Sack Pirate Tales Pt.1:Cannibal IslandCam-Cam1 Your first day on a shrimp boat goes horribly wrong and you ship wreck and end up on an island of cannibals. Can you make it out? This level has been out for a while however ive been wondering what people actually think of it and how it can get better. The theremometer is full so I can't add anything else to it. Hi Cam Cam, thought some one needed to give you a proper review, seems that is why you put it on the forum. I'm here to criticize, it's not my job, it's a choice, and it's not meant to be hurtful, or negative, it's to be used to help you build better levels. I would not have bothered to learn half the stuff I have if it wasn't for others 'points of view' and constructive criticisms. So, brace your self, heres 'MY' opinion. First and foremost 'I' don't like the use of too much 'ready made' MM obstacles/backgrounds/objects and your level is a MASSIVE collection of them. I know you made your little men, and the boss, they were cool, and some of your backgrounds had some effort put into them. too, but most of it was very unoriginal and 'taked on' to fill the level out. I liked your use of the water fall ideas, been done a million times, but none the less effective. You have some basic ideas of a platform going there with a few grab things, and a boss, but the level had no substance, skill factor or imagination. People are very harsh with their game reviews in general (me certainly included) but I feel that it's due to the fact that there are SO MANY games out there that it is very hard to impress anymore. You need to aim for 'originality' and attention to detail and game play. Don't rush a game, if you don't have much time to create, then well....if it takes six months, it takes six months. Take your time and plan and think and test and if you have any friends, get them to test and re test as well. I liked your story line (though no reference to Simon being eaten was a shame) the water falls, the boss idea, the falling floor, and I quite liked the 'cartoon feel' of the back layer backgrounds, and made water, it gave it a 'quirky' style feel. Best of luck with what ever you plan to do. Shade_seeker If you can F4F my level ' Spider mech tank walker' that would be great.
