How much are you're levels worth?

Just a what if thread, If you could put a price on your level how much would you think you're level would be worth? I think it would come down to what the level is for me.

I think somthing like 10p (to play the level when ever they want) for a Sky town level and for somthing like Ico level (they take alot of working out)20p

what do you think how much would you buy for levels? and How much are you're levels worth?

edit

Cant say how much Mm give us for GOTY ^^; i do feel like i need to pay them back by buying all DLC

and best thing about LBP is that it free its a what if and want to see if and how much worth you would put on your level not would other buy them or now

Ooooooh. I thought you meant 10p for the level, i.e. if someone payed you to make a level, what would you expect to get paid? 10p lol. I do hope MM/Sony paid more than that for the GOTY levels!

You're talking about price per play though, right? I'd imagine a lot of people would want me to pay them to play Setbacks

Yes like rtm I thought you meant to make the level and would want some sort of reference sample beforehand like how much you got paid for yours.

If you mean for people to play it though then that's just crazy, I wouldn't pay to play anyone's levels. Don't go giving Sony stupid ideas like that or that will be the death of LBP, for me at least.

I'd love that idea.

People would appreciate levels they bought a bit more.

Creators might put more of an effort into creating them as
a - they know people are paying for them
b- they want to be able to sell their next level also so this level determines how willing people are to buy the next.

I know it would result in far less plays per level but it would also result in far less spammers going on and low rating your level as they would have to pay to do it.

10 pence/cent seems alright to me but I don't know if that would be alot to someone younger who only gets a certain amount of pocket money etc. Although 1 euro/pound/dollar for 10 good users levels seems good value to me whoever you are. There a now a lot of creators who build level to AT LEAST Media Molecules standard.

EDIT: I think it would be best for this to be optional though. So if you wanted to publish your level for free you could do. That way you can have a distintion for free levels and paid for levels.

I'd give mine away for free as I create for myself anyway and it's also the only price tag I'm willing to accept for user created levels.2010-04-23 12:20:00

I would make my levels free as well, as there is no way I would pay to play them but people could give me the money if they wanted to, I mean I wouldn't stop anyone from paying me. Not that have any levels yet mind you.2010-04-23 12:46:00

My levels are worth nothing. Edit: I created them for fun in my spare time and built whatever I wanted to build. They don't have monetary value, they are only worth the enjoyment I got out of building them.2010-04-23 13:02:00

Ummmm, now I'm really confused. You're not exactly making yourself clear, especially when you say 10 pence for a level. If someone gave you 10p would you give them the level and let them post it up as their own?

That depends on whether they want to earn money from it. I don't.
Of course I could put an arbitrary price tag on it, but it wouldn't reflect its true value. All things are only worth the price people are willing to pay for it.

my levels are worth exactly $13.43 as a pack. I probably would need to throw in Jacques the Acadian Warlord for free.2010-04-24 02:49:00

10 cents, so if I had tweny levels, you could have them all for 2 dollars(If all the levels I played costed that much, I'd have invested $6,000.00 dollars in LBP). 2010-04-24 03:09:00

How dare you's assume your levels are worth something. You's should be paying:

ME!
Only ME!
And no one else but ME!
to play your levels.

Mines would go sriously unnapreciated and people would think that they were trash.
However, after my death, the new generations would realize what a tremendous masterpiece they are and pay stupidily high amounts of money in order to play them.

My levels, as a pack would be around a euro. But if modern warfare can charge 15euro for DLC. Then I guess mine would be around 100. Give or take a few euro. 2010-04-25 16:07:00

I don' know. Speed roll, Jungle rumble, the two tech demos for max 1 cent, UFO and Turntable for 5 and Red Eagle series levels: part 1 for 10 and part 2 and 3 for 15 cents. Seeing how the quality has gone that much up.2010-04-25 18:33:00

Exactly $54.95, which also includes the LBP game disk, plus postage and handling. I would also sell my "profile" to the highest bidder--lots of Ace'ed Story Mode levels--bidding would start at 25 cents and be capped at 26 cents

In summary...no charge for my creations.

How much are they worth to me? as in if i had to sell them?
i would say 10$ for the entire Crazy pollo saga
and 3$ for the spin-off series
but only if i had to
i make levels to entertain people and get a story across
not to make money or anything like that
