Link to LBP music level gameplay video (http://uk.gamespot.com/video/938583/6194341/littlebigplanet-gameplay-movie-12) Well, many of you might have seen this, but even so it deserves its own thread! This is alot like dj mixing software for the PC.. its quite incredible! At the beginning you are shown the blocks used. the ones with a little speaker on and a microchip are the ones that create sound.. then there is clear boxes used as a spacers. The sackboy then controls a vehicle with three microchips that when they pass the other microchips, sound is played from that block. I think that you can use these microchips and speakers independently and you don't have to use these blocks, you can put them on any object, with or without the microchips (without would have it play automatically; volume probably changes depending on how close or far away you are.. like proximity speakers.. if you wanted continuous background music you can set it in the level settings.) The chips are probably a form of switches and can be assigned to other tasks rather then playing audio.. At least that's what I think. Discuss | 2008-07-17 17:08:00 Author: Maltay Posts: 2073 |
Freakin' awesome. My friend envies me because he doesn't have a PS3 but he wants this game, and if he saw this he'd go insane(he loves music synthesis, he's spent a good 5,000$ on sythesizers and accessories). | 2008-07-23 22:40:00 Author: ConfusedCartman Posts: 3729 |

Microchips!? I wish you can put your own music in the game... Theyre considering, but it might only be that you can hear it.. Its also possible that you can add your own music in your downloadable patches for other people to use | 2008-07-24 07:42:00 Author: Maltay Posts: 2073 |

so it is like the mario paint mixer... (well sort of anyway) if it is anything like the mario paint mixer any song is possible... It could be but from what i've heard they give you different sounds.. but to not give you all notes would be stupid. I guess it is like mario paint | 2008-07-24 08:47:00 Author: Maltay Posts: 2073 |

And I saw this screen capture that Tyler posted of the audio options. http://i36.tinypic.com/2mpla52.png I believe these are the songs that will be interactive from game manual: Original Interactive Music by Mat Clark @ Sonica Music, London. ?Gardens iMusic? composed by Mat Clark / Kenneth Young ?Savannah iMusic? composed by Mat Clark ?Wedding iMusic composed by Mat Clark ?Canyons iMusic? composed by Mat Clark ?Metropolis iMusic? composed by Mat Clark ?Islands iMusic? composed by Mat Clark ?Temples iMusic? composed by Mat Clark ?Wilderness iMusic? composed by Kenneth Young / Mat Clark For everyone that has seen all of this. Do you believe that the video is the only way we will be able to play around with the music in the game? And do you think it will only be limited to these songs and not the other available tracks in the game? Or do believe that their will be some kind of music editor in the game that you can use to play around with all of the songs? This is something I really wish Media Molecule would talk about more or show a video of it. | 2008-09-15 02:27:00 Author: BurlapSackBoy Posts: 310 |
Yeah Burlap, I agree that those are the songs we can interact with. It makes sense. | 2008-09-15 03:55:00 Author: aer0blue Posts: 1603 |
I saw this video a loooong time ago... Anyways, the part sticking off the car touches the sensors on the blocks, and the speakers play sound effects. | 2008-09-15 04:24:00 Author: Tyler Posts: 663 |
will there be sound effects. like animal noises, jungle atmosphere, crashes, explosions and all those sound effects? | 2008-09-15 06:46:00 Author: muttjones Posts: 843 |
will there be sound effects. like animal noises, jungle atmosphere, crashes, explosions and all those sound effects? They show nine speakers under sound effects, but room for eighteen. They haven't showed us how this is going to work. But I hope you can pick a speaker for a sound effect and a huge list will come up that you pick from and assign to each speaker. I used the video as an example of a music editor. But I hope that was just somebody fooling around with what could be done with the speakers. If we really are going to have interactive music that we can add and take away beats and instruments and speed of song. I hope we have some kind of simple music editor program we can use and record with. | 2008-09-15 18:27:00 Author: BurlapSackBoy Posts: 310 |

Wonder if you can register your own sounds?... | 2008-09-16 01:14:00 Author: THE-FAT Posts: 143 |
Wonder if you can register your own sounds?... You obviously can't <_< Since you can't even use custom music. But I think you can tweak the speakers to play any sound. | 2008-09-16 15:01:00 Author: Forsaken Posts: 950 |
