Darkness generator

I was thinking the other day that if you were say, creating a horror based level (Silent Hill? Ravenholm from Half Life 2, anyone?) it'd be great to be able to have more control over specific areas of shadows beyond the world controls. I'm thinking in a similar way to light sources. It'd be cool to hide specific areas to create atmosphere, in a similar way to the level: "Dead Memories".2010-04-22 17:53:00

The lighting in Dead Memories was more of a fluke than a calculation. It's already possible to do most of this with global lighting though, any extra settings wouldn't really produce a noticeable difference.2010-04-22 20:04:00
