No new DLC???

Archive: 19 posts

Well it seems like cambridge is running out of ideas for new DLC! The only two that still haven't been realeased that are known of are the 'Turbo Pack' and the moon rover costume. Normally they realease DLC every week apart from the free XMB theme. They do realease the creators edition ps3 content every fortnight, so the last pack, the wilderness, should be up next week. On the official game site (www.littlebigplanet.com) they haven't said anything about new DLC like they normally do. Perhaps they want us to get used to the fact that they might only release DLC every two or three weeks? Or maybe they're going to starve us of our DLC needs so that when they do release the 'Turbo Pack' most people will buy it?2010-04-21 19:02:00

Spaff or Tom normally update the LBP.com website on a Monday to let us know about DLC for that week.
No post? No DLC that week.

I doubt the Turbo pack would come before the last of the theme packs though.

What if Cambridge really have run out of ideas for new DLC? you never know, the reason why Tom or Spaff aren't updating is maybe because there ISN'T ever gonna be any new DLC. And besides, Cambridge never usually leave it this long before new DLC release is out in the PS Store, so what the hell is actually happening? :star:

Or maybe this is me just being paranoid now that you have brought the subject up.

Yes I'm afraid we must be very patient with Cambridge. 2010-04-21 22:12:00

Wow, you guys are freaking out about the DLC. Guys, it takes lots of testing and designing and just plain work to make an original DLC. So creating DLC doesn't take a few hours, it could take a lot of weeks probably a month, if they want to keep "some people" as close as they can get to happy. Cause face it "some people" always find something wrong about the DLC, so Cambridge is trying as hard as they can to give them nothing to complain about.2010-04-21 23:15:00

This made me lol. I don't think I've ever seen a game with more down-loadable content. This includes the PS3 version. So don't worry I'm sure more is coming.

This thread reminds me of the Too Human forums and all the cries for DLC, rough times. Cambridge has done great job supporting PSP LBP. Having seen the other end of the spectrum I am very appreciative of Cambridge/MM's efforts.

I was actually thinking there was a lot of DLC already... Hmm, and you're complaining about not having DLC? We had some last week, you know. You can't hope for DLC every single week. Besides, they literally just announced the first premium level pack. I'm pretty sure they're not out of ideas. 2010-04-22 00:22:00

I sort of doubt that DLC will stop altogether. From what I'm hearing from the community, people are really loving the DLC, and that means that a lot of people are dowloading it. All of these downloads equal money for Sony that is gained from very little effort. It just wouldn't make sense (to me) for them to pull the plug on DLC when they have a reasonably big sized community who is all willing to pay for it.2010-04-22 01:49:00

People! Look at the creators edition. The DLC for all of that is already done, but we have been get a few updates that have: content update for future DLC. That isn't the creators edition DLC because it is already done. That means we are getting new ones soon.

I think that it is taking so long for them to come out because they are working on updates.

I probably got a bit too quick with this one. It's probably because I got the all the creators edition content early, so I've been getting half the supply of DLC that everyone else is having. It's actually really nice having an almost constant flow of DLC, because I know on thursday morning that there will be some new stuff for me when I get home, and I always forget during the day, then get pleasantly surprised that there's something extra to help me in creating my levels.2010-04-22 17:09:00

PSP Home? I think you mean the PSP Room (PSP's version of PS3's Playstation Home). That was canceled, so we'll probably never see "Room."2010-04-22 20:10:00

Darn. Umm, back on topic seeing as though I also had the creators edition content I feel like there's been near to none content for me.

Well, yeah, the people with the Creater's Edition content would have a shortage of DLC, but most LBPlayers do not have that, thus, for most people, there is a lot of DLC. So, there might not be much DLC for you, but you should look at it this way: you have more DLC than most of us. And you have access to it sooner than we do. However, I understand totally what you mean. I think after they finish the PS3 packs, they'll probably move onto stuff that nobody has yet. So, soon (Sony soon, that is), hopefully there will be, er, fresh DLC packs!

You should all look at yourselves! It's funny to see people talking about the possibility of not spending $5.99 every week. Honestly, that must be incredibly fun to watch your wallet's fund go down.

Don't worry you guys. PS3's LBP DLC didn't come out all at once. One time, I think we had a month or two delay. LBP PSP's longest is only two weeks. You got to remember that the PSP can't handle too much complex things, so be patient and wait for cake bakers to deliver something fresh.

Peace
