Oh, we are. We just suck. But I think we -do- cover it. This is like, the second most important worldwide sporting event after the Olympics. No joke.

In the USA it's:

http://www.indiasportstour.com/footbal1.jpg
http://xiongqing.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/mauer.jpg
http://commentos.files.wordpress.com/2008/12/cr.jpg

And the rest of the world telling us we're wrong, only makes us dig our heels in harder!

That said, my son and I are really looking forward to the World Cup. He updates his FB account every few weeks with a countdown of days. Silly boy.

If your trying to list popular sports in the us, i would replace cricket with basketball. I know soccer is ridiculously popular everywhere else in the world, but in the US i would rank it pretty low in poplularity. You might see it on espn top ten plays sometimes, but its never covered.

No, we don't suck that bad!

We almost won it last year (if it wasn't for futbol-crazy Brazil). Maybe if we actually did win, more people would pay attention.

In other words... hopes are on U.S., South Africa and Italy. GO SMELLY AMERICANS!!!

I think you may have just proven how little interest America has in Football haha

It was the Confederations Cup that you got to the final of last year, certainly not the World Cup. Both are only held every 4 years

Idk who im rooting for it, remember its all about the country that's more united and together as the other, no matter how many great players they are if a specific team is working together like one, they'll win the World Cup. And btw, soccer in USA atleats has a profesional team etc.., but in Puerto Rico soccer is like a desert lmao!, and that sucks!!!...

>(, i wish i lived in some other place where soccer was a really big deal like england for example.

Well, considering Mexico carnaged them with a 5 - 0 victory in their last match, i doubt they'll qualify...

Argentina or Spain are going to win.

England have no chance, America never have a chance, Brazil's team is poor, Portugal is pretty much a one man team, France is awful....

Are they in it? If not I'm for Cameroon.
Or some nobody like Cote d'Ivoire.

PS: Is Nigeria still good? All my football knowledges dates back to the 90s.

Who has Holland got as a main star, Just Van Persie or is there more?

Anyway after recent matches, I bet England are raging that Gareth Bale is Welsh...

Good one! >_>

Anyway, I think Brazil's team isn't quite as good as previous years. With ronaldinho and kaka not playing well. I'm not sure about Robinho but he sucked at Manchester City.
My bet on Spain this year. I have a feeling...

Yes, i am infact very serious. They have a poor team, and their good players aren't playing well.

Argentina have players like Messi and Aguero, Tevez, Mascherano, Higuain, Milito and Zanetti, to name but a few.

Spain have people like Casillas, Pique, Puyol, Xavi, Fabregas, Alonso, Villa and of course, Torres.

Brazil aren't even close to those two.

Argentina or Spain are going to win.

Not necessarily ...

England have no chance

Well they wouldn't have done if Rooney's ankle scare had been for real.

America never have a chance

...but are pretty awesome at everything else

Brazil's team is poor

For once.

Portugal is pretty much a one man team

Well even he's not that good - he left Man Utd and they haven't been the worse off for it.

France is awful....

Lol.

Well, I'm supporting England - think I'm the first one to say so in this thread lol, but even I don't want to get my hopes up. We have good players, but they don't seem to want to work together ...
