Can't see it (PS3 browser) but i'm pretty sure its just some effect, there are a lot of ways to make a lava effect m8, wouldn't be surprised if thos was one. Mind you posting a pic of the "lava"? Just take a screeen shot or something.

Honestly, I think that's just what the fire hazard looked like before it was changed for the final release. Heck, quite a few things have changed since then. I could be wrong, though. Maybe it had the same story as Ice.

Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvY5HHn2pBI changes to. http://www.ps3youtube.com/watch?v=DvY5HHn2pBI Some vids are in better quality also & as ps3youtube doesn't use flash it should alway work. On topic yea lava has been about and made available for awhile now.

Yep, it comes from some fire snake thing from the savannagh. Personally I hate the stuff, it just looks weird!

ahh, lava material. the way the material works gives me the impression that is was supposed to be a material given in the game. it seems clean and finished when you use it. no idea why MM didn't release it.

What I think what happened: The game was first developed with this "lava". So objects like the snapping claw object was built with it. When a change was made to the "lava" to be more like fire, the level designers probably just lit the old lava on fire because they didn't feel like changing the material.

wait what? thats a material??? yup. sounds and acts like wood but does that weird thing rubber or dark matter does when you shrink it. it glows nicely, in day and night. it also looks pretty cool stickered.

You can find this in the Sack-Eating Plant I believe from the Savannah theme. Remove all the stickers and you should be able to see it somewhere - I think it's part of the tongue. trip090 has a cool thread keeping track of all the secret materials discovered and how to get them - pay it a visit.

Well.. yeah if it's everywhere it would be one big cheesy mess BUT used well I think it looks pretty nice all glowy and such. Would love to see this material as there doesn't seem to be many dynamic ones that visually change during play other than hazards or the glitch lava material.

The popits were changed from their original design to the one we use now because of organization. Every time i see the old popit it looks confusing to navigate.

I dont think thats neccesarily 3D, although i could have been a fourth layer! and the little villages in the background of the gardens theme, could just have been the old theme!

at 1:16 that's not a background. that's stuff they added, definitely. although it probably was a forth layer. all the same, it was an extra layer.
