The Treasure Hunter & the Secret of the Ancient PyramidDomik12
You are a Treasure Hunter that finds the location of an Ancient Pyramid. Can you find the clue to enter the pyramid and discover its secret?
Hello everybody!

I finally publish my second psp LBP level, that has name "The Treasure Hunter & the Secret of the Ancient Pyramid".

If you already played in my first story level "Treasure Hunter and a riddle of old castle (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=21890-Treasure-Hunter-and-a-riddle-of-old-castle)", then you know, that it must be adventure like level with exploring gameplay. This is second part of Treasure Hunter Odyssey. New place, new obstacles, new secrets and new treasures.

I must say big thanks for my beta-testers: amazingflyingpoo, Taffey and jeffcu28. They gave me many smart advices and it help me to do level more better! I could not follow all their advices, because I hadn't unlimited termo, but I tried to do as much as I can.

And here are some screenshots:

YEAH! You published your incredibly awesome new level! I LOVED beta testing this for you, and I was blown away by how good it is.

Sadly, I don't have a wireless internet connection today, so I cannot download the Official version, but I am going to comment on the level anyway since I pretty much know exactly what it is from playing it multiple times when testing it.

First of all, I loved the story and dialog in the level. You did a great job keeping it very interesting for the player, and you even added in some good humor (I left it in my other pair of pants )

The scenery was top notch. This level shows HUGE improvement over your previous levels in terms of scenery. In fact, I had a hard time even finding things to complain about (and I love complaining about scenery). There were great spots in the level where you used dynamic camera angles to make really fun scenes like the one where you look over the pyramid from above.

Lastly, the mechanics and challenges/puzzles were just fantastic. The area near the end where you have the cart that takes you through a series of puzzles was just mind-blowing! It's one of my favorite parts of any LBP PSP level. You did such a fantastic job with all of that, and this is at the end of an already-long and incredible level! Awesome work! I also love how the level ended and can't wait for the sequel!

Awesome work Domik! I will be downloading it and giving you 5 stars and a Heart whenever I get a Wi-Fi connection!

Hi, Poo!

Thanks for very kind words about my level and much bigger thanks for beta-testing and very smart advices! And of course thank you for translating my texts to REAL English!
I changed many texts after your feedback and made many fixes to improve level mechanics and gameplay. You a really great creator and tester! And it very useful to have your advices! Thanks you one more time!

About sequel - I already have story for next Treasure Hunter level in my mind and I constructed several it parts as examples, but now I have plan to do remake of one of my favourites PS3 level as psp version. It is not very big and complicated, but I had much fun with it on PS3, so I think it will be cool to have it on psp. I don't name it, let it will be my little secret. I think I will ask you, Poo, Taffey and jeffcu28 to test it very soon.

Also I have ideas and parts of story for two another level without any connections to Treasure Hunter Odyssey and PS3 levels. All I need is time (almost as Beatles ) I have no many free time. Honestly speaking all my levelsI created during my trip from home to work and back. It about 2 hours per day, but frequent I have many others interesting thing to do - new book, new film, new anim? and so on So if you want to see something new - please be patient.

Hi Domik!!

I really enjoyed playing your level you did an excellent job with the atmosphere and the stickers throughout the gameplay was very pleasant, your characters are fascinating I loved the three monkeys, the section of the pyramid was incredible, have to activate a lot of switches was very fun, your puzzles are very innovative and really nice, I loved when you have to regulate the speed of two circles was incredible, and solve a lot of puzzles for obtain the password was very pleasant this was my favorite part. The only complaint could have and not is a big deal, is that in some parts was not so evident that had to do, perhaps for people who do not have long time playing LBP was a bit complicate, but for me was very good added more challenge, very good job, I have given 5 star a heart and a heart as creator.

Hey Domik,

Great level. The setting and concept were awesome and combined with great puzzles it all came together in a really fun adventure.

Some parts of your level really stood out visually: I loved the wooden crane and bridge section, and therewere some parts where you use interesting tricks such as the path leading away from the city on the hill at the start, and the pyramid 'in the distance'. I suppose there were sections where the visual presentation didn't stand up to the high standard you set in other parts (the guy's arm at the start looks kind of messy, for example) but overall this is a nice looking level.

Your puzzles are really ace. I liked how you start off with basic ones like pulling the plant to use as a platform to and move on to much more complicated ones. Personally I think the rotating discs one is not only the best in the level, but one of the coolest I've seen. I also liked the burning coal in the mine cart section. Oh and releasing the floaty parrots to fly up into the alcoves in the ceiling. All were very well done and while they were challenging, they were never totally obscure or baffling, although I did have to go around a couple of times to get the solution to the combination lock.

Now the ending was very good indeed, I liked the way you tied this level into a potential future adventure, very nicely done, and one of the best looking sections of the level too.

Nice work. I look forward to the next installment.

Aww man...
I didn'y get to finish the level.
It needs fixing for sure.

At the ending of the level, you know that small item you grab?
Well, I thought you were suppose to pull it out, but I did that, and then I just flew while the item disappeared.
I think it was suppose to lead me somewhere, but since I moved (Do to the pulling) I bounced off the wall and came back down.
Since I lead nowhere and the thing was gone, I had nowhere to go.
I couldn't finish the level, and your work was doing so good.
If you could please fix this, I'll be able to heart this level.

So for now, I just gave you Five stars, until you fix this, I will then give you feedback and a heart.

Until we meet again,

Wow Domik, this was fantastic! I love the creative camera angle use, and the way you kept showing things in the distance- that building up the road at the beginning, and the awesome part when you're looking over the pyramid from the cliff were just great! Great visuals, and some great puzzles too- syncing up those rotating circles was one of the coolest puzzles I've ever seen! The pyramid was fun and had a diverse array of challenges to overcome- I had a great time playing this, Domik! Thanks for sharing it with us! 5 Stars and a heart!2010-04-22 06:39:00

Thanks for kindly words, memorex! I spent much time for this level. About not evident parts - I planed to put some hint in final version, but there were no free termo for it. I tried to delete some part of level to rebuild it, but it didn't resolve problem. So I published level as it was and cross fingers so players will find right way to go through. I am very glad that you solved all puzzle and it is very good, that you found puzzles interesting! Thank you for playing and for good words about my level!

Thank you, salieri, for kind words about puzzles and my work with stickers! It is very significant to hear it from such great master of stickers using as you. I always was delighted with you stickers work and tried to understand what stickers did you use and how you got such great result. So I learned some tricks with stickers from you levels. I am very glad that you didn't have problems with rotating discs, because amazingflyingpoo worried me, that this puzzles can be a little bit difficult to understand and solve. And it is very cool, that you liked way, that I did level ending. Thank again for feedback!

Hello, Spark! It is very sad, that you couldn't finish level. Amazingflyingpoo, Taffey and jeffcu28 test this level befor publishing and didn't find some problems with this section. I supposed, that players could moved on platform, but anyway above it there is very wide entrance to next level part, though I can't understand how you could stick there. I will check this part again and tried to fix it. Sorry for this problem!

Haha yep! Just posted feedback on it, turns out I'd played it a while ago.

And just so I don't feel like I'm wasting space with this post, allow me to comment again on your stickerwork! The night fading to day was very creative. It looks like you've gotten a lot more comfortable with the sticker tool since the first treasure hunter! Also, like with your first level, I was impressed with how much there was to do

I just played it and here's what I have to say:

The story in this level was very cool. It was fun exploring around. You also had very good humor in this level, with the whole parachute thing.

Very awesome scenery work. It was a very good improvement from your last levels. That one camera angle, where you look down at the pyramid was EPIC.
Once I got in the pyramid I was shocked. I loved your puzzle elements and platforming. You did very good in terms of challenging the player, while adding fun into your level. I can't wait for your next level!

5 stars and a heart.

Hey Domik, I really liked your level!!

I thought it was very well designed with great platforming and cool puzzles, and that's what a fun level is all about in my opinion.

The story had me hooked too. You camera work on this level was awesome. I think a good camera angle in certain parts of a level adds so much and you really had some great camera angles.

Good job my friend, I gave you five stars, a heart, and a heart for creator too!!

Great level Domik22.

I like that you had the player slowly work his way to the pyramid by showing it in the distance in the beginning and later having them look down upon it through the clouds, awesome. The boat ride was a very nice touch and helped add to the grandness of your level.

The pyramid itself did not disappoint. The puzzles were very creative and interesting. My favorite was the two spinning discs with the magnetic switch & key, but they were clever. I enjoyed the ending in the store with the map to the next adventure. I can?t wait to play it =) 5 stars and 2 hearts(creator and level)

I did have the same problem as spark151 and fell off the platform after I got the text. I ended up having to restart the level to finish, again. The first time I restarted because I didn?t want to guess at the bird puzzle because I though I missed something =P

Thank you for kind words about my level, TheNerd, Xenon and VelcroJonze. I am very glad that you had fun with my creation. And also it is cool that you liked puzzles, especially with two spinning disks, because I was afraid that it can be too difficult for players without big hint.

It is very sad, Xenon, that you had this problem with platform. I tried it about 20 times in different way and always got to next section. I can't understand how it worked in your case, but I really want to fix it. Sorry again for this discomfort situation.

About next level - I already did small level as remake of one PS3 community level and right now wait for feedback from Taffey and and jeffcu28. Then after some fixes I will do post about it here. And I already begin new level, that don't have connections to Treasure Hunter Odyssey.

I played this a while back, it was lots of fun, I can see why you got the level of the week pick. The gameplay was my favorite part of the level, the swinging on the monkeys' tails at the beginning was a neat idea, and the puzzle near the end where you had to figure out the code was fun too. The visuals were nice too, it had a nice clean cut feel to it. Overall, this was a nice, fun level. Good work Domik, by the way, I'm about to go play the save die reload level you recently published.

I rated it :star::star::star::star::star: and hearted it. :arg:

Hey this is much better in visuals, compared two the first one. The start is awesome. You've done good on capturing the looks of a jungle. And the music suits the level good.

Pros
The Spiral riddle was a great idea. Well done.
The end was nice, now we're excited for the third.
Visuals much better than last one.

Cons
I don't like your use of basic wood for the trees. Use another sort, that looks more as a tree wood. If you haven't got better wood materials, then you should consider buy the Gardens pack.
The riddle with the birds was good, but choosing them was hard. Wouldn't a three-point switch work better in that situation?

Hey Domik,

This level really blew me off the water! I'm ecstatic at the rate you're improving since your previous level. The stickerwork, corner-editing, pacing, and gameplay were all amazing, and I loved the sequence of puzzles/minigames to uncover the combination for the lock. Your hard work really shows in the quality of craftsmanship in this level, and it really deserves the Spotlight. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to beta this level; I was pleasantly surprised the first time I played it. Congratulations again, and I look forward to playing more of your levels in the future!

Thanks for smart feedback, ghik! Abouts using materials - I haven't any DLC materials yet, so in future I of course will use better materials from different DLC. About three-point switch - Taffey and jeffcu28 said my about it after beta-testing, but I could not change it without completely rebuilding all this part, because I had almost full termo at that moment. So I decided to leave all as it was and use this advice in my future works.

I must admit, from the name of the level, I wasn't expecting a masterpiece... I was wrong! The level design was nice and clean, camera angles well used and the puzzles blow those in the Story Mode out of the water! The spinning wheels weren't confusing at all, in fact for a non-linear sorta level I actually didn't get lost once!

The only negative I could think of, was the text in some of the speech bubbles. I can only assume English is not your native language? If you wanted some help with future levels, I'd be happy to proof-read your speech bubbles for you and offer suggestions (oh dear, the English teacher in me is creeping out...).

I really loved the ending, it added so much to the level and gave it a distinct Indiana Jones vibe, which I guess is what you were aiming for

Hey Domik! I must say, I loved this incredibly incredible level!!! You posted feedback for my F4F level, so I figured I would leave feedback for you here. (I would have done the Old Castle one, but sadly, it's broken for me. I'll check it out again though; maybe it's fixed.) I am really regretting not playing it before. This level was astounding!! No, breathtaking!! Seriously!! But anyways, to the reviewy. (reviewy is funner to say than review, no)

The very first scene in the level was pretty cool. No, scratch that. Astounding is a better adjective there. The pyramid in the background was really cool; something I haven't seen done yet in LBP, which is really a unique and awesome idea. Also, the character that talks to you was pretty cool. I loved the part with the rocks where you're climbing. That was a really unique yet fun experience. Especially the part where you altered the view and saw the pyramid. That was cool. It proves just how much you can do with a change of perspective.

The boat ride was extremely fun. I'm not exactly sure how you got it to move up and down, but I suppose there are multiple ways to do that. The boat itself was super awesome, too. Honestly, I forget what happens after that because it's been a week or too since I've played it, however, I do remember the puzzles, and they were unusual - in a good way. To many puzzles consist of this: Put the blue circle/square in the blue hole, put the red circle/square in the red hole, etc. Your puzzle was really cool though. After the puzzle, I completely forget what happens. However, I remember one thing: It was a unique, fun, and a blast to play.

I never really realized just how talented you are at creating, but after playing this, you got a well-deserved creator heart. It was really just a fun level. Interesting and astounding visuals, awesome platforming action; what more could anyone want in a level?!

Thanks Domik, I loved this level. I'm definitely checking to see if your Old Castle level is fixed. If it is, I'm playing that level and no one's going to stop me.

5*, Hearted and Creator Heart. Can't wait for your next level!

DOMIK's REPLY: Thank you for feedback, Bovrillor! It is very cool that players had fun with my levels. And I will disclose a secret: Poo edited my original texts before public publishing and I add only one new text part after it. So it as very strange to hear that you found some new mistakes. If it is not very difficult - please send me text parts with mistakes and its
correct versions. And thank you for help offer.

Okey Dokey, Domik is 100% correct about this! I am the one to blame if you have problems with the text. I went through the level and carefully read everything and modified what I thought needed modifying. So, let me explain myself.

I had a few options: I could either modify everything and make everything into perfect English and have it sound like I wrote it all, I could leave it all like Domik wrote it and only make corrections if there was some terrible mistake, or I could add things here and there to make it flow better and correct major mistakes but still leave it enough the same that if felt like Domik wrote it.

I opted for the 3rd choice, because I didn't want to take the Domik magic out of the level. I really enjoy the way that Domik talks, even the the English may not be written perfectly. So I modified things that were just plain wrong, and I also added in a few things to make sentences flow smoother (an example is with the parachute joke), but overall I tried my very hardest to still make it feel like Domik wrote it.

Though the English may not be the optimal word choice in all cases, I still feel like it all makes sense and I didn't notice any real problems with it, it's just sometime the word order wouldn't be what you would expect from a native English speaker.

I hope that all of this makes sense, and I hope that most people can appreciate having that Domik magic in the speech. I know that I would really miss it if all of the text was re-written by me, but if Domik opts to have it all re-written next time, then I would be glad to do it for him, because he is my favorite Russian

[EDIT: On a side note, keep in mind that I am an American who is working as an English teacher in China. Perhaps if I hadn't been doing this, I would be more prone to just correct every single speech bubble, but being here has made me appreciate the different forms of English that different cultures use. It makes me appreciate Domik's speech more than any one else's on the PSP forums, and in my opinion, it adds more color and flavor to his level as long as what he is saying makes perfect sense (which is what I was trying to make sure happened).]

Thank you, Poo, for this explanation!

A little off-topic, but do you know many Russian men?
I tried to find Russian creators on Community Moon and found only 3

Actually, no, I don't. I don't even know what country a lot of my friends on LBP PSP are from!

But I'm sure that if I did know any other Russians they couldn't be as awesome of a member of the community as you. You are one of the few people that leaves feedback across all of the forums, and you are super supportive of everyone. I don't know how anyone could not appreciate that!

Hello Domik
I just played your newest level and it is fantastic. I haven't played any of your previous levels so I don't know how much you've improved but I was realy impressed with this level. I thought everything was great. The scenery is very nice, especially once you get into the pyramid. Very nice use of stickers. I also enjoyed the puzzles, some of the best I've played and extremely high quality for the PSP. I had no problems with the gameplay, other than not knowing what to do sometimes, but I figured it out. And the ending was perfect setting up a sequal very nicely. 5 stars and a heart for you.

Ah, Russian eh? Mystery solved The speech doesn't really detract from the fun, and I can see what 'Poo means about retaining the 'Domik Magic' ... perhaps you should leave it as it is I'd be happy to help if you really want, though it sounds like 'Poo has got it covered!

One thing I forgot to mention in my original feedback - I love the stickering at the start of the level, showing the town in the distance... really nice touch! Combined with the funky ending, it really added to the whole 'going on an adventure' vibe. Can't wait to see what you've got in store for us next!

There is so much about this level that I loved, from the awesome jungle design to the very creative puzzles in the last half of the level. I have played many junge adventure/explorer type levels and this one is just bustling with awesome level design and very creative ideas. I loved the "see no evil/hear no evil/speak no evil" near the front of the level. I would of love to seen more characters like this populating your beautiful jungle and pyramid but thats a VERY small complaint. I also loved the moment where you looked over the jungle and saw the tip of the pyramid, very nice. Five stars and a heart from me.2010-08-11 04:25:00
