a concept of sorts original thought

Archive: 8 posts

i couldnt find where to put this so ill try here. i have a concept on a new way to make a platformer.my only problem is i cant get a 4 way tracking system that works well. the idea to this is that instead of seeing yourself as you run through the level you see a character that you made. example: lets just say you put a teddy bear together and use that for your character.what i was thinking is you put a thin layer in between you and the character and basically you have to make it through a platformer controlling the character.so if any body is interested in helping i could use all the help i can get.2010-04-17 05:56:00

I don't want to disappoint you, but I've already seen two levels like this. However, they are fun to play and unique, I suppose you could try it.

I don't remember the level names at the moment, but perhaps someone else could tell you.

I belevie the levels called 'flat world' or something similar. Also theres quite a few Loco Roco levels that use this teqnique.

Maybe check em out for some inspiration

Have you used grid mode?

All you need to do is to make a piece of material in the centre and count the number of movements (say 6 grid squares or something) in all four directions. And then just connect them by 2 or 3 stiff rods (the more rods the less likely it is to wobble or break.)
