I feel for you.... I had a cat with my wife for 14 years, and several weeks ago we found her suddenly dead.... seemed perfectly healthy. She was like a child to us, and we we've been really broken up. Then, only a week later our OTHER cat suddenly had a physical problem with her bladder that medicine wouldn't help. a few days ago she had to be put to sleep.

Pets really become part of our lives, and part of our families. I've been broken up for several weeks from it all. I feel for you. It's hard losing our little friends.

My cat has been missing for like 5 weeks now, so we assume hes dead... his two brothers miss him

And the sad part is that my two cats i still have hate each other, but everyone loved the one that went missing, and now theres a missing link between the two

Oh noes! The pet's here are dying!

My dog died around Feburary 2006. It was one of my saddest days of my life, and I'm a very optimistic guy! Sad thing is, I had my dog since I was 6. He lived a good life, and I thought that he would've died a peaceful. Well, apperantly my neighbors' dogs ran loose and attacked my dog, killing him in a butal death. To make things worse, my neighbors never apologized, to date.

*Sheds tear.*

I the end of last year I had four guinea pigs die on us in the space of a month, and then my dog hurt its leg and had to be put to sleep.
I'll never get over that.

Oh dear, I'm so sorry to hear about your rat xX-EPIC_MEATWAD-Xx.

When I was little girl, I had a pet rabbit name Charlie he was a Hungarian breed, it was a friends gift to my mother.
I started taking ownership of him, Me and Charlie became good friends, he was a very smart rabbit.

One time a male cat appear to be in the my backyard, i started getting worried he might attack Charlie... I couldn't believe this but Charlie started to thumb his tail really hard trying to warn the cat to leave but the cat refuse so he race after the cat, loll...the cat took off never came back, I was so proud of him.

After Charlie lived for 6 years, he...eventually past away, During the afternoon, the moment Charlie died under the house, I remembered watering tears in my eyes when he was in my arms wrap up inside a soft blanket.

While father and brother were laying him to rest... What kept me positive about Charlie was the good memories we shared and I would never forget him because I know he was in a better place now

Cats always come to see my rabbit, my rabbit is tougher than all of them.
however there is a cat with one eye on my street.

Ccubbage, I am so so so so so sorry to hear about this.

Also, to the original poster, I'm sorry to hear about your rat. I agree completely with Ccubbage... they become parts of our lives and it's like losing a family member. I lost my cat Otis back in August. He was 19 years old, but I grew up with that cat. I was sad for a very long time. Can't imagine how I'd feel if I lost one of my two cats that I have currently. I hope you feel better soon about the loss of your animal.

I had a dog named Rajah (where I get the username from). Grew up with him, and have many memories. It's sad to watch your pets as the years go by; how they age much faster than you. They only live a little over a decade. When they pass you feel empty, and you go out and get another pet to fill that empty void... but at the same time, there's still something missing which you'll never get back. That eventually fades though, and then you're grateful that you had such a great pet in the first place.2010-04-17 19:05:00

I'm so sorry for all you guys' losses. I had a goldfish when I was about 2. He got poisoned from something we cleaned his tank with. But I was 2 so I wasn't that sad.

However, I have three lovely 7 year old cats now: Orlando, Fifi and Manolo. (see pictures on my profile)
If I lost one of them (especially Orlando, who is mine) I would be seriously devastated.

My friendt told me about their Wiccan family friend who lost their familiar, Salem, a black cat. They were really distraught apparantly and no one saw her for weeks.
If you have felt the loss of a pet, times that by 100 and that will tell you what it is like to lose your own familiar

I'm sorry about all your losses
I had a goldfish when I was 2 like plasmavore, he lived for only two weeks. I woke up one day and my mom and sister said they flushed him down the toilet while I was asleep.
So my pet goldfish died and I didnt even get to go to the funeral

I'm sorry for ur loss! That's really sad.

I remember when I was younger we had a little rabbid that belonged to my brother and because he never spend time with him the rabbid didn't want to live anymore because he was lonely so he refuesed to eat and died. That made me so sad I was really mad with my brother then!

my betta (fighting fish) died when it was 3 yrs old...

it was about 100 in betta years O_O

now we have a new one... already a couple months old...

ok, i am still sad about my cats, but i didn't think that i should share because of some scary things...

5 years ago, we got our first pooch, tony. a great dog, but curios of the cats.
punkin, already shy, just hid behind the couch.
while patty, scratched tony every time he got too close...

but then one day, when i was at my grandmas, i got a call from them saying patty had bit my dad in the chin, and he needed stitches.

so because of pattys' anger, he attacked my dad.

...

needless to say, he was mad!
so he said that the cats had to be outside cats.

5 days later, gone.

probably road kill <

my hamster got like extremely constipated and died overnight, my first cat died of some fatal disease but he was put to sleep instead, and my cat right now got close to dying because at some animal bath place a dog got him really scared which caused inflammation in his urinary system and later developed a blockage which we didn't know about, so we took him to a cat hospital and they sedated him and took it out so he's fine now.2010-04-19 02:52:00

When I was younger I built a REAL jurassic park out of cardboard and rocks and stuff much like LBP about 15x15cm with a battery powered fence made out of thin steel wires. I placed little bugs in there. Ants and spiders and stuff. I can't remember if they got electrocuted. I don't think so...not really much power in a battery. Those were the times.2010-04-19 12:07:00
