how about... Velcro???

Archive: 19 posts

So I've been trying to figure out a way to simulate arrows sticking into objects as they land on them. It's tough to get it to work wherever they land, and I thought it would be much easier with a new material or tool... namely velcro.

This material would basically allow objects to be glued together in play mode. It would occur when 2 objects that have velcro on them collide. A sticky material like this could be used for some cool gameplay and visual effects, methinks.

Yeah that could work because he is made of cloth or some material that looks like it would stick to Velcro!2010-04-13 20:36:00

This is the best idea yet! Sackboy would get stuck on it, so you would have to shake the controller to get off, this would be easy to add-on.2010-04-13 22:06:00

lol, i suppose that would be a possible use too! To be honest I hadn't thought of that. I was just like.. 'what makes things stick together?'2010-04-14 01:03:00

a Velcro material would be awesome, as for sack boy getting stuck idk, but ide like to be able to adjust the strength of it, along with maybe being able to colour it so some won't stick to others 2010-04-14 02:16:00

maybe there would be 2 different types, and they only stick to eachother, but not to the same type. just like real velcro. so one would be hooks, and one would be loops. I think hooks would stick to sackie.2010-04-14 02:30:00

Great idea! I've recently been longing for a material of this sort for quite a while now, however I have never thought of it as velcro, usually more like an option to set the gravity of an object. This would then allow other objects, including Sackboy, to be able to move all the way around the object if it is round, or be forced down to disable your jumping power. Setting the strength of that objects gravity would also be a fine tool! This bundled up in a Space Level Kit would be an absolute must buy in my opinion!2010-04-14 02:53:00

Hmm it sounds like a pretty interesting feature. Although it would take time to create as I assume it wouldn't be too easy with the physics n stuff....But yeah i want something like this 2010-04-14 06:37:00

I support the idea, yeah! Sackpeople should be affected by the Needled Valcro by slowing them down. 2010-04-15 17:06:00

Brilliant! That would be a great addition. Just imagine the new "toys" I could create for little sack people.

But in the mean time, I will just stick with my "STOP Shot" Missile for having and object stop on collision.

You could create reliable sackboy backpacks and torches so that he doesn't need to grab them!2010-04-15 17:43:00

Wow i would love this so much, imagine all the new obstacles and challenges you can make with this, for example what if this velcro thingy would be either visible or not visible? Like if you could change its color or something, you can make yellow sticky honey for a perfect bee hive level haha but thats just me lol .2010-04-15 17:55:00
