The Flow

The FlowDraden6436
Sackboy has found his way out of jail on prison island, step 1 done, now to get off the island!!! An epic platformer.
I give to you the flow!
It is already my most favourite platformer and I feel that it has been produced at my greatest creative LBP form.

Sackboy has found himself escaping prison island 300 years after being placed there (for reasons unknown... woooo)
You will need to do a great bit of oldschool platforming to get yourself out of a complete pickle.

After a tremendous and epic battle with the thermometer, a lot of fist-pumping has ensued the dramatic twist and turns of the ultimate power of the thermometer.
Unfortunately much has had to have been deleted from my level but I'd like to think I've kept the level looking like a Draden level and if all goes well then we shall be enjoying a tasty sequel sometime.

If someone can find the time to post a bit of feedback i will of course do the same back for you and would like to see waht all your opinions are on this platformer, its already 5 stars so I could do with an 'outsider' to raise a few pointers, gameplay is roughly 10 minutes long and I think this could be my first spotlighted level (nudge nudge wink wink)
It was entered as a competition level so please enjoy and siddylater.

Hey, I gave your level a shot. It was nice but I felt a few things could be improved. The most prominent thing that stood out to me was the lack of corner editing. The underwater section for instance was very square. It didn't seem natural at all and I appreciate you might not be going for very realistic but roughing up the edges and adding more curves would really improve it. At the start I thought the block you had to knock down was a bit misleading, the sound effect gave me the impression it would break eventually so I jumped and grabbed for a bit but nothing. Turned out I had to wobble it, I think it would be interesting if it did break somewhat after grabbing 3 times or so and then slumping and the block slides off itself. In the next area where you drop the block into it's desired location you can go up to the top left. There's moving spike things, well anyway I jumped across there and would up dropping back down into the entrance area again, not much fun, maybe block it off invisibly. Then the flow arrived and I'm not sure if there's an invisible boundary attempt there but I jumped up on something invisible and got onto the ship. It treated me as if I was still back at the switch but I wasn't, maybe put a proper invisible boundary in and make it so the player can't do that. At the end on the ship, I jumped out and swam right, you can swim too far and see edges of level which isn't the nicest thing so creating a boundary there too would be nice, and making it much less square. That reminds me back at the start you can go left and see the edge of the stage as well. This is something that takes away from presentation in my opinion, would be much nicer if you couldn't see the edge and it was covered up with rocky looking stuff etc. Not sure how easy it would be to fix at that stage though as you would have to move everything to the right. Just in future cases keep that in mind. Then the flow was nice but didn't really appear much for having the level named after it. I feel that should make more appearances in future levels in the series if you make more. Like it could have helped out in the boss fight making it unique instead of just shooting lots of times at something. creating interesting platforming obstacles and ways of accessing odd parts would be easy to implement with flow, I think it''s a nice idea. You could pack it with different obstacles every time like it has a huge arsenal of contraptions to help you on your way. It was a nice level otherwise, just be sure to start using the corner editor, it helps creating more natural looking environments. There's an F4F level in my sig, check it out if you feel like it!2010-04-13 19:20:00

Hi thanks for that cracking review, I thought this level was going to go under the radar.
I will certainly work on those comments, thankfully they aren't any major problems.
I have become a bit more accustomed to the corner editor but the problem is my thermomemter and the main problem is it's number of verticies.
I didn't want this level to be too story based as my style normally has a bit of a higher speed tempo.
I shall certainly see what I can do with regards to your review and of course I shall review yours.
Just out of interest what rating did you give it?
Please if anyone else could give me a review or just rave about how great it is lol then please go ahead

I gave it 4 stars because I think it is a good level, clearly time and effort went into it but as I said in my review some things could be polished. I can't remember the exact tag but it was a good one! 2010-04-13 21:44:00

Top stuff.
Well the main thing for me is consolidating my current 5 stars so I will take ANY criticism seriously so I'll post an update when a few of those niggles are taken care of.
Thanks again, expect my feedback soon
