YES POKEMON BLACK AND WHITE IS COMING YES!

I need to get a DS.

Anyway, it's clear that Nintendo are running out of colors. This means that the "Director's Cut" version will probably be called "Pokemon Gray". Anyway, GIVE ME NEW POKEMANS!

Yeaah, looking forward to it already

Just some of the information I know:

Pok?mon Black Version (Japanese: ポケットモンスター ブラック Pocket Monsters Black) and Pok?mon White Version (Japanese: ポケットモンスター ホワイト Pocket Monsters White) are the primary paired versions of the upcoming Generation V. They will be, like Generation IV's games, on the Nintendo DS.

The first of the new Pok?mon to feature in these games, Zorua and Zoroark, were revealed on February 10, 2010 in CoroCoro magazine. The games' names were revealed on the official Japanese Pok?mon website on April 9, and scans from the subsequent issue of the magazine were leaked on April 10. These scans revealed some of the graphical enhancements that will be featured in these games. There will be a higher level of 3D graphics than in previous games, as shown in some shots of the overworld. Initial sprites can be seen for Zorua, Zoroark, and the as-yet unnamed player characters.

In addition to the improved graphics, a number of aesthetic changes have been made from previous generations, including an altered battle scene, speech balloons for dialog, and a combined Pok?mon Center and Pok? Mart building.

I'm not too excited about this because there just so many pokemon now. And there so fragmented it's hell figuring out how to capture them all, figuring out what games are and are not compatible so you can trade pokemon around so you have them all on 1 game.
I like the old 151, yeah i'm an oldie.

There are only 2 things that would make me buy a new pokemon game:
-Absolutely all pokemon to date can be caught(fair enough dividing it between 2 or 3 games like black/white/beige or something).
-That they change it so when a pokemon enters battle it says it's name like the TV series.
so for example:
*You throw out Pikachu*
"Pika"
*Enemy throws out Wartortle*
"Wartortle!"
Instead of what it is now which is:
*Enemy throws out Wartortle*
"gggzzzhhhhhhhhggtttt!"
Terrible.

Also someone above said it's going to be full 3D?
Is this including the battles? meaning all pokemon are 3D?
Because although 3D pokemon would look good, we are working with the DS and i've played some 3D DS games like dragon quest and final fantasy and i thought the monsters were not as detailed because of low polygon count.
I'd prefer them to stick to 2D for the pokemon so you get the detail.

I think all the things you want would be very possible if Nintendo would finally do what everyone wants them to do and make a real console Pokemon game. With new Pokemon and the huge world and everything. I want Wii Pokemon!

Yeah i discussed with my friend a day or two ago about them making a 'next gen' Pokemon game, they could achieve really good 3D models and effects when doing so.
the only 3D pokemon game i played was Pokemon Colloseam for the gamecube which was okay but it had a weird story and didn't reflect pokemon very well.

My friend thinks they should have gone for a more TV series approach, he gave the example of Brocks eyes being just slits and such.
the style is debatable but i thing a upgrade off Handhelds would pay off.

I think it looks interesting. The screen shots make the battles look similar but different. I dunno, it looks like it could be animated given the blocky look to it unlike the precise pixel art that was used in the last games. I mean look at the shots, reeeeally pixelated and dodgey looking, that could only work if it's animated I think. It would be so good if the battles were animated, omg, I want to see the pokemon run up and slash or tackle, not just have the image nudge to the right which is so lame at this stage. i don't know if it would go that far but even just an animated stance would be nice. The environments look pretty nice, I like the 3d and even though it's a bit blocky and such I think that's the only way it can work. I'd be worried it would come out like the console ones if they were going for the visuals route. Not that the console games even look that good lol I prefer if they focus on game play and animations first then make it look nice.2010-04-13 18:04:00

Well if we're thinking about visuals, I'm pretty sure that nintendo always work on improving visuals. Just look at how far they've already come! I'm just hoping for more awesome pokemon, and a lot to do. I'm thinking at least two regions and two elite fours would be nice (even if it's just going back to sinnoh/hoeon/kanto/johto) - that would be great 2010-04-13 22:04:00

This is very very likely to be coming out on the Nintendo 3DS. The amazing graphics almost confirm that.2010-06-30 16:31:00
