Everyone is has an opinion whats yours. During this years we have seen some pretty cool level pack but the 2 best are the MGS pack and the Pirates of the Caribbean pack but only one can come out on top. From the Metal Gear Solid Premium Level Pack it filled out pop-it with a ton of ?Create? materials, objects and stickers, our Premium Level Packs introduce that and a whole lot more from the Gurlokovich Soldier to the 72 materials, 12 decorations, and 18 objects and more. But lets not forget about Pirates of the Caribbean Premium Level Pack the incredible story line the amazing stickers and the really creative boss battle makes this DLC a must buy for little big planet fan everywhere. Hmmm.. well I never really liked pirates of the caribbean, so maybe my opinion is a bit biased. I for one preferred the MGS pack, as it brought loads of cool materials and gadgets previously unseen by the world of LBP! In the pirates pack, really the only revolutionary thing was the water - which was awesome btw. I personally think it would've been better to just release a water pack with no story-line, as all the PotC gave us apart from water was a few materials that could be imitated with stickers and blue wood! Maybe that's just me..

I liked the MGS levels better and some of the materials (stone) were nice and useful for the levels I like making. The PotC had more useful music though and some good materials as well, plus a few stickers and objects that came in handy quite often.

For me, the MGS pack. It came with tons of new materials, the paintinator, and many stickers and decorations. As Keanster96 said, Mm should just released a water pack and exclude it from the POTC pack.

I don't really know, both are great. If I have to choose one I'll say MGS because the levels offered more challenge. But then again, I prefer water over the paintinator. I voted both, they are not equally good but neither one is better Does that even make sense?

Mmm tough one. Both are good for different reasons. If the POTC pack had come with a new weapon akin to the MGS pack's paintinator it would have been a clearcut victory for POTC but the fact it didn't makes it a close call. I actually used both packs for my new level but if I could have only used 1 of the packs then it would have to have been POTC simply because of the water, therefore POTC still wins for me overall.

Hard to choose whether I prefer the Paintinator or Water as a gameplay mechanic, though I haven't experimented with the latter as much as the former either. The single-player campaign for both are not incredibly remarkable; I liked the level design of the PotC more then the MGS one as it captured the feel of the movies (which emphasized a whimsical adventure) more then the MGS one captured the feel of the games (which emphasized stealth action). On the other hand I find the final battle with Metal Gear to be more fun then the Kraken. Both are easy (the Kraken especially if you realize you can just disarm the first ships without destroying them and completely ignore them for the rest of the fight) but Metal Gear I place slightly ahead because it comes off as more intricately built and has more variety in it's attacks. Costumes I really can't judge well as I actually don't have any of the PotC ones other then the Pelagrosso while I have all of the MGS ones. So the deciding vote is made by the materials, stickers and decorations and for me MGS wins as I find I end up using them a lot more often even when I'm just experimenting. I also like the soundtracks more.

Definitely hard to choose but I found that the inclusion of water implements a little bit more smoothly with the game mechanics. It opens up to more possibilities with puzzles etc. over the paintinator. I love the fact that MGS adds more to the combat aspect to the game; but for me personally, it takes away my attention from what LBP does best. I believe melee combat would fit in more as your still focusing on the space around your character and not focusing too much on the target. While I'm more of a fan of MGS than PotC, I found that the PotC pack included more content that I could use in my own level designs (prefer fantasy over sci-fi), so that's why it gets my vote.

MGS Pack is my opinion. - Better made (less sticker more built stuff) -Boss at the end of pack way more complex and looks better. -While PoTC Introduced only water and stuff related to water only (need water to be useful) MGS pack introduced the 2 most used and popular features so far, Plasma ball, and most imporantly Paintnator/ Paint switch, giving us the opportunity of more complicated and long range puzzles and more ways to make enemies/ beat them(Paintnator/ Paint switch), more ways to make traps, enemy attack, and made possible the "Pass through matter" glitch (Plasma Ball) So yeah, while PotC pack was cool and all, it didn't bring so many essential features. Water is great, don't get me wrong, just that that's the only feature, and not AS useful as the other 2 from MGS together. Based on those reasonsm i say MGS Pack. And i know i voted PotC up there, but it was an accident, meant i meant MGS ok?! >_>)

I enjoyed PoTC more. For starters, pirates actually fits into Mm's distinct style. Rather than trying to create a gritty war atmoshere, they created a colourful adventure. The visuals in both were good, but the PoTC pack was more detailed and colourful. As for gameplay, the MGS pack was bland. It was all "Shoot this to activate this" ect... The PoTC pack had funner gameplay, more variety, and was longer. The MGS boss was better than the PoTC boss however. In terms of the content, I liked both equally. Both had good materials, good music, and good gameplay elements.

Yeah that's not a good place to source your argument lol. I can see what you're saying, especially about the platforming > shoot 'em ups tho, but wasn't there any level on cool pages boasting a paintinator when the MGS pack was released?? (IDK coz i got lbp mid 2009)

Both great, Pirates has water, MGS has the paint gizmos, but personally, stuff like the Spotlight, Plasma hazards, and the sounds of the MGS pack swing it their way for me

Absolutely, definately MGS. I like the water.... but come on! Paintinator action! Plasmas! The spotlight! Blam! Kappow!!! MGS totally changed the face of LittleBigPlanet, and still creates some of the best action today. and without MGS, there would be no Splat Invaders..... which would be a shame.... Seriously. I can't decide on either one. I love BOTH... With the MGS pack, I get the Paintinator (which is SOO outlaw-ish) and a challenging, rewarding experience through the Middle East another method of torture: plasma balls. But with the PoTC pack, I get waters (mastah swimmer here) and a brilliant, colorful devotion to one of my favorite movie series. Oh, and another method of torture: drowning. So... it's sorta split for me. (Imagine... plasmafied Chinese water-torture xD)

I think that the Metal Gear Solid Pack is more useful for creating, the yellow metal and the cardboard that looks like metal materials from the MGS pack are very unique and are probably the only Sci-fi/Military looking materials... very useful. Plus The Plasma, sensor light, 0.0 speed emitter, laser, missiles, paint gun and paint switch... oh, and the MGS sounds are really good too...theres a lot to play with in there. The Pirates of The Caribbean only really has water going for it, I do like the wood materials that come with it, and the building stickers… that’s pretty much it though. Believe it or not though... I voted for PoTC, lol. Just because playing the levels were so much fun, I enjoyed the actual levels far more then the MGS ones. I think they done a good job with em.

Personally I prefer the MGS pack because I think the paintinator is a bit more revoloutionary than water (which is a bit overrated). Plus, the MGS pack itself was way better, the story levels are regarded by many as the best MM levels (wheras many people think the POTC were the worst), the materials were very new and awesome (the POTC didn't have many goodn's apart from sand), the stickers were awesome (not many good ones in POTC), and it probably a more popular franchise with most people.

Paintinator Plasma Spotlight versus: Water I'd go with MGS. I'd go so far as to say half of MGS is as good as water. Materials, stickers, music, sound, and backgrounds: these are features. But things that completely shape the way games are made are what makes a pack the most important, in my opinion. Gameplay-wise, water is air you can swim in. It has other useful features such as layer-shifting blocks, the ability to put out fire, and the new hazard of drowning, but that's about it. A spotlight is useful for stealth levels and is stricter than sensor switches in that it can sense your layer. Plasma is a much more game-changing hazard than water because it can be attached to other materials, float freely, or be flung with emmiters. It can also be delethalized and changed into fire or electricity. Last but not least, the paintinator is like an extension of your player. It can reach where sackboy can't go, provide extra force, be linked with paint switches for tactical assertion, and more.

Oh, I think what really does it for me is the Pirates music. It's not actual music from the movies, I think, but it's epic nonetheless. Am I the only one who thought neither of the level packs' levels were that hot? If I had to pick one it would be pirates due to visual appeal I think but yeah..

Well, both the Metal Gear Solid Pack and the Pirates of the Caribbean Pack are good in their own special way, but I must say that the Pirates Pack was not only one that I enjoyed more, but one that fit the atmosphere and style of LittleBigPlanet a bit better.

I prefered MGS by a long shot - not only were the levels better, but the paintinator added loads more potential to the LBP community. I can live without the water - most of the levels using it suck, the story levels weren't all that great (I was actually disappointed by it).

The war levels were certainly my favorite Mm levels, and the PotC were my least favorite. Water is sluggish, to say the least, and adds very little platforming element that you couldn't have done with a jetpack. The paintinator, however, adds an entirely new element that could not have been made in LBP beforehand. MGS has some awesome sci-fi materials, and the middle eastern stone/relief are my favorite materials. PotC has wooden planks (which you could make on your own with some patience) and sand (which there already is). MGS also added a new switch type, and a new hazard, which PotC had neither of. My point has been made.

I like PoTC the best. I did like the paintnor when it came out, and the new switches and amteriels haelp with creating bosses, but water was like a whole new LBP for me.

I like the PoTC pack a lot better than the MGS pack. The reason behind this is that I find the MGS levels and costumes to be bland when compared to what PoTC offers.
