My cat walked on my laptop and now my keys beep. lol.

And the keys can't be used twice in a row.

I think it's that thing that comes up if you hold a key down for too long, but I can't remember what it was called.
Please help. I have been outsmarted by my cat.

Give the cat what it wants, cat nip. It'll have to give in then and tell you how to stop this!2010-04-11 10:40:00

Haha outsmarted by a cat.
I think what you're talking about is sticky keys or filter keys can't remember, activated by holing the shift key down too long. Some how you can go to an options window and turn them off but I forget how.

EDIT: Go to control panel and click accessibility options and take filter and sticky keys off

Haha, he wanted my fish I was having for dinner. I did give him some even though I was really hungry. I can never say no to my cute kitty.

On some PCs you can also hit Shift 5 times in quick succession to make the sticky keys dialogue pop up. This is what your cat must have done. Try it out... you get this horrendous noise.

Side note: this is very annoying when playing a video game in which the shift key is used.

If nobody uses Sticky Keys, why is it there?

For people who are incapable of pressing multiple buttons at once.

For example, trying to press ctrl+alt+del can be difficult for someone with a physical handicap. If you activate sticky keys, then it's just a matter of pressing ctrl, then alt, then delete.

If you go to the control panel, you should find something called Accessibility Options. This will allow you to disable the kitty induced help system.

They are intended to help those with handicaps, or possibly furry paws. Like for example, Sticky Keys would be helpful for those that can't do Ctrl or Alt commands easily.
