Is it possible to make / place a horizontal cylinder, like a gear/cog that is on its side?? And does anyone have any cogs / gears I can use for my levels I am having a hard time with the pre-made ones. Let me know... Thx. -STEGA | 2010-04-11 05:23:00 Author: Stega Posts: 4 |
you could use decorations creatively on the powerups to make the illusion of a horizontal cog. The pre-made ones work well if one is bolted to DM and the other is being pushed towards it on a arm that is sprung bolted to DM. | 2010-04-11 05:36:00 Author: IStwisted Posts: 428 |
Right I know about the power-ups and now even with the drill in the incredibles pack you can do similar. But other than that no way huh? How exactly do I make something rotate / move into the horizontal position.. Like if I take the pre-cut circle shape for example, is there any way for me to lay it flat on its side??? | 2010-04-11 05:51:00 Author: Stega Posts: 4 |
You may be ablet to create the illusion of a cog on its side with clever layering, but you will not be able to spin it that way. | 2010-04-11 06:42:00 Author: Burnvictim42 Posts: 3322 |
I have tried every way I can think of, and I'm sure tons of other people have too, of rotating objects this way, but it seems that despite all the glitches people have been able to pull off, rotation this way is impossible. LBP just isn't designed to support entirely 3D physics - or, indeed, entirely 3D position of objects. Even the new Incredibles drill's rotational attribute is directly attached to its object "essence", if you get what I mean - it rotates even when you've picked it up, and I think even in pause mode. Unless Mm patch it, rotation in this way remains pretty much impossible. | 2010-04-13 19:41:00 Author: Holguin86 Posts: 875 |
The olny way I think is to use a upgrade, and place it with stickers, or make an animation using clever layering, and spawners. you spawn in a order that will have each frame of the object spinning. and to prevent the dissolve fog, I would probally make it out of glass. this may or may not work. | 2010-04-14 01:51:00 Author: m500games Posts: 23 |
