This came back into mind recently. Remember this?: http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=76&pictureid=997 The design was pretty radical. Probably why it got shelved in favor of a more traditional (if improved) layout. You ever wonder how cool it might be to play with one of these, though? Looking for your thoughts on the thing.

I seriously can't imagine myself holding that, It would feel weird on the hands by the look of it, and I don't think I would be able to reach all the buttons AS easily as I can now. But the "boomerang" would of been a unique controller.

It was supposed to be really comfortable to hold and use. It supposedly fit the curvature of your hands. It was also really small... They canned it because people complained about it, and so they went to the original. Then people are complaining about the Dualshock 3 now, so it's a loose loose situation. I wish they would bring it back though. It looks like it would be perfect for the Sixaxis controls and would seem more 'futuristic' for the console. They should make a special edition. Rumble and all that. Because I know I'd be getting one. Probably a good amount of people would, too. After all, they've still got the designs, there. Actually, for my PS2 I still have a third-party controller that has a somewhat similar design. The curved, flowing appeal, as opposed to the DualShock's more blocky design. I mean, I love the DualShock's blockiness, because it's easy to manipulate. But dang if that one controller wasn't comfortable... It was just my backup, and I never got around to getting used to the feel of it, I just used my standard-issue. It does, however, eliminate those people who never got Playstations because they didn't like the squarishness of the controller. (Me? I like the dual bumpers. And it got better with the Sixaxis and deeper draw.)
