Hi, I've been working on some new levels, and I'd love if some people would help test it for bugs and glitches Im not a new creator, I got the game Christmas '08, so my levels aren't horrible. Ask away! Current playtesters: Keanster96 AbstractSam | 2010-04-10 23:34:00 Author: nitewalker11 Posts: 222 |

OK, I'll send PM's to both of you with the code for the lockbox @AbstractSam: Is that your PSN? | 2010-04-11 17:00:00 Author: nitewalker11 Posts: 222 |
Haha when I got the PM I forgot all about this thread... I need to stop promising to do things at 2:00Am... I always forget lol. Okay, that out the way, I give you: my verdict. The Sunflower Okay, this was the first of the levels I played, as it was the only one with an icon. 1st impressions of the level: Very cool - I'm liking the textures of the bricks and I love the way it's all laid out - all curvy and triangular. The ruins gave a nice effect of history and wonder - like something had happened here before. The vine decals on the sides were a nice effect, if a little cliched... Moving on, the first tree I saw was a little.. ugly. I think a skinnier trunk and branches with leaves on would sort out this little niggle - also, though the sunflower was well built, it would look better if the stem was a tad darker and I can't see the whole thing because of the camera angle. The second tree suffers from the same physical let downs that the 1st one had, as it's pretty much the same tree. The third one also has... well yeah you get the idea. SORT OUT THE TREES. Lol. The fonts used in this level are pretty great, and the logo for the level is well-strung. I can finally see the head of the plant! Okay, as we pass over an empty path, the player arrives at a hollow ruin with nice detail. The lever hut could do with more detail, but it serves the purpose required. The bridge was simply a plank of wood, but again, it serves the purpose required. <TREE!> The sunflower could be darker stemmed, as I've said before... Okay, it's the first piece of platforming encountered in the level - a simple rope swing. I found the steps at the end somewhat hard to climb, but maybe thats just me. ****! first death. Over the second set of swings, and it looks like the level continues with it's curvy triangular theme... Hmm.. I died when the platform with the windmill just wasn't easy enough to land on - I'm sure this wasn't done on purpose as the decorative windmill stops the changing of layers after a certain point. The next piece of platforming found is the already infamous pipe-with-ropes-on-end-which-have-a-piece-of-grabby-bit-on-so-the-player-can-grab-them-challenge. Catchy, huh? I think more detail could be added here - maybe split up the column into wave-like details...? Anyway, the bird-idol-thing on the platform above is highly mysterious. The symbols on the base were great pieces of art. So. The plot thickens. So we encounter another set of swings, at the end of which is an entrance to a cavern... who knows what lies inside...? It's getting darker, and darker, and then... I fell out of the level. The whole thing looks great! just sort out the trees and I'll have no issues with this level. I hope you finish soon! @Keanster-Thanks for the feedback. Haha, trees aren't my thing, but I'll do my best to make them look a little better. I'm glad you liked my sunflower font, I was thinking about changing it to something more refined looking, but now I guess I'm keeping it. I"m gonna make the Switch room and the bridge more detailed, those were just rough copys. I'm not going into a cave anymore, but somewhere a little different. I update usually twice a week, and I'll probably be updating sometime tonight, if I get the chance. But thanks for the advice @AbstractSam-I sent you a message with the code | 2010-04-12 01:45:00 Author: nitewalker11 Posts: 222 |
