one layer scoreboard problem

Archive: 10 posts

I have a one layer scoreboard in my level, and sometimes it doesn't activate with more than 2 players.
I have also been having trouble with other people playing with me, and if they get stuck behind, no countdown happens and the camera goes really wide.
Not sure if these are related.

Any advice?

Make sure the base of the scoreboard is not being blocked. In other words, all players need to be standing where the base would have been.

As for behind... just block it off. The scoreboard doesn't activate if you are behind it... only in front of it.

If you have nothing in the back layer just put the scoreboard in the back thin layer.2010-04-10 15:05:00

Do you mean on the same ground level? Or the slightly raised base of the scoreboard?

@robotoiod: It needs to be in the behind the front layer for a contest.

Hey dude when comphermc said that it needs to not be blocked, it think he meant that you could have the base be below the ground if you are not careful and when that happens, you are too far above it to activate it. So what I would do is place a regular scoreboard and then dissolve the base when you have it where you want it. Then fix the back 2 layers where the scoreboard was embedded and THEN move it forward and glue it. Hope that helps. Peace!2010-04-10 22:16:00

If you want the base of the scoreboard to be one layer thick instead of three, trace around it with a piece of cardboard in the thin layer in front using the corner edit tool. Then, dissolve the base, and thicken the piece of cardboard to however thick you want without changing its position. Then, glue it to your scoreboard. It won't block any part of the scoreboard this way.2010-04-13 19:47:00

Did you mean through out the level? (not just at the score board) "Other people" playing with you via PSN or on the same system?

Is there a way to intentionally cause this to happen?

Throughout the level. They would respawn at an earlier checkpoint even though it was offscreen. Via PSN.
It didn't happen all the time, so I don't think you can recreate it.
It happened after the archway (with bolt score bubbles upside stuck to the roof) in my level. (in sig) It might be how the cameras were set up? I don't know much about cameras so I just plonked a whole bunch of zoomed out ones in that area.
It seems to have corrected itself now, as it hasn't happened since I started this topic. Go figure.
