Harrier?

Well I was recently viewing the "Six Axis Control" thread and it inspired me to make some sort of flying machine, but what?
Today I was thinking about making a bomber sort of thing when I remembered the thread above, then I was trying to think of an aircraft that combined "levitation" with the bomber method that I will describe in a second. When I thought of the Harrier, I was thinking about how to make it possible for the player to through the various controls (which I will talk about) while keeping the plane completely stable, at the same time keeping the controls not too spread out while maintaining comfortable controls. All of this while making the plane relatively mid-sized, the functions of this plane I would make, may be chosen from a list of: Drop activated missiles (no emitters), the bomber under belly thing that holds the bombs (also no emitters), machine gun, aim machine gun, forward, backward, ascend, descend, and open/close the hatch. The payload will drop by "doors" opening and releasing bombs that were formally attached to dissolve material, not very creative but it should work.

My only problems are how does the "fall switch" Dante95 explained work and how would it look, would I be able to keep the controls compact, and do all this while some what managing the thermo?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I thought of most of this while typing this thread.
