LBP ‘Turbo! Pack’ Development Diary (http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2010/04/09/lbp-turbo-pack-development-diary/) Looks like LittleBigPlanet PSP's first Level Pack may be on its way. http://lbp.i.lithium.com/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif "We want the ‘Turbo! Ever built a race track out of books and rulers and anything else you could find to hand? Constructed cardboard box forts and staged extensive battles with your toy soldiers? Well that’s exactly what we’ve done! We hope you’ll be as inspired by all the new possibilities as we have been." http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2689/4505329428_5c3b6b10e0.jpg Check out the link above for the full article. However it definitely sounds like a great concept for a Level Pack and it's interesting to read the developer's views on the current issues encountered whilst creating a race level in LittleBigPlanet. *Props to StevenI for pointing this out. | 2010-04-09 17:55:00 Author: mnimmo1986 Posts: 552 |
Awesome - thanks mnimmo! I'm probably most excited about the wheel objects, but the background looks interesting too. Katamari anyone? Hmm, there's no word on whether or not there's going to be new sounds and/or music to go with this content, but I hope so. In addition to the above two screenshots, this was also posted on the EU blog: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4027/4505329404_916ba6f898.jpg | 2010-04-09 18:11:00 Author: Taffey Posts: 3187 |

In addition to the above two screenshots, this was also posted on the EU blog: Yeah, was just a condensed post. Plus I sorta stole it from StevenI I've not really played about with the sounds in the PSP version. What are the transport sounds like? Anything that would fit a racing theme? If not surely this would be a perfect opportunity to add some sounds. I mean to be fair we are way overdue a decent level pack of any sort considering the length of time the game has been out. I really would not be surprised if this was a fairly big pack. | 2010-04-09 18:19:00 Author: mnimmo1986 Posts: 552 |
New stickers? New materials? New Levels? New background? *Faints* | 2010-04-09 18:36:00 Author: Fastbro Posts: 1277 |
Epic news! Looking forward to this. Wait, my super secret contacts have just informed me that the following musics will come with the pack: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3kYqIui_Xc (Just kidding, of course) | 2010-04-09 18:43:00 Author: Gilgamesh Posts: 2536 |
Thought I'd randomly omit one image from my post to give at least one new image for people to see when they click on the link to read the original article. Personally I thought the comments on the concept of racing levels within LittleBigPlanet was a very interesting read and a great reason to check out the news post and read the developer's comments for yourselves. Oh and you're right about that music, Gilgamesh. Rock 'N' Roll Racing was a classic game. None the less though, it would definitely be great to see some new original music added to LittleBigPlanet PSP. Jim Fowler did a great job with the original music that he created for the game's initial release and I'd certainly like to see some more of his music added to the game. | 2010-04-09 18:57:00 Author: StevenI Community Manager Posts: 420 |
I've not really played about with the sounds in the PSP version. What are the transport sounds like? Anything that would fit a racing theme? The transport sound objects are more or less identical to the PS3 sounds, minus maybe one of the engine noises I think. The PSP sounds are not quite as tweakable as the PS3 ones though. The PS3 "helicopter" noise can be tweaked until there are no blade noises (so that it sounds like a jet), but that is not the case on the PSP. The same thing is true for the "subway" sound - you can never get rid of the clicking of the wheels on the PSP. As for the car noises, I don't think you can make them sound like they're going in reverse and I'm pretty sure there's no tire noise. I definitely think there is room for a hot rod and/or racecar sound object, and it would be nice to have something like a "race start" noise like a typical racing video game might have. Tire squeals and different crashing noises would be great as well. As for the music, I totally agree that anything by Fowler would be awesome. | 2010-04-09 19:13:00 Author: Taffey Posts: 3187 |
Wow hopefully it's as helpful as the creator pack was to the PS3 version, the wheel object will help alot aswell and I'm sure we all knew we needed more stickers since we can't make or photograph our own, as for materials, nothing ever seemed to match exactly what I wanted, and had to make do, which in my opinion brought the overall look of the level down with it, hopefully this can amend the issue. Until then, WOO! Pete | 2010-04-09 19:50:00 Author: Pete1991 Posts: 225 |
This. Looks. AMAZANG! I've always wanted to do a toy-themed level, something like the galaxy in SMG. I'm so getting this! | 2010-04-09 20:13:00 Author: Voltergeist Posts: 1702 |

when DOES it come out!?!? hopefuly thursday! i/ve been waiting for a level pack and NOW here is the perfect one for my new levels im creating! WOOT! heres the whole story of creating the turbo pack!: 04/09/2010Turbo! Pack Development Diary‘Turbo! Pack’ Development Diary 1: ‘Short Circuit’ – Jon Torrens, Designer Here at the Cambridge Studio, we’ve been playing a lot of community levels, and we’ve been really impressed with a lot of them. In fact we’ve been so inspired, that we decided to create something special that we hope will, in turn, inspire the community: the ‘Turbo! Pack’. We want the Turbo! Pack to be full of cool vehicles, with some action-packed levels to use them in. Currently we’re working on a race level, where you get to drive a Monster Truck and a Racing Car. Lots of creators like to make a rocket car of some description, but there are a couple of problems with super fast vehicles in LittleBigPlanet: Sooner or later you’re going to hit the edge of the level. There’s no penalty for going too fast. Just moving very fast is all very well, but we wanted to have circuits, like a real race track. At first we tried a vertically scrolling track, with emitted track sections, like a shoot-em-up. But no cornering was required. Our solution? Stick the car to the track’s surface using rockets (which we have seen done in a community level), and move the car round the edge of a central object, a little bit like driving along the surface of a really small planet. Go too fast and you’ll detach and crash. Then we realised that as well as race cars, we like souped-up hot rods, so we made one of those. But this time, we wanted a different way to stop the player just going flat out, so we made it so that the hot rod’s engine can overheat if you rev it constantly. When you hear the warning sound, you need to step off the gas, or you’ll find yourself going nowhere fast. Speed, efficiency, and a nice flat surface are fine for race cars, but we all wanted to drive a behemoth, and thus was born the Monster Truck. We wanted to use motor bolts instead of rockets for the Monster Truck, but motor bolts make wheels start turning very quickly, very suddenly – which meant this bad boy tended to fall over, because its centre of gravity was so high. What we needed was gradual acceleration, and the mechanism we made for this is pretty simple: grabbing the accelerator sponge contracts a piston, with a magnetic key on the end. Its magnetic key switch is set to speed, and connected to the wheel motor bolts. The closer the magnetic key gets to its switch, the faster the wheels go; the piston takes a couple of seconds to contract, so time the wheels take to reach their top speed is a couple of seconds (and not a couple of hundredths of a second). Problem solved. The Monster Truck’s still a bit unstable, but it can roll over all kinds of rough terrain. And that’s how we made our first three cool vehicles. You can find some of them (and their individual parts) in prize bubbles scattered throughout the level. Complete ‘Short Circuit’, and you’ll get the Red Racing Car and the Hotrod. But for the Blue Racing Car and the Monster Truck, you’ll need to collect all the prize bubbles in the level. ‘Turbo! Pack’ Development Diary 2: ‘Short Circuit’ – Laura Dilloway, Artist We’re all really excited by the new theme we’re developing for the ‘Turbo! Pack’. It’s been through a few iterations because you’ve given us so many ideas that we had to find a theme that would encompass them all, but we think we’ve finally cracked it. We wanted something completely different from the story levels, so for Sackboy’s new adventures you’ll be leaping and bounding through a particularly well-stocked kid’s bedroom. Ever built a race track out of books and rulers and anything else you could find to hand? Constructed cardboard box forts and staged extensive battles with your toy soldiers? Well that’s exactly what we’ve done! We hope you’ll be as inspired by all the new possibilities as we have been. The race level was a bit of a funny one in terms of art, partly because some of it is pretty abstract and it was hard to keep it within the new theme, and partly because there’s just so much of it! Jon mapped out the level very comprehensive ly when he designed it, so transforming it into the new theme was fairly easy to visualise. The only problem was the memory thermometer! There are four distinct sections that have each been dressed in a slightly different way, and it was a struggle trying to make each area look cool and interesting with a limited number of materials and stickers (and without sacrificing any of the level design). Optimisation was really important on this level, right down to completely streamlining all the logic! Working on the vehicles for this pack was really great fun, and this level gives you three awesome new cars. To make all our vehicles extra special we’ve created them using 3D objects. “That’s cheating” we hear you cry! Well maybe a little. But we’ve also provided you with every single vehicle and every single component part of that vehicle so that you can build your very own crazy contraptions. Hot rod engine with a racing car chassis and monster truck wheels? No problem. Next time, see how we made something more constructive… an OVERHEATING engine! WOW thats awesome! and they used 3D materials AND we get them?!? | 2010-04-09 22:14:00 Author: fatcat1413 Posts: 132 |
^Then what's the link for, oh so you don't have to make a huge post like that. But anyways, yes! Finally, something worth buying! | 2010-04-09 22:49:00 Author: Silver39 Posts: 1703 |
Sorry for the double post. But i just realized a huge con in this pack. They'll probably give away the cars as prize bubbles so you can expect more "SOOPER AWZUM RACECAR LVLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!" on My Moon. | 2010-04-09 22:52:00 Author: Silver39 Posts: 1703 |
eh its still awesome and sorry for the mega post. i WAS just sooo excited! going to be awesome being able to use the stalling engine on some of my creations! and the 3D objects! | 2010-04-09 23:00:00 Author: fatcat1413 Posts: 132 |
It sounds really good, but from what I've been reading. Unless the race level is the last/only level. They will take awhile to realease this pack. | 2010-04-09 23:04:00 Author: Silver39 Posts: 1703 |
yea, unless they.ve been working on this pack for weeks/months already! | 2010-04-09 23:07:00 Author: fatcat1413 Posts: 132 |
Really excited for this if there's more to it! Would love some new wheelz! BTW, How come there are no "material outlines" on the vehicles? | 2010-04-10 00:20:00 Author: Night Angel Posts: 1214 |
idk y theres not a material outline, just the way cambridge makes their vehicles i guess :/ | 2010-04-10 00:24:00 Author: fatcat1413 Posts: 132 |
yea, unless they.ve been working on this pack for weeks/months already!Well it certainly doesn't look like they started on it yesterday. This is very exciting indeed. I'll make sure my PSN wallet is stocked and ready for whenever this is released. BTW, How come there are no "material outlines" on the vehicles?Magic. | 2010-04-10 00:58:00 Author: Taffey Posts: 3187 |
hmm... level pack.... Hopefully this level pack consist of more than one level. (Most likely won't!) Anyways, I'm just glad a new add on is coming to LBP PSP. Oh, and there is no material outline because the vehicles are 3D (Dam, they have an advantage over us) | 2010-04-10 01:00:00 Author: Spark151 Posts: 801 |
u can make a stalling engine and accelerating engine w/out that pack | 2010-04-10 03:22:00 Author: Alismuffin Posts: 1328 |
^Ya, but the point of the pack is for new backgrounds, music, materials, stickers, sounds, and objects. Anything i missed? | 2010-04-10 03:34:00 Author: Silver39 Posts: 1703 |
yea i know i was just pointing out that those features arent exactly mindblowing | 2010-04-10 03:37:00 Author: Alismuffin Posts: 1328 |

I JUST CANT TELL YOU HOW MUCH DISSAPOINTMENT I WILL HAVE IF THIS ISN'T FREE. I WILL PROBABLY TRY TO GET HOLD OF CAMBRIDGE AND TELL THEM TO MAKE IT FREE BEFOR THEY RELEASE IT becuase if you build something and it is really good you would want everybody to have it/see it but you cant do that by making it not free because then it is limiting all the people that cant play it or haven't got credit cards or whatever you to need to 'buy' it. so...why not make it free? so then everyone can play it ! PWEASE MAKE IT FREE ! i'm not moaning i'd just like everybody to see my point of view on this. (see what i mean?) SockFace | 2010-04-10 13:45:00 Author: SockFace Posts: 190 |

I'm afraid to say I think it's very unlikely that this is going to be free. Games developers don't make games just for the love of it, unfortunately. There is an argument that releasing downloadable content could increase sales of the base game, but the number of people who are already attracted to the game, haven't yet purchased it, and would be encouraged to do so by the release of this pack as free content is likely to be so small it simply wouldn't be worth making. It would be different if we had to pay a subscription to use the online service, but we don't and Cambridge have to make the upkeep of the community economically viable otherwise we wouldn't have anything at all. | 2010-04-10 14:43:00 Author: SalieriAAX Posts: 421 |

Which would you prefer, a ?3-5 DLC pack or no more DLC at all......? I'm afraid writing or e-mailing them won't make much difference either. | 2010-04-10 16:37:00 Author: Pete1991 Posts: 225 |

Maybe he doesn't have the money. I don't ether, and I am relying on winning contests for DLC. So far all the contests I have entered that give you DLC, aren't over yet. | 2010-04-11 01:58:00 Author: ConverseFox Posts: 2333 |
Unfortunately I'm stuck with using my PS3 account to buy DLC. And even worse, my PS3 can't get it's update! That's how you do a madface meatwad.^ | 2010-04-11 02:05:00 Author: Silver39 Posts: 1703 |
I'm still young, but sure heck I can buy this level pack. And, this certainly won't be free, but I'm willing to pay over $5 or $10 for this pack. | 2010-04-11 10:24:00 Author: TheNerd Posts: 840 |

An interesting pack. It would seem they took inspiration from MattAstr's The Garage levels. PS: I'm sure they won't be free. Level packs of the PS3 never are. But they come with great extras: levels, costumes, stickers, materials, background, music, new tools... They're worth it! | 2010-04-12 09:57:00 Author: Lleonard Pler Posts: 277 |

Dunno about the new tools, I think it's probably just levels, materials and stickers(and the car objects) | 2010-04-12 15:45:00 Author: Unknown User |
Sounds awesome, but I would almost prefer a different kind of pack... Maybe a mechanical pack like mentioned before in the forums? However, I'm still looking forward to this! All we need is a release date... | 2010-04-19 16:20:00 Author: Unknown User |
okay..so if I win those 'YWMTMW' or other contests that means I will have some money...? LOLZ sorry if I just misinterpreted what that guy said on page 3. I couldn't reply with a quote about the person who i'm talking about because the quote got lost because my computer re-directed me to page 4. LOL whatta idiotic computer LOL and btw i haven't got a PSN card whatever that is, so er to answer that question also on page 3 ...no. *cough cough* SockFace :star: maybe the star thingy didn't work..nevermind lol. Excellent pair of blog entries - the construction stuff looks awesome! Of course, the very first comment posted on the blog is someone hopelessly whining about something inane. I gotta stop reading those comments. | 2010-04-23 22:00:00 Author: Taffey Posts: 3187 |

From the looks of it, this level pack will consist more than one level. I say that because there is a level key meaning that there should be at least two levels. | 2010-04-24 03:06:00 Author: Spark151 Posts: 801 |
I think there will be more than that. So far they've shown us previews of the first two levels, and in one of the pictures it has a level key. this would suggest that there should be around 4-5 levels in this pack. It's good that they've started making 3D objects rather than vechile parts, because it adds that ps3 touch to a level. From the looks of it, this pack may not be realeased for a while since they are only showing the first two levels. I just hope it's quite soon, because i've just had a brilliant level idea that requires this pack! It also looks like the next level will be some sort of clown show or something, because at the end of the third post it says: 'Next time, I think we’ll do something silly.' | 2010-04-24 08:43:00 Author: The Forgotten Posts: 316 |
I'd say maybe 3-4 levels and 2 minigames. Just like the story worlds | 2010-04-24 10:36:00 Author: Unknown User |
I'd say maybe 3-4 levels and 2 minigames. Just like the story worlds I have an odd feeling you're right. Plus they will probably add in a new car. When do you guys think this will come out? I'm hoping soon. | 2010-04-24 12:10:00 Author: TheNerd Posts: 840 |
Hey guys I think in one of the pictures they show a race helmet as a prizebubble. Could there be new costumes in the pack as well? | 2010-04-24 16:40:00 Author: xX-EPIC_MEATWAD-Xx Posts: 160 |
Hey guys I think in one of the pictures they show a race helmet as a prizebubble. Could there be new costumes in the pack as well? Most definitely. I doubt they would release a pack this big without costumes. There will probably be a racing driver costume, consisting of a helmet, suit and trousers. There would also be a construction worker and a clown costume. These would include a sort of vest, boots and gloves and the clown costume in the pre-release trailer. | 2010-04-25 20:36:00 Author: The Forgotten Posts: 316 |
Wheels look awesome (and are round!), new mats look cool too. 3D story mode characters look ugly, however. Still a definate buy. I hope they're not going to slap these vehicles into the goodies bag or they'll be in countless terrible levels soon. Make your own stuff, people! Some kind of gun next please Cambridge? My Contra level is hopeless without it... | 2010-04-26 14:09:00 Author: Bovrillor Posts: 309 |

Murr, Not sure about this one. Never really been too into LBP PSP, and buying the packs seems a bit meh. While they may make me think more of the game, they may not. I'll wait until it comes out and see some reviews for it first. | 2010-04-27 14:58:00 Author: Skeggers Posts: 583 |

The submarine looks clunky and ugly, but the tank looks awesome. It will be a certainly interesting pack. By the way, I see new materials there! In addition to new backgrounds and stickers, this will rock. | 2010-05-07 20:26:00 Author: Lleonard Pler Posts: 277 |

An interesting pack. It would seem they took inspiration from MattAstr's The Garage levels. Well, it seems you were right. (From Sackies, regarding The Garage) "An obvious inspiration for the upcoming Turbo! Premium Level Kit" That's pretty cool! | 2010-05-07 22:48:00 Author: MattAstr Posts: 99 |
Yours was a very innovative level, so it was only natural that the developers took inspiration from it to expand the possibilities of LBP PSP. Congratulations for winning on your category, btw! | 2010-05-07 23:00:00 Author: Lleonard Pler Posts: 277 |

When it will come. I have waited like an mounth. Well, it won't come for at least two weeks, since next week we will be seeing the release of the "Jungle Sackfari" pack. It probably won't come the week after that, as they release dlc every two weeks. So we are looking at about 3 week until it comes out. I have every single item of dlc apart from the uncharted costumes and the new sackies sticker. I'm going to buy next weeks dlc, but i only have 14 on my psn account and I don't know how much this pack will cost. I'm hoping it will be less than 10. There's still a few more dev diaries to come, probably one more level and two minigames. | 2010-05-08 14:36:00 Author: The Forgotten Posts: 316 |

The submarine looks cool to me - kind of cartoony like the green sub sticker. Its buoyancy system sounds ingenious. The tank and accompanying level looks ridiculously awesome. Yeah, and in the Dev Diaries, they specifically say that they give you the submarines basic parts to allow you to create your own/better submarine. So quit worrying about the sub! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktHOTkg-yaw There are many things I notice in this video... Some of the more important ones are: There are 3 variations of the tank. One standard tank, one that fires surface to air missiles and one that builds bridges. The bridge building one can be seen about 40 seconds in. About 1 minute 2 seconds you see the tank with the SAMs firing, the tank itself is seen numerous times. There is a Jet! And it looks awesome. 1 minute 8 seconds you can see the jet with what appears to be a wrecking ball attached Also, you can see in the beginning that you seem to build the yellow car. The video shows a tire shoot out of a cannon and attach to the car. shortly afterward you see the body of the car drop onto the frame One last thing, It seems that you are inside of an internal combustion engine at the very beginning. Sackboy is standing on a piston in the combustion chamber. | 2010-05-12 09:52:00 Author: Captain Rule Posts: 360 |

WOW! We will get airplane and rocket luncher! And some device for building bridges (we have only part of it on video). http://lbprussia.ucoz.ru/images/Turbo/rocket.jpg http://lbprussia.ucoz.ru/images/Turbo/plane.jpg And what do you think about this explosive methods: before: http://lbprussia.ucoz.ru/images/Turbo/boom.jpg after: http://lbprussia.ucoz.ru/images/Turbo/boom2.jpg How it can be done: using unprotected creature brain or with some new dissolved material, or author made opportunity to stretch sticker on whole material sides? I think that it was madded with unprotected creature brain, because score increased on 50 points after hit. | 2010-05-12 10:27:00 Author: Domik12 Posts: 838 |
They said in one of the Dev Diaries that the wall is destroyed using brains. | 2010-05-12 10:36:00 Author: Bovrillor Posts: 309 |
You're right Domik! In the Blog it say's: Now where would we be if we couldn?t blow anything up with our lovely tank, hmm? Very sad Sackpeople indeed. Impact explosives won?t physically blow material up and leave a hole, and using dissolve everywhere can look kind of ugly because well, it's only ever going to look green and stickered. But we?ll let you into a little secret ? it's amazing what you can do with an unprotected brain and an emitter! Add some linear and angular velocity to your emitted fragments for a proper explosion effect, and don't forget to add some stickers to the blast hole to make it look nice and charred. | 2010-05-12 10:37:00 Author: Dhana777 Posts: 122 |
I'm wondering how they hid the brain... is it somewhere inside the object being destroyed, or do they have a 'clone' level running out of sight? | 2010-05-12 11:35:00 Author: Bovrillor Posts: 309 |
I'm wondering how they hid the brain... is it somewhere inside the object being destroyed, or do they have a 'clone' level running out of sight? It is possible, to hide a brain inside an objekt. You have to attach the brain to your objekt, then detach it and now you can place this brain in your object. | 2010-05-12 13:03:00 Author: Dhana777 Posts: 122 |

At first, I was only somewhat excited by this, as I saw 6 music files and figured that meant five sounds and one new song. But SIX NEW TUNES! I am loving this pack more by the minute. Also, I want to say something. While the rocket cars and camels were one trick ponies, these new vehicles will have some pretty cool implementations, so try to back off the stigma that using them will kill your level. While I too expect noob levels to come with this pack, don't write off using them just yet. And three, two, one, *Neg rep times 80* | 2010-05-14 21:20:00 Author: Voltergeist Posts: 1702 |
@Bluebulletbill - no matter how cool the story objects look, levels will be just that bit better if everything is all custom. Also, hope it's ?3.99 or something similar over in the UK | 2010-05-14 23:11:00 Author: Unknown User |

Hope the store updates early, I'm always at work when the dlc is put up. I have to take a break every time, just to download it before I go home (need some internet at home.) Really? Hey I guess I might have to pick up one of those and a 32oz. Dr. Pepper next time I'm there eh? Yep, believe it or not 7-Eleven is the place, at least around the Bay Area. None of the grocery stores seem to have them, and Gamestop is chronically out of stock. (I tend to buy them often for birthday presents and the like as they fit nicely in card envelopes.) So, where in CA are you? Oh, Dr. P FTW. | 2010-05-15 19:19:00 Author: Taffey Posts: 3187 |
Oh, Dr. P FTW. Hell to the YES! Most people don't know what's included in those 23 flavors, but I'm pretty sure it contains cocaine, pot, heroin, meth, and nyquil. That stuff is the bomb. | 2010-05-15 20:32:00 Author: Voltergeist Posts: 1702 |
One other option for those without access to a credit card is to use an American Express gift card. You can buy them almost anywhere in relatively small denominations and they work great. I haven't tried Mastercard or Visa, but I can confirm 100% that Amex gift cards work on PSN. | 2010-05-15 20:37:00 Author: Taffey Posts: 3187 |
Hell to the YES! Most people don't know what's included in those 23 flavors, but I'm pretty sure it contains cocaine, pot, heroin, meth, and nyquil. You can? The PS Store only seems to give me the 5 and 10 options. Just go to buy something without adding the funds and it will prompt you to confirm the funding of the required amount. Minimum is ?5 in the UK. And re: Amex gift cards... probably won't work in the EU store, Amex has a bad rep in the UK. | 2010-05-15 22:41:00 Author: Bovrillor Posts: 309 |

Sweet! Now all I have to do is wait until it's time to go home... Great, time has now slowed to a crawl. Perhaps I'll organize my paper clips while I wait. | 2010-05-19 00:22:00 Author: Taffey Posts: 3187 |

Brick Material for the win! So far I've got 100% on the first two levels on my first try. The last race in Short Circuit is so addicting! 3rd level is A to the M to the AZING. Soldiers look really stupid with those spikes attached. | 2010-05-19 00:37:00 Author: Silver39 Posts: 1703 |
Wow! I just managed to beat all 6 levels. THIS PACK IS PACKED WITH AMAZING STUFF!!!!! I'm done, now all I have to do is Ace them all... -_- | 2010-05-19 02:31:00 Author: Spark151 Posts: 801 |

Well, that was a BLAST! While at times the long bridge and plane segments grew boring, the pack overall was worth the wait and price! On the other hand, no 100%, no aces. Let's hope my PSP doesn't become reacquainted with Mr. Wall again. ;p | 2010-05-19 03:05:00 Author: Voltergeist Posts: 1702 |

/Presses no longer existing Negative Rep Button/ Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but no one wants you to sit around and mope to us that you can't get it. Yeah, it's not exactly fun for you, but it's not fair to us to say we can't enjoy it just because one sad sack (See what I did there? Huh?) can't get it. No one's forcing you to stay and read this thread anyways. So either suck it up or leave. | 2010-05-19 03:18:00 Author: Voltergeist Posts: 1702 |

This pack is amazing! Except for the stupid Harrier. (The Plane). The controls are way to close to each other and it's too hard to fly. But anyways, I got the pack exactly when PSN posted it in Chicago (5:00 PM, Central Time). I <3 Turbo! :star::star::star::star::star: | 2010-05-19 03:38:00 Author: iSkate Posts: 13 |
Oh, Dr. P FTW. I live in the Sacramento area. TONS of 7-Elevens around here. You can pretty much call me a soda junkie! | 2010-05-19 04:17:00 Author: xX-EPIC_MEATWAD-Xx Posts: 160 |

I have a completely different problem... The Turbo Pack is up for me, but for some reason, PSN has suddenly decided that it won't let me add funds to my account I just added funds last Friday when I bought the Sackfari pack, so I know that everything is fine. I tried adding a different credit card, and that one also wouldn't let me add any money I'm trying to figure it out, but it makes it a lot harder that I'm in China. It would be so easy if I was in America and could just buy a PSN card... | 2010-05-19 13:13:00 Author: amazingflyingpoo Posts: 1515 |

Its up on EU store now, you have to search until they update the main page. It's ?4.79 so at least we didn't get price-shafted this time. Companies like Infinity Ward could learn a thing or two from MM/Cambridge about value for money. | 2010-05-19 15:10:00 Author: Bovrillor Posts: 309 |
I bought it a couple hours ago. The levels are much longer (and harder) than I expected. Most of the vehicles are fun to use. Each new material I get feels like Christmas hehe. | 2010-05-19 22:32:00 Author: Lleonard Pler Posts: 277 |

You may not realize this, but Cambridge won't let you do that. A. You can't put game pieces into prize bubbles. B. You can't edit a level with DLC that you don't have. (See the Imaginthon for example.) Sorry, but it's best to just hold off until you can afford it. | 2010-05-20 01:12:00 Author: Voltergeist Posts: 1702 |

I gotta say this pack is everything I hoped for! The levels are long and full of great moments (though perhaps not as pretty as the story mode levels, and some of the soldiers could've done with throwing microbombs instead of impact bombs), the materials are excellent and there's quite a few useful new objects in there. Not really sure what the point of the vehicle components is... can't see myself using those. I guess the complete vehicles will be useful to beginners though. The other bits and pieces, especially the tyres/wheels are GREAT! The Pogo Stick is so good, I think it should have gone in Tools along with the Jetpack. If Cambridge keep churning out packs like this, I'll have to buy them all! The value for money is fantastic, even when compared to the themes from PS3. Now how about giving us some form of hand-held projectile weapon in the next one? OK so it won't be the paintinator, but frankly ANYTHING would do. My Contra level is going nowhere without it! | 2010-05-20 10:30:00 Author: Bovrillor Posts: 309 |

Yes you can put it in a bubble, but it still won't work unless the recipient has bought the DLC. There's no getting around it. The hardest for me, was "Tanks a Lot" Now I'm just toying around with my new objects. Its a little hard to make your own vehicle.I made my own tank and race car though. / Imaginative username Just noticed there's Development Diary 11+12 on the PSN site now... since the pack is already out I imagine people will overlook it, which is a shame 'cus there's one really awesome create tip in there... Apparently you can remove the 'Bevel' (ie the sloping edges) on materials that have one... all you have to do is add 2 vertices on any long side, and slowly move them closer to each other. The closer they get, the smaller the bevel becomes. It works and it's awesome! Particularly useful for hiding 'seams' between objects. | 2010-05-24 11:17:00 Author: Bovrillor Posts: 309 |

Has anyone noticed if you put a bridge builder into a level in edit mode and go to play mode(from the menu or edit mode), The level won't play. The game gets stuck at the loading screen. Leading to the deletion of the level you worked so hard on. | 2010-05-27 03:14:00 Author: ConverseFox Posts: 2333 |
It's not just the bridge builder. I was making a level to continue the story, but it never loaded when I went back to edit mode. AND I never even put in a bridge builder. It may be the game items. I'll check it out once more. | 2010-05-27 08:32:00 Author: TheNerd Posts: 840 |

thanks, but i already finished all the levels at 100%, except for the "Hop To It" but i haven't obtained that sticker... That's because you didn't ACE the level. Acing a level means you beat it without dying. When it says 100% objects found, it doesn't include acing objects because you don't find them, you earn them. | 2010-05-27 11:26:00 Author: ConverseFox Posts: 2333 |
Hey all. Sorry to take this thread into rewind, but I feel it's important to point something out - If the levels weren't DLC blocked, giving Cory an editable version wouldn't be pirating, just as me making a demo of Wilderness and Temples for Bov isn't pirating. He still couldn't play the levels. Even if he could, it's still not pirating. Giving him the licence and file would be. Using a game wouldn't. In review, 1. We can talk about it here. (Because it's not pirating.) 2. If possible, we could make it for him. (Still not pirating.) 3. Clear? It's not pirating! I think I would know, considering that if it is piratable, I have either pirated it or know how to easily. Sorry to bother everyone with this. Thankful I can't be negative repped this time, B3 | 2010-05-27 14:02:00 Author: Voltergeist Posts: 1702 |

I think I have found the culprit to the levels loading forever! Okay, I tested every object collected and found in the Turbo! pack levels. I tested the vehicles and the vehicle parts. I also tested everything else from the 3D objects to the normal ones. NONE of them made the level load forever, in edit and play mode. I crammed everything in one level, with the Turbo! background, although I left out the bridge builder. Then, I put all CREATE materials from the pack in. BAM! the level loaded forever. | 2010-05-28 00:33:00 Author: TheNerd Posts: 840 |
I also tested both the create materials and the bridge builder in a seperate level. Turns out Corey was wrong, the bridge builder had no effect on a level's loadtime. When I tested out the Create materials in a seperate level, I put a single block of the Dirty Metal material and the level did not load when I went into play mode, and also edit mode. So it's actually the materials. EDIT: Sorry for double post | 2010-05-28 00:42:00 Author: TheNerd Posts: 840 |
Good, so I'm not the only one whose having problems with the materials. I wasn't sure why my level wouldn't load, and I also found out later the materials prevented me from loading the level. Therefore I lost some effort in my level, but I rebuilt everything with different materials. | 2010-05-28 01:10:00 Author: Spark151 Posts: 801 |
I did put a small block of dirty metal in the level. So we figured that out.(it looks like the durty metal is putting filth on our levels) Now what? Contact ace creator? | 2010-05-28 03:56:00 Author: ConverseFox Posts: 2333 |
Not sure.... I don't think it's worth contacting anyone. As Spark did, just use different materials. Although, I loved how the dirty metal looks. | 2010-05-28 08:00:00 Author: TheNerd Posts: 840 |

Yeah, I haven't had any problems with dirty metal, which is good because it's the new go-to materials for cel-shading. People ought to tell someone, but don't pester when doing so. After all, we got our gardens music eventually, right? | 2010-05-28 13:13:00 Author: Voltergeist Posts: 1702 |

Tested it out once more. Seems like its not a bug from the materials, its a bug from the pack itself. I can't pinpoint what is the exact cause and when it happens. But for all I know, the Turbo! Pack came with a bug. A loadtime bug. | 2010-05-29 08:27:00 Author: TheNerd Posts: 840 |
