The Realm of The Wolf Lordcroissantbuncake
Ok so this level has been up for a while now, and despite some minor issues (which alas cannot yet be fixed due to thermo overload - I doubt Aya's glitch can help since so much as editing a corner will make it overheat) One of my goals with this level was to see how much I could get out of the layers visually without having to resort to the extra layers. I have recieved pretty good feedback on it in game. I'll add the level description later once I get access to the PS3.

I played this level when it was in the beta and it's just competely amazing.
Maybe the better snow hemed level together with Kiminsky latest one.
There are big moving setpieces, wonderful contraptions, an eerie and wild atmosphere.
I really loved this one!
I rated it 5 stars for sure, since I have wonderful memories of the level.

One of the visually best levels out there. It's simply fantastic. The gameplay is a little glitchy, but as there's no chance of fixing it... Well. I love your stone wolves, Ice gargoyles... Everything. When I first saw this on someones hearted page I had the "It's his friend's level" feel, but it went away as soon as I first entered it!2010-04-09 17:42:00

I absolutely loved this level. Your entrance contraptions were mind blowing and a huge inspiration to me. Great lighting and atmosphere, you've out done Media Molecule easily in your skill with creation.2010-04-09 17:48:00

Thanks for the comments guys. I've decided to bite the bullet and risk overheating the thermo by trying to iron out some of the problems in the level. So any previous comments withheld due to thermo restrictions, please feel free to voice them!2010-04-11 12:49:00

Biting the bullet? That sounds a little risky... I mean, it has the possibility to explode in your face!

But those pics look fantastic, this level is for sure on my LBP to do list. What's first on my to do lost you might ask? To make a to do list of course.

Hiya. You've got a level hole here. When the big door opens, if you walk left instead of right, you drop out of the level.2010-04-12 08:42:00

@Morgana: Thanks!

@jump_button: Thanks! Hope you enjoy it!

@srgt_poptart: *BANG* .... Thanks!

@TheAdipose: Thanks! I knew there were still things like that lying around! I'll make sure to get t othat straight away when I get home on thursday!

Slight update: added the world's smallest alternate route to the beginning, just for the sake of something less disappointing than being gassed upon dropping down at the level entrance.

Beautifull level, the big statues that open up paths are were an epic sight to my eyes. Don't recall I've seen something like that before.
On one of the last statues (the one that make a bridge together I noticed an arm breaking off after the bridge was raised, not sure if that was supposed to happen, but it seemed strange to me.
If that was intended, ignore what I said
Had great fun playing this, keep up the splendid work.

Thanks Serph! Yep, that was intentional, it just looks a little odd due to the way it falls. It works better on the matching statue which loses parts of it's shield as you cross it.2010-04-12 22:00:00

AMAZING. Level ,very epic loved the enemies and the platforming. I smell a spotlight!

1 thing:

On the wolf enemies that spit icicles at you, please remove the invisible wall inbetween the wolfs front legs. It's really annoying. I know you probably made it to stop you hiding underneath it, but it really doesn't work too well.

Oh my goodness! I love this level!

First off, your atmosphere was simply incredible. I've never played an ice/snow level that actually felt COLD and yours hit the nail right on the head! It was a really refreshing feeling. Gameplay was fun and adventurous. I enjoyed looking for those sunken treasure chests.

Your creature design blew me away. So detailed...and eerie. Seems like something you'd see in a LOZ game! Good stuff!

5 stars and hearted! :o

This level is stunning! I loved every minute of it, the creatures were majestic as was the ruins. The bridge was astounding and the detail just yeah.. 5 stars + heart! The only thing I thought I'd like to see that wasn't there was sound coming from the creatures. Like a ghostly whimper when they die or something, but I know that LBP doesn't have the widest range of sounds so I'm not sure that is even possible. Great work will be checking out what else you have to offer.2010-04-16 20:45:00

lol that could well have been in there. That sound is quite a quiet one and doesn't really sound like anything(to me anyway), certainly not a creature dying.2010-04-17 01:11:00

It goes without saying this level is beautiful... (you probably enjoy hearing it so I'll echo it again...) The level is stunning! The large scale pieces are beautiful and the sense of decay you created was really very convincingly done... I did have several start/stop tries with your level something I don't usually associate with spotlighted levels... The castle itself was fairly sound but the underwater areas in the beginning and middle... seemed like I triggered events as you scripted, but if I didn't perform exactly what you had in mind next-- I was left with no immediately foreseeable way to proceed. 3x all told. Once near the viking ship early on... near the middle with a change of waterlevel... and again near the end when I defeated one of your ice guardians something triggered and couldn't see how to proceed...

I'm not saying this nonchalantly, I spent a lot of time in your beautiful atmosphere. Gameplay seemed a wee-bit glitchy but really felt like a small price to pay for a visual feast of gluttony. My eyes are now overly full.

Played this yesterday, really beautiful atmosphere.
Statues were really cool. Viking ships were nice too.
Only thing I didn't like was the invisible wall(s?) at the end of the statue(s).
Mad props for not using the 3D glitch. I think most visual levels rely on it too heavily now.

This level was awesome!
I played it a first time and then I thought I'd show it to someone form the spotlight team to see if it's eligible and bla bla bla. She (Morgana25) was stunned by the quality of it. The huge pieces made it feel like a grand adventure and the mood was neat! It really felt unique and I fell in love with your collosi. When they moved, my reaction was pretty much this :O... so pwetty!
so ermm yea I really enjoyed it as an overall and it's definitely worth the spotlight (you can thank me for it now.. )

Beautiful. It reminded me of shadow of the colossus.

There were some frustrating parts, but all in all a great level.

I gave it :star::star::star::star:

Oh yeah, the ice enemies were awesome.

I played this a while back, it was a very unique level. The level had top-notch visuals, along with plenty of simple platforming to go along with it. The enemies were very detailed, and had a very unique look to them. This is the first level I have played that has water in a cold theme, once I noticed it, I decided that this truly is a special level. The little ice platforms were a very nice touch too. I really liked how at the end, I had about one second of air left under water, and I barely made it to the surface in time. So, all in all, this level was very beautifal and unique. Keep up the amazing work.

Excellent level! The wolf statues, ice enemies, and icy platforming are brilliant and the architectural design is eye-popping. It is the best ice themed level I have ever played. Congrats on being spotlighted.2010-04-20 22:28:00
