3D Background capabilities and a Bioshock pack.

One thing I'd love for MM to sort out is this 3D "Glitch." I think it's about time they took a detailed look into how they can optimise a feature that will allow us to craft our own backgrounds for levels. I've seen some simply superb work for backgrounds and I think it'd really expand the creativity if MM release a feature which allows us to make detailed background and foreground environments. Oh and I definitely feel it's about time a Bioshock pack was released. A Big Daddy, Big Sister, Little Sister costume set would be awesome and they could even throw in a splicer or dare I say it, Andrew Ryan himself. The Big Daddy could have a drill hand and when you slap it makes a revving noise. Even better, they could look into introducing a new power feature where you can equip a drill on your character and using R1 drill through a special material. It'll be a new line of "drillable" materials seeing as it may break levels using old materials. Along with that they could introduce some brilliant crooner style music. The levels with the level kit would be unbelievable knowing MM's abilities. The objects I'd love to see would be stuff like those Spheres they use as subs, the train in Bioshock 2. New materials like retro wood effects, various Vita Chambers and Vents and other such things. Needless to say busts of Ryan and the neon signs would be awesome. So many options available to create from. | 2010-04-09 02:39:00 Author: Dunadrian Posts: 57 |
If they would just give us the 7 thick layers that were supposed to be in the game, I'd be happy. | 2010-04-09 04:11:00 Author: Arkei Posts: 1432 |
Yeah, I would love to be certain that the 3D Glitch will be here to stay. The Bioshock costumes and/or implementations I can live without though. The drill seems a little bit interesting, however. It can add a fun new gameplay element. | 2010-04-09 05:51:00 Author: Night Angel Posts: 1214 |
Seven thick layers would be superb for creating levels but I'd still love it if they could let us create the sprawling style of backgrounds that they have. I think the drill would be really fun in the case of all those boring bomb survivals, it could work like the blowtorch in Worms xD | 2010-04-09 09:46:00 Author: Dunadrian Posts: 57 |
Ok, first off, you should have done 2 different threads because they are pretty random! I really do think it would be an incredible feat for MM to make a background editor, though I am quite happy with the 3D layer glitch as it is. | 2010-04-09 09:49:00 Author: talbot-trembler Posts: 1114 |
Don't get me wrong, the 3D Glitch at the moment is still great for creating, I just feel that it is a bit too ,glitchy, basically what with the back thin layer breaking when infront of background objects then the difficult emitting sequences you have to do to get vehicles and whatnot put into the background. I feel they should at least try to fix some of the bugs for the 3D glitch to allow us greater freedom when using it if not a proper background editting option. I wasn't sure about whether posting two threads at once would be unsuitable etiquette here. | 2010-04-09 10:01:00 Author: Dunadrian Posts: 57 |
I love working in 3D im obssesed with it, i dont know whats gonna happen to me if they fix it , but i love making stuff in 3D, and yes the Idea of a Bioshock sounds great, Who wouldnt love dressing as Big Dad or Sis...? | 2010-04-10 14:21:00 Author: Bloo_boy Posts: 1019 |
I am happy enough as it is with having 3 thick and 4 thin layers, but I would love to have background and foreground layers editable to my liking, without any glitches, I have worked a little with the 3D material, and I am really irritated about the fact that it does not get well together with the most behind thin layer when I am working a little with background details. Thumbs up!!! As for the Bioshock pack, that would be AWESOME to have. The soundtrack for Bioshock is just amazing, that's my opinion though, and I like the idea of costumes. And the Drill Hand... It would be so awesome to have that one, I have already formed a title in my head, "Getting Dirty"... | 2010-04-10 17:17:00 Author: moonwire Posts: 1627 |

Getting Dirty xD On an irrelevant note, I'd like to see a parachute idea brought in, you carry it on your back and hit R1 to open it. Not much use except looking awesome. They could use the Bioshock Level Kit as an excuse to look into the idea of placeable water, not the particle type but basically squares with the same coding style as MM's water at the moment. It could be made that it HAS to be surrounded on the bottom three sides but squares can be cut out of the centre of it as long as material is used to fill the squares. It's difficult to describe but I think it could be possible if they knew what I was thinking. It'd really work well with Rapture and submarines and stuff like that. | 2010-04-10 19:41:00 Author: Dunadrian Posts: 57 |
