http://i43.tinypic.com/2eve1hd.jpgEver wanted to visit the Gardens on your PSP? In this level you can. Go through the Happy Gardens to the Haunted Mansion, but can you make the way out?
Now, I’ve finished this more serious level, than my previous two. It’s done with the Creator’s Edition, and I’ve made most of the objects from the first world on the PS3 version. It’s The Gardens.

I really want you to play the level, and I would be glad, if you could leave feedback here on my thread. I’m doing F4F aswell, so I’m willing to try your levels, if you want me to.

Pictures: (sorry for bad quality, we really need photo tool in the game)

Thanks to: Media Molecule, and the Spring, which suddenly was over us after the cold winter. (it inspired me to make this)

hey :] i actually tried ur level before i read ur post on my swamplands level XD! anyways..
i really liked ur level. the scenery was nice, the gameplay fun and ur characters were really well put together
a few tips tho:
-work harder on ur corner editing. take more time to make corner editing better quality. i noticed that in some places the objects still had a square look
-make the ghosts chains invisible. it makes them more realistic.
-make use of every layer

Hey thanks for posting feedback. I don't know if you played the PS3 version of LBP, but this is a tribute level for it. All items and characters are from the Gardens in PS3. I've just made my own gameplay. The ghost chains are visible in the real game.

But I can still use your feedback. I'm working on Improving my skills still, and I should try to make use of every layer. I can make sure allready, that my next level uses every layer. And I've improved my corner editing, but unfortunately I still need to work on it. Much thanks.

I'll take a look at your Environment Tutorial.

Hi ghik 16

I think that you captured several interesting stuff from the PS3 version ,but I think that you should work a little more in the enviroments, as Ali said before, in some parts the objects are very square, in the part of the ghosts I had the feeling of emptiness, due to the area is very large and no great decoration in it, I gave you 4 stars because the gameplay was fun

thanks for the feedback, here is f4f. it was fun, seemed like a story level almost, but when i pulled the switch at the beginning of the haunted mansion i pulled the switch before i i grabbed the block and couldn't figure it out for a while, but no big deal i am probably just dumb. seemed a little short. the visuals were great seamed just like the real level, great job. :star::star::star::star:2010-04-08 21:13:00

Hey, okay. I'm sorry the corner editing went bad on the trees. Should've done better. Hmm.. I thought I had decorated the Haunted Mansion. Didn't know what else to do than stickering the Platforms.. Thanks for 4 stars.

Hi Wap3. I'm really glad it fealed as a story level. I kind of tried to make it Story mode alike. It might have been a bit on the short side. Just try again, and see if you can complete it. You know that part is tricky. And I'm really glad of it. You just need to take the Block before you pull the switch. Thanks.

Great level, I've played a few garden levels on psp but this is my new favorite.

You captured the feel of the ps3 perfectly here. Not to many creators can do that effectively, Spark is one and now I add your name to that list.

Everything was very well polished so I can tell you really took your time on this. The sign made of wood "The Gardens psp" was beautiful, I actually said wow when that happened because of how good the sign looked and the camera angle you used was awesome looking.

Nothing really bad here that I could find so I'll give you five stars, a heart, and a heart for creator too, because I like your race level.

Hey, if you get a chance play one of my levels.

Hello ghik16!.
I've played your level and I must say that is pretty nice.
It has a simple but effective gameplay and the main idea was cool.
Now, you have some problems with scenarios and visuals, because are really simple.
Try to use more stickers, believe me, you can create awesome things with that stickering stickers.
And of course, you need to polish your corner editing in some parts of the level. Specially after you enter to the castle
It's a really nice level, and if you follow the comunity advices, it can be much much better.

Hi, ghik16.

I played in original gardens levels on PS3, so i must say that you did good work for adaptation it on psp. My only comment is that level can be a little more longer and severeal characters can be added from original version. But anyway I gave you 4 stars and heart for this level! And I will look for you next levels, good luck!

Yes, I know. It is a bit too short. In the start on the PS3 I made long levels, but now my levels getting shorter and shorter, especially the ones on my PSP. I'm so afraid of the game going to break.

Hi, ghik16! You can do backup of your game profile to computer. I do it every morning when I create some new level. It takes about 1 minute and two times already saved my new creations from death. So I recommend you do the same and create long and big levels! Good Luck!2010-04-13 15:07:00

Yes, I know you can. I've done it once to save my profile. The create mode in the PSP just makes me angry sometimes. It breaks a lot of times. Sometimes you can detatch things, instead you only can delete everything. It's just annoying. And sometimes it's very laggy, and the Corner editing is laggy.

Hidy Ho ghik! I finally got access to a wireless network so I got to give your level a play. I must admit that it was nostalgic for me to play the level since I have been without my PS3 for over 6 months now, so I really enjoyed it. It certainly had the Gardens feel to it, and you managed to toss in some things of your own as well. I really liked seeing things like the boot rebuilt :-)

I think that my only piece of advice would be to use more stickers or materials as decorations. I know that you were going for the Gardens look, but I don't remember the gardens feeling that bland in the haunted mansion and such. It wasn't a major issue, it just felt empty at parts.

Great work overall! I had a lot of fun with it!

Okay I'm glad you thougt it was like the Gardens. Hmm, maybe the Haunted mansion wasn't as much the Gardens feeling. Thanks for playing too.

Played this earlier, it was nice. It brought back memories from the origanal. One of the things I liked about this level was how you didn't just copy a whole level from the gardens, you used the same visual theme and added some different gameplay.

THanks.. The thing your saying was also my whole idea with the level. So I'm glad you thought that.

People keep giving in good ratings.. but still it has got 3 stars on the Community moon. I don't understand.

People keep giving in good ratings.. but still it has got 3 stars on the Community moon. I don't understand. Don't pay too much attention to your star ratings. It's exactly like the PS3 system, meaning that it is mostly broken. TheAdipose won a crown for a PS3 level he created that now has 3 stars... That doesn't make sense at all because it's a great level. People will rate things down for all sorts of silly reasons, like a level is too hard, or too long, or not long enough, or they played the Gardens once and don't want to do it again, etc. I have seen a lot of levels get 3 stars early on that later end up on the highest rated page.

The real trick to the whole thing is this community here. On the PS3 side it's basically impossible to find good levels to play in-game, and LBP PSP is starting to get there as well. Keep advertising your level around here and participating in F4F, and you'll get loads of plays and much more accurate ratings as well.

Okay I understand. I also think that it's a bit harder to get good ratings on the PSP than on the PS3. I don't think I've ever seen a level with 5 stars on the LBP PSP community. It seems harder to get these scores.

It seems harder to get these scores. You're right about that - it's basically impossible to get a 5 star rating. The game always rounds down the number of stars based on your average rating, so if 10,000 people rate you 5 stars and 1 person rates you 4 stars, your level will never show higher than 4 stars. Kind of silly.

So, if your level is showing 3 stars right now for all we know its "actual" rating is 3.99999999 stars.

Hmm, I didn't know that. But that's against the rules of math?? How stupid. Everything from 4,5 and up must be rounded up to five.

Hi ghik16

I enjoyed your level. You did a good job at capturing the feel of The Gardens PS3. I could see you really liked that level by all the detail you added. But when it changed to the haunted house things got pretty sparse. I think it may have been better to just stick to the one theme. I liked how you had hidden bubbles throughout the level. You did a great job with that.
