F4F: Count Sackula's Mystery RaceSquirrelWrangler
It's a race level in medieval / spooky/scary style.
Hi all, I'm new to this forum.

I've created a level, it's called "Count Sackula's Mystery Race." And I'm wondering if it is any good, before I make more levels

Thanks in advance for your feedback (and for playing of course)!

Hi!

Just got done playing your race... I gotta say I don't think it is being fairly rated. Got 5 stars and fun tag from me. I usually give pretty detailed feedback--but I honestly don't see the need in your case. It's fun! It's a race! It's a Mystery Race! Now if you'd like to make it even better...

the first bubbles encountered between the two lamp posts... actually make them accessible! a small thing I know (and I'm sure some people can get them but I never got all 4 in the same play) and while I'm at it why 4? one more is a multiplier... speaking of lamp posts, you should think about changing the spotlight to gas right before the drawbridge... I liked the mechanic and all but the lampost blocks shots on the first plane... I had to move back where I could no longer see skull target... if you turn that spot to gas I think player will be able to shoot through it... I think?

Staircase mechanic is ...AWESOME! I think you should factor more of this type mechanic into the race... of course it depends on the audience your trying to attract, the audience so far though hasn't been to responsive with their 3 stars! If there's ever a next one... I'd up the difficulty just a tad... make it a little longer... not much and near the end where the torso hangs idk. Perhaps individual branching paths so players could choose to go over/under/thru... just spitballin here... i really thought it was fine as in.

One other note... I think the race could have been designed differently so the balance between just finishing with no combos... doesn't outweigh the player who finishes a little slower but with huge combo. You need to encourage the combo. Big Fun.

If you get bored, its not mandatory, but I'd ask you to try, "The MUPPET Level" thanks again https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=24744-The-MUPPET-Level

Gravel, thank you for your detailed feedback. It is really helpful! I'm glad you liked the level.

I changed the first few score bubbles at the gate. They are accesable now, and 5. Regarding the lamp before the bridge, you can move towards the bridge, that way you see the skulls clearly, and the lamp is not blocking your line of fire. Haha, yes, the staircase mechanic. It was some tedious work making it though. Surely took me a whole evening to make that part just right. But it turned out nice, if I may say so myself I'll try to incorporate more score bubble combos in the race!

The hanging torso might indeed be just a little bit too much, I thought so... maybe if I decorate it with some flowers...

I tried making a more difficult level before this one, and people just complained that it was too difficult. Give it a try if you want to, its called "Run of the Mill," and it also has a whole 2 player section towards the end...

Anyways, thanks again for replying!

I agree. great visualls, nice gameplay. good fun. lets see you take on a full level. If you can make a full level as detailed and as fun as that you've got a shot at spotlight. Adi2010-04-12 22:33:00

@TheAdipose: thanks for playing my level. It's good to hear that you like it!

I'm trying to make a bigger/full level with all the details and stuff, but to be honest, it's difficult. With this one, Sackula's Race, I already have the meter at 95%...
