The Heavy Metal Mullet Planet Tribute Part 3Leather-Monkeys
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4059/4505511557_098a6b5616_o.pngIt's been a while since you've explored Heavy Metal Mullet Planet, it's about time you paid another visit!
It's been over a year since I published part 2, so I felt it was time to make a part 3! I'm so glad I did, I've never had so much fun in create mode. I created this level with so much ease, coming across literally no problems! So it only took about one month of occasionally entering create mode and tinkering for a few hours at a time to make this. I'm not sure whether it matches exactly the same style as the first two, I can tell my skills as a creator have [slightly] improved since making part 1 and 2. But once again I've tried to include simple mechanics, mad, fast game-play and plenty to look at! I hope you have as much fun playing this as I did creating it! Oh and I found this level is so much more fun to play whilst listening to VERY loud music! So please go ahead and do that, wear headphones if you must, as long as it's loud and full of guitars!

Thanks to OmegaSlayer (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/member.php?1752-OmegaSlayer) for encouraging me to make this level, oh and for beta testing!

I loved this series the first time I played it, and a new level is a great news! I'll surely try it when my PS3 will be back! Waiting for screens 2010-04-06 16:52:00

Looking forward to playing these. I went about 5 months on this site before realising you were the one who made some of my old favourites.2010-04-06 17:07:00

Loved it. Very rock n' roll.

Improve:

Too much random stuff. Don't mean the skulls. I mean the bombs etc. Also, maybe tone down the skulls a liiiitle bit, there were parts where it was like they were just dumped there(it'd free up thermo to tidy some stuff up). Also, there were some things that were there that didn't look nice that probably added to the thermo(bubbles held onto platforms by springs). Also, tidy up some of the spiky corners up(like on the final boss). Also, didn't like the metal platforms that looked like hands(you can make low thermo alternative that'd look just as good).

Also, you know how there's skulls hanging on the final bosses legs by string? They get in the way of the brain. I'd take a photo of the skull, put on thin layer cardboard, then cut around it. Much less hassle.

Um, my feedback might of been a bit longwinded and confusing 0_0;

What I mean is, love the level. Tone down on the skulls and bombs, tidy up some corners, change some of the platforms, delete some of the unnecessary decorations and you're set(sorry if I've managed to screw up that bit of feedback).

wow, that was awesome! You had a really unique way of decorating your level, I cant think of anything quite like it. The visuals were great, and the level was really fun to play, I just thought it was a bit too short. I guess i''ll have to go check out the other 2 parts to fix that lol, cuz i haven't played them yet. thanks!2010-04-06 20:36:00

Thank you! That "really unique way of decorating" the level is unique because it gobbles up the thermo and so nobody dares do it! Which is why my levels always turn out to be fairly short. :/2010-04-06 20:59:00

Brilliant! Absolutely Brilliant!! I haven't played your first 2 Heavy Metal Tribute levels so I didn't know what to expect. Lighting, music and scenery were all very well done. Great game play. Well done.2010-04-07 01:22:00

First of all, I want to thank Leather!
He's a really kind guy and it's always nice to interact with him.

I think he's one of the most underrated creators around here.
I love basically everything he accomplishes, since he's fresh and unique.
His visual are a madness that reminds me some sick stuff from the 16 bit era.
Everything seems to be stack up at random, but I challenge anyone to match his style with awesome results.
It's impressive how he was able to create this series based only on 15 seconds of a promo video.

He has also the gift to make things fun and simple, basic quick gameplay, unexpected things that happens in a link of an eye, wonderul sense of humor.

I also invite everyone to play his Island of the fire lizards level and the level he made with Zwollie for the beta contest, a level that has dialogues that are just priceless.

I played the level with "Gamma Ray"'s Empathy on the background and had a total f' blast.
I hope everyone will enjoy the level like I did and I wait or the next one in the series!

Youve really done something wonderfull here, I love the opening bit especially, its like, entirly made out of skulls, and looks amazing. I love all the clutered randomness, something few can really pull off, however you manage it spectatularly. Big thumbs up there Leather_Monkey. Well done, loved it. 2010-04-07 23:25:00

Thank you everyone! I was a bit worried about this one at first, not sure if it was as rocky as the first two. But it seems to be have been received well so far. 2010-04-08 14:01:00

I played this earlier today, it was awesome. I loved this one as much as I loved the previous too. Plenty of fun gameplay and great visuals, and a very unique and awesome level name.

This level was Rockin' Hard! I loved it but why so short? D:
I wanted some MOAR! Skulls were cool, you sure seems to love 'em
It brings back all the memories we have of the earlier versions.
Good level overall just too short.
Oh and the hands platforms were a nice touch!
:star::star::star::star: and a heart. 4 stars for the level alone, 5 stars for the whole series!

I wanted to make it longer, I was planning on putting a huge guy playing guitar in at the end and you'd have to climb all over him to get to the scoreboard. But, I eat up the thermo like a motherlicker. :/2010-04-09 18:35:00

Cool vid, but a bit too spoilerish.
I would suggest a furious 25-30 secs vid with some metal music in the background, something well known and recognizable, like Enter Sandman perhaps or Breaking The Law.
It's a while since I acceded to LBP, how many plays and heart did you gather L-M?

Please make part 4, but just be more careful with the thermo. It's so good, but so short D:

LOL!! Most welcome! I almost forgot I did that to be honest till I saw Omega's post come up on the What's New. Great job on the editing! Cool and funny trailer.

I really liked this level. Quite a bit of fun though a bit on the short side, but I think it is my favorite of the 3. Great job!

5 stars and a Rock ON!! errr heart.

I went back and played all your heavy metal levels the other day, this one had the same feel as the other two.
Didn't have any problems gameplay wise so kudos.
Again, great visuals, I don't think any creators would challenge you with a similar level, haha.
I wish we could play XMB music while in play mode! It would be perfect for these kinds of levels.
