Friend requests...

Archive: 25 posts

Yesterday I got 7 friend requests on PSN I had never heard of them so I deleted them...
Later one of them sent a friend request to me again, and I asked: Do I know you? and he answerd PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ADD ME
then He started to spam my inbox and said he was friend with some of my friends but he wasn't friend with them and it turned out that he was 8 and. I said I don't add people under 10 then he said: I HATE YOU FOREVER,
And things like this happen alot to me so I just get more haters
Then someone sent a request and wanted help with trophys, after a long conversation with him I blocked him...

So does anyone here know how to say that I dont want them on my friendlist with out getting more haters..

(oh and if this is in the wrong section can a mod please move it)

If someone gives you a formal request, something like:
"Hey i'm "something something" from "that site" or if they just give a nameless invitation, but then if you ask them "Do i know you?" or something and thyanswer like "Oh i'm from "that" site" or "Oh we played the other day"
Then add them, those are usually ok.

If you suddenfly get some random message or in all caps like:
"ADD ME!" / "OMG ADD!" / "lolololol"

DO NOT add them for if you do you'll regret ever meeting with these people.

Believe me, invitation say what kind of player they are a lot of times.
But yet sometimes the're are formal idiots and unformal geniouses, so its not 100%

Another thing i do is add them, play with them (taking a chance for a reason or another), if i don't like them i delete them even if in the middle of gameplay, if they give me any tongue i explain why and end my message with "Blocked," even if i don't they don't reply as they think i did, and that's the last i hear of them.

Hope this tips help ya!

You missed a big part out of that... after the long conversation you told him to come to me.

If you don't want to add someone just say Sorry, I don't add people unless I know them enough. If they reply with anything like Please please please block them quickly before they start to spam.

Oh yes, almost forgot, that's a big mistake too, if you find yourself with someone you dislike, don't "Hae aa long conversation"
a) They'll take anything you do more personal.
b) They'll know you a bit and think on revenger the longer as you've gotten "personal" with them
c) just leaving will mean you're just another stranger in the road that rejected him, no strings attatched.

So yeah, wouldn't recccomend long talks with them.

At most one reply (and even that's too much) ) but that's as far as i would get.

There is too much of this sort of thing happening on LBP and PSN. It makes me feel good that I am a humble unknown player who only has one PSN friend (who I actually know in real life). It would be good if PSN had an auto-block/reject message feature that you could turn on, but I suppose then you would miss messages from nice people who could be potential future friends.2010-04-06 15:33:00

I get about 10 friend request every day, most of which I just decline immediately. A couple of weeks ago I thought I would add some just to see what would happen and all I've got is "COME AND PLAY LBP" followed by "PLZ" and "WHY WONT U JOIN??????", all within about 15 seconds of one another.

How I wish my friends list was full again so that nobody would be able to add me...

I get a lot of these from Youtube even though it CLEARLY SAYS I'm not adding any other players. One NintendoFan300 or something like that sent me about 7 requests before I finally had to block him. His incentive to wanna add me in the first place was stupid..

"HEY! ADD ME! YOU HAVE A CROWN!!!! DDD"

Oh yeah, I don't matter...only my crown does. Probably trying to get me to gameshare.

Its true that what they say in the invitation can tell you what your gonna get from them. Ive actually gotten a couple nice good creators from random requests. But i had this one kid beg me to let him help me with a level. His reasoning being "U mak gud lvl n i get crown 4 help". He later spammed me to tell steve big guns to add him, because he saw i had a picture with him....lol.2010-04-06 18:35:00

^^; ever weekend i say "sorry not adding anyone" to them all, I want to keep space for friends and ppl i know well. I use to say yes to everyone but some players where a bit crazy and well you know :/

wish Mm would let you hide your PSN ID and have a LBP ID or somthing maybe a friends list only on LBP would be good

My friends list is full but i get a lot of psn messages from people asking me to add them. If their messages are just plain like "add me" i ignore them.
If they are being nice and actually make an effort i reply honestly and say i have no space and will keep their name in mind for when i can make space. For example you Alec. I havent made space since

Thankfully, I don't get this problem often because I'm not that well-known on LBP.

I feel sorry for the people that do have this problem though. And if it does happen, I'd go with what Silverleon said in the second post. Right up there ^^^^^^^^
Look.. Now.. Oh you have? That's good. ^_^

It's fine you don't need to make space to add me anymore

Blocking the player is about all you can do. Some people are really pushy when it comes to friend requests .2010-04-07 04:30:00

I have no idea what this is like but still, you guys should reconsider two important things...

1--There obviously young, problably 12 or less, dont hurt their feelings, atleast just tell them a good reason why you didnt accept their request, or atleast say Hi but sorry lol.

2--Most Obviously their Fans of you, their fans of what you do and like what you do, so dont turn em down, let them know (understand) and they will problably leave you alone..

However yeah, if they keep insisting, then the only way is to block them i guess, but still no matter how "Famous" you will ever be or are...Dont be heart-less, just saying dont take it personal, but thats just my Opinion, im sure you guys have perfectly good reasons so yeah .

I get a few reqests here and there, i usually add them.
After hanging with them i see wat kind of player they are.... like one kid....

I added him, but unknown to my knowledge, he would capture my objects while i was Afk.
I later word bombed him... he got stuck and for about 2 hours, spammed me,
"HELP"
"IM GLITCHED HELP ME"

"OMG HELP ME!!!PLZ STOP THIS"

Ahh... how i love revenge.

This would be an awesome feature.
My "poms" account is a mess. No friend requests because it's full, but continuously bombarded by messages.
Today a got a funny one. A guy was very angry because I didn't reply his message!... lol.

LBP friends requests are crazy. I get 2-5 a day and I'm not famous at all (200 hearts), so I can't imagine what people like SteveBigGuns have to deal with.

I usually ignore them and delete them a few days later so they don't notice, and don't spam me. lol.

My exact situation, i only got 250 hearts and i still get lots of requests. Then i just delete them.

I'm sorry, but that's a BAD idea m8, yes they might be fans or little kids, but are you sure pleasing 1 fan is worth jeopardising your account?
Nope, you don't even know the dude, remember, there are a lot of "fans"
(out of space)

...a lot of "fans" out there, that are just pretending to go for the steal, and won't stop bothering you if you give then a small opening, like i said, watch their messages and judge them carefully.

Another thing is.

If they keep sending add requests repeately, without a good reason, DO NOT add them, that's something to avoid, they're usually just trying to gain from you, if you say "no" and then they keep asking anyways, they must be wanting something, if you say "no" and they say something like "i understand" or something rationsl, you can give them a chance, but watch them carefully, let them join you shortly in a game and if they push to see your levels in create mode, delete them, block them!
That just means they were after your stuff only.

And rememeber, do not put new guys in your levels in create mode!
Unless you're sure they do not want anything or wouldn't want/ have a reason to steal, then don't, if they push for it, delete them!

Remember, do not take any uncessesary risks for LBP friend adds!
