Playstation freezes when I try to edit/play my level?

Archive: 11 posts

Okay I've been working on this level for along time now (about a week) and today I tried to edit it and it froze my PS3. So then I turned it off and turned it back on, and I tried to play it again. But it froze it again. What's wrong with my level?? Can I fix it? Btw, it uses the layer glitch so idk if that's whats freezing it but I did so much work D: Help anyone?2010-04-06 00:55:00

It could be a sticker or object has corrupted in the level or any number of other reasons. Do you have a backup save from earlier in the process of making it? Does it lock up on any other levels on your moon or just that specific one?2010-04-06 01:09:00

The only backup I have is in the earlier stages of it's creation. D: I just tested my other levels and they work fine. I also tried to play and copy the "corrupted level" and it freezes all the time. D:

Depends how you used the glitch. Layer glitch on its own is generally okay, but in combination with water is very dangerous. Any dynamic glitch layer object will crash the PS3 if it comes into contact with water.

You'll probably find attempting to publish the level will crash the PS3 also. You could try exporting and reimporting the level, but if that doesn't help, then you're pretty much stuck if you don't have an earlier backup.

Bear in mind that a profile backup also backs up all your levels too. I generally do one every day that I play LBP, or sometimes more often if I'm doing a lot of creating that day.

How full is your thermo? My last two levels have had freezing/crashing problems as soon as I hit the last block.

Another suggestion is to sign out of PSN and see if that helps, being offline can sometimes help some stability issues......

Sometimes if you delete the installed LBP updates in your HDD and reinstall them it works, but I'd only use that as a last resort unless you want to wait for agggggeeeeeeessssss. It worked for me one time, which surprised me.2010-04-06 10:39:00

This sounds like the next big innovation in LBP... almost as innovative as "ramp" I give "the Terrible Horrible Scary Ninja Star of Explosive Horrific Death" 5 out of 5
