ps3

Archive: 14 posts

im getting a ps3 soon and idk what to do? Like what other stuff should I buy for it, and how does it work? I have a psp so I can kind of relate. Also what good games can I get that are not M. My parents are way too protective and even though Uncharted 2 is rated T they probably wouldn't let me play it because of the swearing and how real it is.

Thanks in advance!

Depends what games you like.

Disgaea 3, Ratchet and Clank, Katamari Forever, FF13, LBP. They're all great games without an M or T rating.

Well if you want non M or T rated games...i suggest you get a Wii. Mario, Zelda, etc etc all those are E and don't have any cursing and the violence and stuff is mild.

For PS3, other than LBP, you have The Rachet and Clank series, most racing and sports games are rated E. There are also a plethora of kid-friendly PSN games like Flow and Flower, Pixel junk games, Echochrome is a fun addicting puzzle game, and many others.

I suggest when you get your PS3, check out the games in the play station store.

I didn't say no T, I want T, just not the ones on the verge of M. And also I don't want to be playing any kiddie games. Thanks for the advice though. I still need info on the accessories.2010-04-05 23:44:00

Problem you got there is that there aren't many games for the rating that you want that aren't kiddie games! I mean, looking at my games, they're all either rated a 15 or an 18 - LBP being the only real exception.

Hmm, for accessories, you can get An Official Play Station headset, the Play Station Eye which is basically a camera and there are games on PSN that utilize it. There's a bunch of third party controllers and accessories you can look up too

Also, The Move is coming out in the fall (it's basically a Wii mote)

I'd say go check on the PSN store there are good games that aren't rated M and that are still excellent.
-Pixel Junk stuff (all of it is good)
-Katamari
-echocrome
-and all sorts of good creative games...

Batman: Arkham Asylum. It's rated T, but as far as I can tell there is virtually no swearing and very little blood (really, at most you just see some scrapes and cuts kids get everyday).
That's not to say the game isn't good; fact is, it's prettymuch the best comicbook videogame adaptation seen and a good action/adventure game in general. I highly recommend it unless you have a personal distaste of comicbooks or the character specifically.

Hmmmmmmm.... I would say LittleBigPlanet, first and foremost. Then you should get some racing games because they are the best on the PS3, like Dirt, Grid and Motorstorm. Also, I would talk to your parents about Uncharted 2's swearing. You can skip through all the cutscenes, but that kinda takes away the point of the game... whatever. The most violent things in Uncharted 2 though are the mini blood spurts that appear when you shoot a person in Uncharted 2 and the fact that you shoot people and blow each toher up with RPGs and grenades. There are also some suggestive (sexual) stuff between Chloe and Nathan Drake, but not too much. I personally love Uncharted 2, and I think you should at least talk to your parents about the game.
There are also great FPS T games like Battlefield 1943 that are on the PS store. BF 1943 costs $15.00 US, but believe me, it is worth the $15. (Ahem, sounds like the MW2 DLC pack!! *cough cough*
It's really about what genre you like the most, though. But you should try out Uncharted 2 and LBP first.

EDIT: Also, get Rock Band 2 special edition. The game is pretty fun to play.

If you've followed the three major gaming platforms, the you'll know that the Playstation console has traditionally been the most adult-oriented console, specifically when it came to exclusives (GTAIII, God of War, etc.) which means you'll have more trouble finding games with lower ratings. XBox seems to have nailed the teen market, while the Wii reigns for the genre of games you're looking for. For every "E for Everyone" title you'll find on the PS3, there's 20 others rated T or M. The converse is true for the Wii.

I would recommend purchasing Peggle, anything from the PixelJunk collection, WipEout HD/Fury and/or Flower from the PSN. All of these games should be fine for someone of your age, and are relatively cheap compared to a $60 recent release. I would also look here (http://us.playstation.com/games-and-media/gameslist/index.htm?type=Games&subCategoryType=console&subCategoryValue=PS3), and filter the games by their rating.
