Well... thats a sweet list, but i dont think we need THAT many new materials, because it would just fill our pop-its even more :s
But as i said, nice list.

Sounds just about right lol. That must have taken a while(you could of spent that time working on your level series ;D nah, I joke).

Here's a couple:

1.Quilted Fabric(like those coats, or the stuff on sofa) - sponge
2. Kitchen Roll - cardboard
3. Book(block of slightly yellowish cardboard with words on it like a book page) - would save TONS of time to make scrolls etc. for levels

I would like to see some aluminum, cause I can never get any metal to look like an actual metal, if you know what I mean.2010-04-06 02:45:00

Just get me an import function.
I got wellcounted 9,30 GB (9.988.329.029 bytes) of materials/textures/stickers from my Enviroment artist days.
I could get you 42.595 new materials in a matter of weeks.

Indeed, there are a couple of good ideas, but about 80 of the materials can already be done with a little creativity.

Come on m8, don't ask for everything to be done for you, that's wher the fun lies in LBP lies!

So don't just ask fro all textures, backgrounds and objects to be made for you, and do them yourself, remember never to say never unless you've at least tried!

no but we could at least get a decent material editor.
using stickers only gets you so far.

We definately need
Non Grabbable/Not explodable dissolve (Reinforced Dissolve?)
Grabbable material that doesnt explode (Gold? Because its a soft metal)
Paper (Lighter than cardboard)
Plastic (can explode, but is relatively strong)
Non slippery glass

well, if thats the case, why not have materials that can bend, or change shape when heated?
Materials that live and breath and can create new materials after breeding.
we could call it pokematerial, collect them all!

lol people are taking this the wrong way! In fact Im with you, thats why Im making my own story mode! But still I disagree, only about 10 of these could be done in LBP now, the rest (in my mind of how they would look) could not be, as they would require new meshes to create them, which can only be done by Mm.

Seriously, if you played my levels, you'd realise im a creator bent on making good content XD im always experimenting, just thought this would be a fun thing to do is all!

Just a way to import photo's/textures/jpg into lbp,
preferable with a material editor for bumbmapping/specmapping/displacementmapping/edgemapping/curvesmoothing etc.

Hmm...
I don't think i even have to comment here

And stickers can get you so far yeah, far enough if you ask me, if one reall knows how to blend materials, one doesn't even need stickers.
Believe me m8, the best levels i've seen don't have stickered walls or floors, they don't need to.

They all sound awesome and I'd want them in LittleBigPlanet, here are some more!

Cardboard: Origami (Light with Red and Green Paisley Pattern).

Polystyrene: Foam Insulation (Light Yellow Foam).

Glass: Mirror (Image and Light Reflective), Liquid Crystal (Colorful Organic Patterns that move), Security Glass (Clear Transparency with Integrated Metal Grid).

Metal: Lithium (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=24438-Another-New-Material-and-Global-Liquid-Lithium-and-Mercury) (Light Metal that's Highly Reactive to Water), Sodium (Slightly Heavy Alkaline that Dissolves in Water Overtime), Magnetic Iron (Heavy Magnetic Metal that is Attracted to Some Other Heavy Metals but Repels from Other Magnetic Iron Units), Lead (Very Heavy Metal that Reacts to Nothing).

Stone: Uranium (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=24394-New-Material-Uranium) (Very Heavy Stone that is Reactive to Water), Carbon (Heavy Stone that Stains Surfaces with Black Smudges and Burns when in Fire).

That's all! Hope you like em'.

Cardboard: note paper material I('m tired of grid paper)
PAPER AIRPLANES!!!
That is an awesome list of materials.
And here's another.
Basic Materials: Bouncy- grabbable and when you jump on it, you bounce off! Works like a trampoline, makes great bouncy houses, and the higher you fall, the bigger the bounce!

Haha, that actually made me laugh out loud. The pokematerial is just so funny. 2010-04-10 21:26:00

I would probaly add these:

Polystyrene/cardboard (do not know witch would be better spot to put it)-- ABS plastic- lightweight non-grabbable bumpmap-less texture, used for a flat surface for stickers.

metals--beveled steel- a grabbable, indestructable and heavy material.

glass- Neon bar / argon bar / etc. a material that generates it's own light

this is not a material, but more like a hazzard, but a plasma hazzard for materials
