The Empire's Striped Snack by tsr13 (PSP) [Video added!]

The Empire's Striped Snacktsr13
Battle the Empire once more and face the Dark Lord himself! (Episode V in the Star Bores saga.)
Continue your adventures in the Star Bores universe, this time on a chilly planet filled with icy caves and strangely familiar snow monsters. Dodge blaster fire, insult heavy equipment, and meet a motivationally challenged Dark Lord looking for a bite to eat. When you're done tip-toeing through outer space and exercising in a swamp, get ready for a final confrontation in the clouds.

I'm pleased to announce that the next installment in the Star Bores saga has finally been published. I spent countless hours coming up with visuals, game elements, and goofiness that would not only reflect the spirit of Star Wars but also be fun to play. I have pages and pages of scribbled notes, and I often spent days doing nothing but fine tuning some small aspect of the level. The AT-AT in particular was so tempermental it quite literally kept me up a couple of nights, but I finally got the demons exorcised from its unpredictable bones. The final few days of create mode were, as usual, a no-holds-barred brawl with the thermometer to make everything fit.

A very special thanks goes out to amazingflyingpoo, jeffcu28, and salieri who beta tested the heck out of this for me. This level would not have been possible without their patience, keen eyes, and truly invaluable insight.

As always, I had a blast working on this and hope you have fun with it too. Enjoy.

EDIT: Now with video, yay!

Just played it, incredible as usual from you

You created some great characters with those stickers, I was particularly impressed by how you recreated Vader's mask for Later. Always fun to grab n' ride those little starships! Great work on the environments as well.

I love all the little plays on words and amusing acronyms you used in this, ensured a smile every so often and helped mark the changes in the environment.

The ending didn't have the same visceral excitement to the ending that A New Hop had (Gotta be hard to beat blowing up a death star!), but the way you pulled it off surprised, confused, then amused me- I ended the level with a smile as well.

Great use of dialog, excellent environments and characters- just overall fun to play and fun to look at

Gonna play soon, buuut...

5-last screenshot, the Tie-Fighters, make them rotate and put the brains in a more central position on the wing. Doesn't look right atm

Here's my feedback Taffster,

Ok, I definitely knew that there was going to be humor in this level and as I started the level the burp effect and the sausage made me laugh. I always like how there is some shooting going on in the opening scene. The landing was great since there was an explosion. I loved the sound effects you used throughout the level. In the ice cave, I notice there were little cracking sounds as I moved on. Those little things made the level great. Also, I LOL'd at the "Electrified Stick."

The AT-AT was very cool. I wanted to see a part where you drive a Snowspeeder and trip the AT-AT over, I would have loved that. I liked your "Darth Later" very well stickered. As for the trip to Dagobah, although I forgot what you renamed it...or even if you did. The TIE fighters were a nice touch, but as PaddyJ said, you should have made them spin and moved the brains to a better looking position on the wings.

"Master Yoga's" fitness race was fun, but the only challenging bit was raising the platform long enough so that you can use it to get to the other side. After that, I had to go fetch "Darth Later" his ice cream snack and I ended the level. It seemed a bit short for your levels, but I was okay with it.

That's about it for my feedback,

Overall I gave you :star::star::star::star::star: and a heart.
Thanks for the great level!

Great level, great humour. Loved the graphic and the little "boss."

1 thing:

On the TIE fighters, I'd put a brain in the centre of both wings and make them rotate as well. The way it was implemented atm seemed lazy. It'd add some more challenge too

It will be a few days until I can play the finished version of this, but unless you decided to delete all of the stickers, dialog, and platforming since the last time I tested, then this level is an absolute blast.

That last picture you have is from a part that wasn't in the beta, so I am already excited to get home on Wednesday and try it out :-)

Whoa! That was quick!Heh, was it? Seems like Saturday was about 3 months ago. I was fortunate enough schedule-wise to pull off a marathon create mode session on Sunday. 8am to 11pm straight, more or less. Even when I was finished, publishing an error-free version took 45 minutes alone. I'm beat!

The ending didn't have the same visceral excitement to the ending that A New Hop had (Gotta be hard to beat blowing up a death star!), but the way you pulled it off surprised, confused, then amused me- I ended the level with a smile as well. Thanks for the review Truth! (Or should I abbreviate it Seeking? Or maybe just ST? No matter.) I'm thrilled everyone is having a good time with this level. As for the ending, I agree that it's not as bang-woohoo! as A New Hop. Then again, so is the actual ending of Empire Strikes Back, so I was ok with it. As long as I was able to get a quick grin out of the player when the level ends, I'm happy.

Thanks for playing!

Ok, I definitely knew that there was going to be humor in this level and as I started the level the burp effect and the sausage made me laugh. We can all thank jeffcu28 for suggesting that excellent change. It was very much a "why didn't I think of that???" moment when jc pointed that out. Beta testing rules! And really, when is a sausage NOT funny?

The AT-AT was very cool. I wanted to see a part where you drive a Snowspeeder and trip the AT-AT over, I would have loved that.Great minds think alike. A reliably operating AT-AT that trips and falls over is one of those things that simply refused to happen. When it worked, it was beautiful. When it didn't... Well, it wasn't pretty.

Regardless, thanks for the feedback!

On the TIE fighters, I'd put a brain in the centre of both wings and make them rotate as well. The way it was implemented atm seemed lazy. It'd add some more challenge tooAh, well that was the Dark Lord's section. I couldn't get him to finish anything. Sheesh.

Thanks for playing and for the suggestion! I'll see what I can do.

Aw Taffey, this looks great! Can you get a vid up so i can at least play it vicariously??! ; )Hey julesy! It's funny, I've never commented on any of your PS3 showcase threads for your KILLER Star Wars levels, but let me just say that I love them all. I hadn't really played much of your stuff until after I published A New Hop, and I believe it was Morgana who said I was like the spiritual PSP counterpart of you. We seem to share the same general view of Star Wars.

So yes, I'll get a video up soon. I have a video capture setup now, but JKthree might beat me to it. Domik12 also made super-high-quality recordings of some of my other levels, so that's an option too. Regardless, I'll get on that and let you know when the first vid of this level goes live. Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks for listening too my feedback!

If you DO implement it:

Move checkpoint to right a bit and put a static stone wall to the left of it. Then put a protected brain on top of it. Make brain activate when you kill all TIE fighters.

BAM. Mini-boss in 5 easy minutes ;D

That's a great idea. I will see if the level "lets" me do that.

The thermo is completely and totally full, and I am 100% unable to *add* anything. I can move things, delete things, and corner edit shapes, but nothing new will go in - not even a single sticker. If you can believe it, I actually had to scavenge point bubbles from the beginning sections for use in the end of the level, it's that bad. On a saved copy of the level, I even went through and started deleting switches and sound objects just to see how far blown the thermo was. Even after killing about 10 switches/connectors/sounds and 20 stickers, the level was still overheated.

I'll play with this a bit and see what I can squeeze in there, if anything. It may well be that I need to delete significant sections of the level in order to fit that in, in which case I probably won't add it.

Try copying stuff with a creature brain on it then deleting the non-brain stuff and reattaching it elsewhere. maybe using this technique(if the thermo lets you) you only need to make the stone wall, add 3 mag keys and 1 mag switch and 3 motorbolts. Which I don't know how they affect thermo.

Also try(to grab thermo):

Delete unnecessary corners(ones you can't see etc.) for example, say you had a circle onscreen but you could only see half, you could delete the corners on the other half of the circle

Optimise logic - Say you have a perm switch that is two squares, you could delete a corner on each so it's a triangle. Make pistons on logic stiff, that kind of thing(you probably done all of that stuff though). How useful this is is up for discusion, but worth a try?

Ok, I messed with it some and it just isn't going to happen. The amount of logic I need to add is approximately as much logic as I had to delete in another (now nonexistent) section just so that I could complete the story. The level is fully optimized with regards to minimized polygons, stiffened pistons, bounding boxes, static materials, and colliding objects. Unfortunately I just can't get blood out of a rock.

Really, the original intent of the TIE fighter section is to be a bubble chaining exercise and not a boss fight. The basic concept is from comphermc's Brain Chain series, and I'm fine with it being low-key the way it is.

I do like your idea a lot though Paddy, and may just incorporate something like that into Return of the... er, Episode VI. Don't want to give the name away quite yet.

Again, thanks for the suggestion!

This is your worst level yet! Just kidding!

Anyways time for your awesome feedback. (With some awesome sauce on the side)

I will start off by saying "I enjoyed your sticker usage so much!"
It was incredible artwork. I like how you created the hoodie for Luke Skywalker (Or at least that's what he's called in the real movie)
It was amazing sticker usage. I also thought you created Darth Later in Episode IV,
but then I was thinking about Tie in the Sky by Salerie or whatever way it's spelled.
Anyways, the Darth Later (That's his name right?) costume looked awesome.

I enjoyed your humor so much Taffey.
I enjoy your humor on this site, and this Star Bores Saga series.
If people seen the original Star Wars movies, then these levels will have a lot of humor for you.
My favorite part was when Darth Later Mummbles saying he's your Fourth Cousin. (It was so funny that I burst out a giggle)
The end of the level when you freeze made me smile because you made the series seem so similar to the movie.
The thing is, it's nothing like the movie. (It's hard to say in a way, but I hope you know what I mean.)

I liked your building and stuff. The thing that made me go downhill is that the best parts don't last forever.
Such as the part with the AT-AT (By the way, that scene made me laugh too!)
That ship looked so awesome, but it's a very short fight and then it's gone. Not much of a problem, but I wanted to see something like that a lot.
Most of the level was just great scenery and visualizations. I wanted to see some cool mechanics, but not much to add.

There's something different about you and other creators.
I'm guessing it has to do with sticker work, but whatever it is, I enjoy it!
I can't wait to see your future humor, whether it's in a level or just personally.

I enjoyed the city in the sky (Forgot the name of the place) and also Dagobah (Or however it's spelled)
I enjoyed every bit of it period.
I gave you a 5 star :star::star::star::star::star: and a heart. Keep up with the good work Taffey.
I'll look fowarrd to your new levels.

Oh, and by the way, NEW AVATAR FTW!

Great level Taffey, once again you story telling is superb, and always funny, your characters seem to have a pulse. The level designs are as masterful as ever and I always have to stop your level a few times when playing just to try and figure out how you did that.

I wish I could get those bubbles on top of the one building, you only get one shot at the jump, and after three playthroughs (and counting), I have yet to make it. The race through the Dagobah swamps was a blast too.

The Star Bores saga is progressing nicely.

I can't wait for the next one, or any other level from you!!

Five stars and a heart with a thousand more coming I'm sure!!

Thanks for the reviews everyone! This is always my favorite part of the create process... Seeing people having a good time with a level. Oh, and I also quite enjoy being done creating it.

I liked your building and stuff. The thing that made me go downhill is that the best parts don't last forever.
Such as the part with the AT-AT (By the way, that scene made me laugh too!)

Most of the level was just great scenery and visualizations. I wanted to see some cool mechanics, but not much to add. Thanks for detailed review Spark! I'm glad you liked all my jokes.

As for the length... yes, that's always a struggle. High detail equals short length, which is essentially the case here. In the end, I'm happy with quality over quantity, although fitting in more gameplay is something I'll work hard to achieve.

There's something different about you and other creators.

Great level Taffey, once again you story telling is superb, and always funny, your characters seem to have a pulse. The level designs are as masterful as ever and I always have to stop your level a few times when playing just to try and figure out how you did that. VJ! Thanks so much for your support, both here and elsewhere. You rock.

I wish I could get those bubbles on top of the one building, you only get one shot at the jump, and after three playthroughs (and counting), I have yet to make it.Heh, that's a wee bit of optional challenge for the Xenons and other hardcore platforming fans. You can always suicide yourself and try the jump again, but you might lose more points than you get. Ah, decisions decisions.

Five stars and a heart with a thousand more coming I'm sure!! The same is true for you as well! :hero:

Hi, Taffey! I was very glad to try you new level. And as always it didn't disappoint me. As always you created interesting story in beautiful environments, your humour as always is perfect and I one more time was very impressed by your sticker using skill. As it were with all your previous levels first time I played for fun and several times after for detailed investigation of all levels parts. As always I found several good new ideas for creation.

So I must thank you for new great level and one more time for good lesson of very well done levels creation. And of course this level has my 5 stars and heart!

This... this is ridiculously amazing. Flawless in design. Amazingly fun, comical, and exactly what I'd expect from you. I don't even really need to review this, it'll just end up reading "perfect" anyway. But alas, I probably should.

Story

+ Very comical
+ Stays true to the basic structure of Star Wars, yet spoofs it very well
+ .........downright amazing.

Gameplay

+ Very fun and well paced
+ Flow of movement is directed very well
+ Transitions using ships works very well
+ Amazingly well done intro, it was actually like a cinematic

Final Thoughts
You've done it again.

(side note: When searching your name, I found a few results like "tsr13 tribute" and "tsr13 make more levels". You're a celebrity!)

(side note 2: I wrote this review at roughly 3:20 AM... and while watching Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Excuse me if it's lacking detail. I may edit it and add things later.)

Final Score::star::star::star::star::star:
And a heart. Surprise surprise.

Taffey .. You've done it again!

This is very easily one of my favourite levels now, I don't think I can knock it in anyway possible.

To start off your characters and stickering is about as good as it gets, it doesn't feel like the level is made around the stickers you had available, it feels as if you chose them to fit. The personalities of the characters and the characters themselves are very well done, and extremely likable. And the comedy .. extremely funny!

The presentation of the level itself was just as amazing. The change of environment and the attention to detail is impressive. And when I first saw the AT-AT I was amazed (it's a shame that the encounter with it had to end so soon.) Oh, and the introduction was, well .. impressive!

There's only one problem I had with the level, it felt a tad shorter then your last ones. Was it? I'm not sure, maybe I was just so engulfed in it's awesomeness time just flew by. Anyway, this is a 'must download'! 5/5 + heart.

Man... I was a little disappointed by this level's shortness. This long a wait for such a short level? Oh well, at least it's packed full of humor. Besides length I only had one problem with this and that was the trees in Yoga's Race. If you make little inward ridges in things like that, people can get stuck. Many times. I also wasn't a big fan of the ending, but that's not a big deal. This was all together still another peace of sparkling LBP gold! Nice work!

(side note: When searching your name, I found a few results like "tsr13 tribute" and "tsr13 make more levels". You're a celebrity!)Isn't that just about the weirdest thing ever? VelcroJonze clued me in on those tribute levels a couple of weeks ago. I mean, I'm totally flattered and I don't even know who those people are! I've been trying to find them and/or whatever message board they're from (if any) but so far without luck. I want to drop in and say 'hello' and thank them for it.

Taffey .. You've done it again!

There's only one problem I had with the level, it felt a tad shorter then your last ones. Was it? I'm not sure, maybe I was just so engulfed in it's awesomeness time just flew by.It is a little shorter, yes, but not by loads. I think the AT-AT sucked up a lot of thermo, as did the intro. Between the two there's about a dozen emitters and at least as many sound objects, not to mention all the stickering. I'm not willing to cut corners on the details, but what I need to get better at is making better use of existing setpieces. Lleonard Pler in particular is a master of this, as is amazingflyingpoo. On most of my levels you see something once and that's it, in theirs you often revisit areas that become repurposed based on the player's progress in the story - such as things to find or platforming done in the opposite direction.

I actually knew this was coming a few days in advance... I happened to nosily scroll through your chatter with Poo and saw you talking about testing. It's amazing what you can find with a little snooping around eh?

Man... I was a little disappointed by this level's shortness. This long a wait for such a short level?Natch. To quote Dr. Eldon Tyrell, the candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long. Well, that made sense until I realized that I wasn't a replicant.... but I digress. Silly thermo anyway.

Besides length I only had one problem with this and that was the trees in Yoga's Race. If you make little inward ridges in things like that, people can get stuck. Many times.Oh, really? Sorry about that. I tested it well over a hundred times probably but never had that particular issue. I know what you mean though with corner edited 'V' shapes. Which spot in particular caused you issues?

I also wasn't a big fan of the ending, but that's not a big deal. This was all together still another peace of sparkling LBP gold! Thanks B3! Glad you still enjoyed it despite the setbacks.

Ok so I was really looking forward to this and it actually surpassed my expectations in some ares but fell short in others. Now the one thing a loved was how you made all the different environments looks so different and yet connected at the same time. I also loved all your designs and how unique they were. The platforming as usual was fantastic as it always is. The one thing I had an issue with was the humor. After you met darth vader it just felt forced to me with his segments and was not all that funny. Other than that though a terrific level I gave it 5 stars and a heart.2010-04-07 01:39:00

Woo-hoo! I finally got to play the full, finished version of this level! Instead of posting all the stuff I did in my Beta feedback, I'm just going to comment on the awesome new stuff that has either changed or been added :-)

I LOVE what you did with the AT-AT! Not only does it not collapse and break the level randomly, but it also looks a lot better this way! Excellent job with that Taffey!

I love the addition of the to the ending with the sky city, and the fourth cousin joke made me laugh :-)

This is another excellent level to add to the incredible Star Bores series :-) Keep up the awesome work Taffey, and I think everyone will be holding their breath for Return of the Jedi :-)

P.S please check out my level i am updating it and i would appreciate some advice.

Thanks again for all your input on the beta version - it was a MASSIVE help.

Episode VI will definitely happen, and in fact I've already got tons of ideas for it on paper. As usual, though, it will be a good week or two before I truly dive back into Create Mode. I'm enjoying my standard post-publish creating hiatus for now, but it won't be long before I start jonseing for it again.

Hey Taffey! Once again you've outdone yourself. The humor is fantastic. I loved the part "Electrified Stick." Made me laugh very hard. And the Dark Lord of Procrastination The visual effects are great as well. One thing I loved about the level is, how well you used the stickers. I liked the design of Yoda. Very creative. Corner Editing is also great.

However, when you encounter the TIE fighters the brain is a bit... I don't know... lopsided. I'd have to agree with the others. But, it actually fits the story. And the fragility of the TIE.

I gave you 5:star: and a heart.

I am not keen to writing large reviews...

Hey Taffy. I was looking forward to this level. Visually you did not disappoint. I wanted an AT-AT and I got it. All the areas were very detailed and looked great. The humor was good. The chewy-guy-thing reveal made me laugh, as did AT-AT acronym. The main issue I had with the level was the game play, simply because there was not enough to do. The platforming that was there was basic and too easy. The Swamp race was my favorite part but was a little short. Also the force part was a cool idea but the red switch seemed out of place. Maybe you could have Yoga say in a a speech bubble “stand on the tree stump and use the force,” with your witty spin of course. Then have a tree stump with a proximity switch to lift the rock.

Technically this level had so much to look at and enjoy. You had so many clever ideas, but they along with the story, characters, and gameplay just didn’t come together as well as in A New Hop. This is still a five star/hearted level and a lot of fun but the first one set the bar very high.

I do want finish this off by saying the ending rocked! Carbon frozen sack, I love it = ) Did you time the sound of the block landing with the end level thud? If so…BRAVO!

Hello Taffey!.
After a while, here is my feedback.
Hey your style has been marked more on each level, I mean, excellent stickering, scenarios, history, cinematics and of course, humor.
This level has all of them and it's excellent. This is the first time that you work on an ice ambientation and that cave of the beggining is really really cool and gives a breath of fresh air to your levels. And one problem is that AT-AT, because I?m sure that you have put a lot of effort on it but it's really easy to kill, and then you only can see it for a little while. Other small problem is that some parts are a little simple for playing, because they are only based on simple platforms and jumping. And I think that these are the only problems that I had with your level.
For the goodies, you know, I think that each person that has left you feedback has already told you these things, that your stickering is great, your ambientation is fabulous, and more. But you made a really good job at this and is good to remeber you again all this excellent stuff.
And for me the greatest thing of the level are your characters. Darth Vader left in my face an expression like this::eek:. And Yoda something like this:.... uhhm wait, there are not icons to expres "killed by laughing" face, but this one is pretty near.
Awesome job Taffey, 5 brilliant stars and a heart you won, and grateful I am for this level create...

It's obviously a little bit off topic, but how do you do the invisible material glitch? I've seen in it(or rather I couldn't see it) in your level. I know it involves the material changer but I'm lost after that.2010-04-11 15:42:00

As far as I know, it involves changing the material of an object and pressing the start button right when it changes--thus, it's just a matter of timing. This is only based on what I've heard... there was a thread on it somewhere.

I can't find the thread on this but if anyone can send me a pm with the details I'd be very grateful.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'll type up a proper response shortly.

The new invisibility glitch involves pausing and saving your level immediately after using the material changer. If you catch it at just the right moment, you'll get invisible material. I have not been able to get this to work, however, and I have a feeling that has to do with the fact that I have the downloaded version of the game. New material textures load instantaneously (unlike the UMD version) so I can never catch it in time. The way I did invisible objects in this level was simply by using some captured invisible walls I created pre-cheesecake.

Played it earlier, this was a top-notch quality level. The intro was awesome, by the way how long did it take to make the STAR-WARS symbol, it was really cool. The yoda and darth-vader characters looked very good aswell. When yoda said, that's it, let the platforming flow through you, I laughed. I also like the gameplay, and pretty-much everything about the level.

I'm also WAY behind on responding to all the excellent and in-depth replies and reviews I've received, so I'll just say: Thanks!!

(If I owe you F4F and haven't done that for you yet, let me know and I'll get on it ASAP.)

Hey Tafforce be with you,

Congratulations on the Spotlight! To be honest though, you barely made it...it was just too boring.

Kidding, of course! I never got a chance to comment on this funny level since the beta, and having played the final version, I'm generally happy with the changes you made. Quite predictably, I liked the new intro with the sausage and burping sounds--I'm really flattered you liked my idea. Maybe I do have some funny inside me after all. Although I understand the changes you made with the AT-AT Walker, I kind of like the way it clumsily fell head first into the snow on the Beta version. Anyways, I know it was very buggy and it needed to be changed. Nonetheless, it was just a minor thing, and the rest of the level was just gleaming with your signature sense of humor. Great job, and I'm looking forward to the rest of the series...

Laugh I did have a lot,

Thanks jc! Grateful I am for your help with the beta, yes. Glad you find it funny I do. The AT-AT very temperamental it is, falling looked good it did but impossible to make it reliable it was.

Thrilled for the Spotlight I am indeed, to work on Episode VI very motivated I am.

What do we have here? Oh, just another level from Taffey. It's not like his other levels were excellent and some of the best of LBP PSP, so I don't know: should I play this one? Will it make me yawn as usual?

Hehe, ok, enough of joking. Since you posted this level, I was looking forward to play it, but I've been too busy these past weeks at work, and as for videogames, big Final Fantasy XIII crossed. On the few moments I had for the PSP, I opted to play games from my "unplayed" mountain (too many good games that I bought but couldn't test yet). But today, I started playing all pending LBP PSP levels, and let me tell you that yours was the first one that I picked. I couldn't imagine a better way to meet again the Community World. And I wasn't disappointed.

Your sense of humour is as good and unique (and of course fun) as usual, but the best thing is how you keep pushing your skills and excelling yourself: storytelling, stickers, corner editor, custom characters... Special effects are better than ever (like when you crash into the ice cave), and I also loved the variety of environments, really reflecting those of the movie. If anything, I would say that this level was too standard on the puzzles side, and the ending was kind of a letdown, I was expecting some more gameplay on Bespin.

Anyway, another awesome level from Taffey. Your Star Bores saga is getting even better than the Space Corps Series!

Wow! This is one of your best levels so far!
The Visuals are great and it's very clear how much effort and time you put into this level. As always it was very entertaining and is one of my highest rated levels that i've downloaded! Everything is polished and nothing feels out of place. I would really like to know how you achieved the effect of an explosion such as when the at-at blows up.
The end was surprising aand left me on the edge of my seat waiting for the next installment!

Uh Taffey... I hate to break to you but... I'm leaving you... I mean, I managed to escape from your level! On the part where the giant alien snake thingy spits out its possible to run up the invisible floor. And thus reach the floor of the level. Just thought I'd let you know!2010-04-19 19:55:00

Tearing yourself away from a stack of unplayed stuff you've already purchased is difficult, believe me I know what it's like.

Special effects are better than ever (like when you crash into the ice cave), and I also loved the variety of environments, really reflecting those of the movie.I have salieri to thank for the explosion effects. My gas-based explosions are a direct rip-off of his, as is Darth Later's unique complexion.

If anything, I would say that this level was too standard on the puzzles side, and the ending was kind of a letdown, I was expecting some more gameplay on Bespin.Fair enough, and an accurate observation to be sure. I classically over-build the beginnings of all my levels, only to sweat out the last 75% of the level because there isn't enough thermo left. I would have built Bespin earlier into the process, but I simply didn't have a plan... as is my usual method. By the time I got to that point I really had to squeeze things into thermo space as best I could, and in some cases even went back to earlier points in the level to delete things to make room.

Anyway, another awesome level from Taffey. Your Star Bores saga is getting even better than the Space Corps Series! Thanks again Lleonard, and glad I was able to lure your PSP away from the stacks of those other games just begging for you attention.

5 Stars and a Heart! Thanks Forgotten. I worked hard to make it a fun experience, so feedback like yours is really the best part of the whole process for me.

The explosion is a fairly simple process. Getting the head and the body of the AT-AT to blow up at different times is a little trickier, but I'll stick to the head for now. So, I just started out by making two fan-shaped pieces of material - one large and one small. I changed them both into gas and experimented with material changing them until I was happy with the color combination. I then glued the pieces together (the smaller "inner" fan is a thin layer object) and captured it as my explosion object. I rigged an emitter to emit the explostion where the head of the AT-AT is, and set the lifetime to about 0.3 seconds. I then put a hidden creature brain on the head and connected the head, explosion emitter, and sound object to the grab switch on the belly. When you grab the switch, the head goes poof and the explosion pops out, just like that. Simple, right?

On the part where the giant alien snake thingy spits out its possible to run up the invisible floor. And thus reach the floor of the level. Just thought I'd let you know!Gah! Well, sorry about that. No matter how many times you test something, it's almost inevitable that someone will find a way to break out of the level eventually. Regardless, thanks for letting me know!
