Do you mean a dedicated PSN card like an iTunes gift card or just a card that you can use for buying stuff on PSN. If you just want a card that you can use on PSN then you can use a Debit Credit card.2010-04-04 06:34:00

You can just buy them mostly at any stores with game sections (walmart/ gamestop /etc.)
There are $20 Cards and $50 dolars cards, each worth the value, when you buy them you input the code in the card in your PS3 and you get whatever the amount for the card was in PSN credit.

Hope that helps!

A quick google for "psn cards new zealand" suggests they're not actually available (http://forums.nzgamer.com/index.php?showtopic=10549) in New Zealand at the moment.

Thank you for your recent email.

In response to your enquiry we would like to advise you that Playstation Network Cards are not available in New Zealand and this time. Unfortunately we do not have details as to when they will become available but when they do it would more then likely be stated on our website at http://nz.playstation.com.

Regards,
Zachary

An old email to be sure, but the official website (http://nz.playstation.com/ps3/peripherals/detail/item229908/PlayStation-Network-Cards/) still lists their release date as "TBC".

Still that might all be out-of-date anyway. Check whatever stores sell PS3 games.

Only with a US account. Shouldn't be a problem, but remember that DLC is region locked.2010-04-12 10:34:00

I'm not 100% on this, but i think you'd have to get an NA copy for that.2010-04-12 12:01:00

Yep all video games on the PS3 system are region free.

e.g a PAL territory game can play on an american system.
However DLC is region locked, a PAL territory game need Pal territory DLC.

But I dont know what would happen if you used a countries DLC that is in PAL territory but is not were you are from, I would guess that it would work.

I'm pretty sure most games aren't region locked, (For DLC) but LittleBigPlanet is.

So if you made an American account, you'd need an American copy of the game.

I know PSN cards just came to Canada in June or so...

They should be available everywhere, but SONY's a bunch 'o meanies.

No games are region locked. Only DLC is. And that is the problem. I could save quite a bit of money that way.2010-04-12 12:50:00

As others have said, using a US card will cause problems.

It seems unlikely that you're the only person in NZ having problems getting hold of a PSN card. I'd suggest contacting customer services, and seeing what they suggest might be the best way to get hold of a card which will work for you.

Tip - to test your DLC and avoid the risk of buying a locked DLC in your region, download free DLCs and see if they work.
I don't know if PSN cards got in NZ, but you can try buying them online. (i'm planning in getting one with 50$ value to get the LBP content I ever dreamed of and the Uncharted 2 map pakcs )

Bumping the thread is fine if you have something to add, it beats cluttering the forums with a thread that is only applicable to a minority of forum users. The first thing to do when making a thread is to search for one already made, and if your piece of information is relevant to that thread and it hasn't been said before then bumping is ok. That is why we don't have an auto lock feature on threads that are old.2010-07-14 08:35:00
