Survival at the sea! (new version)

Survival at the sea! (new version)moonwire I first created this level when I was at my grandma's house, and this is my first level ever published on the PSP... It's basically a survival level which I have made all by myself. There's not a lot of survival challenges here at LBP for PSP (at least I have not noticed any), so I thought I would make one. (note that was then, there's a considerable amount of new ones I have seen and played now) . Survival at the sea is basically a survival level where you must dodge the fiery cannonballs that are being shot at you. When you play the level, I can tell you that I made the cannonballs sometime miss to hit you on deck purposely, as if everyone had hit, the level would have been all to hard for everyone, and me too. Edit: Ok, as suggested I have now added 4 cannons, with increasing difficulty (climax at 4 cannons). I also changed the end place, no more up in the skies, now the exact opposite (no not hell), the bottom of the sea. I had to delete all the previous logic and renew it, and it worked pretty well I think. If you want to know, I achieved the logic by using consecutive delay switches. Each switch would activate a certain function along with the next delay switch. Works pretty well. If I would want to add anything I can just re-place some wires and/or add a new delay switch. Sorry for the long time before the update, I took a big break, but now I am probably back. like 99% sure. | 2010-04-02 12:22:00 Author: moonwire Posts: 1627 |

I enjoyed your cartoonish style to it. The reason I never make challenges is because they do not last very much, but I liked it and gave you a five star! congrats. | 2010-04-04 20:05:00 Author: Spark151 Posts: 801 |
Hey moonwire! Nice to see in PSP land. Cool little survival challenge you've put together here - I had a lot of fun playing it. The look and feel is fantastic, and somehow familiar..... I was expecting the Kraken to show up at any moment. The rocking of the boat and the timing of the cannonballs and point bubbles was spot on - you definitely have it tuned right. I thought the way you have the level entrance set up is brilliant. I don't think I've seen it done that way before... I like it though. Oh, and I like spaghetti too. Mmmm. I played a bunch of times and finally managed to get the top score. Yay! One thing I didn't notice though was the difficulty increasing. That's not 100% necessary of course, but it is theoretically possible to play forever... but I guess that's part of the challenge. I gave it 4.5/5 stars, which of course ends up as 5 stars in-game, as well as a heart. Good stuff here! | 2010-04-06 05:26:00 Author: Taffey Posts: 3187 |
i beat u!! >DD awesome level tho. i loved it :3 | 2010-04-06 07:16:00 Author: Alismuffin Posts: 1328 |
Ahhh, thanks for all the warm comments! I have been thinking about increasing the difficulty further out, since it keeps the same tempo all the time, but sooner or later you will make, maybe, a mistake. I will upgrade it though, somewhere in the future, after finishing a project or two I am making now... | 2010-04-06 17:33:00 Author: moonwire Posts: 1627 |
i beat u!! >DD awesome level tho. i loved it :3Curse you!!! *runs to play level again* Ahhh, thanks for all the warm comments! I have been thinking about increasing the difficulty further out, since it keeps the same tempo all the time, but sooner or later you will make, maybe, a mistake. I will upgrade it though, somewhere in the future, after finishing a project or two I am making now...I was thinking that probably all you really need to add would be two extra cannons shooting fireballs, so 4 total. Set up an off-screen cart that rolls along slowly (or a piston, but I think a cart would be less temperamental) and triggers dissolve key/switch setups connected to each cannon's emitter. The level would start off with one cannon firing, then 20 seconds in #2 starts, then #3, then #4. It's a thought anyway and shouldn't take all that long to implement. Regardless, it's still a fun level! | 2010-04-06 17:40:00 Author: Taffey Posts: 3187 |
