Return to LBP after a long hiatus...

Hello (again) to all the members of LBPCentral!

Maybe someone remembers me from earlier days; I made a pair of levels a few months after the game came out (Temple of the Eye (Parts 1 and 2). I've been away from the game for a while and I've just recently gotten back into it. Boy, was I surprised at the advancements people have made since I last played. I'm amazed at how polished and refined some of these newer levels are, with introduction screens and CUSTOM BACKGROUNDS and such! (that last one especially blew me away)

Anyway, since I've decided to invest some quality time again with this game, I'd really like to catch up on all of the cool things that creators have figured out so that I might be able to use them in my new project. I've taken a look at the logic packs, and they've really opened my eyes. If anyone has any other good sources of information they would like to share, I'd be very grateful! I'm especially interested in these custom backgrounds and invisible objects. Thanks!

About Me: I'm a Mechanical Engineering student at Pennsylvania State University (USA), which is one of the main reasons I had to quit for a while; I was low on time (though recently, the StarCraft II Beta may be responsible for that). I love the potential that this game has and the enormous flexibility that it gives creators (though there are many things that can be improved). All in all, I'm excited to be back and to get started. That's it for now.... I just wanted to re-introduce myself and announce my return to one of the best creativity-inspiring games ever.

Cool story.. and yup there has been quite a bit happening since you left. Make sure you check out the Community Spotlights for some of the latest and greatest coming from LBPC while you have been away.

Hey Hi and Welcome! Back..

so How about a Hammer of the Gods Level?... You could have red herring and double-necked guitars! I believe Teebonesy has a rather in-depth thread on Bakscratches' layer glitch as well. Just please don't judge the communities' progress by 'cool levels' because that hasn't changed one bit. I for one can't wait for LBP to become stale to the masses... the quality of levels will rise quicker than a 'Cursed Bay's tide'.		2010-04-02 02:48:00

Oh yeah Gravel, I am well aware of the "Cool Levels" flaws and spam levels. It's one of the most frustrating things about this game (besides the old "unglue everything glitch"). The best levels out there don't get the recognition they deserve (at least in-game). For all my level browsing needs, I naturally hit up this website! The best minds in the game are on this site, in my opinion. I already do have a level idea started (sorry, no hints just yet), but I'm certainly open to inspiration
