The LittleBigWorkshop Monthly Level Theme Create Contest April It's the 1st of the month today and with absolutely no fooling around today, it's time to announce the theme for April! The theme for April is... The Great Treasure Hunt! http://www.littlebigplanet.com/images/sized/images/assets/shared/story_levels/badges/potc_thekraken-96x96.png Sackboy is quite the treasure seeking little fellow. Ever since he took his First Steps, he's been collecting Score Bubbles and all sorts of goodies to fill up his Pop-It. Since it is April and Easter is fast approaching, we thought what better way to celebrate the concept of a festive scavenger hunt than to get everyone crafting all kinds of fun treasure hunts for Sackboy to participate in! What Sackboy seeks in his hunt is entirely upto you! Perhaps he's after some rare prize conveniently located next to a Scoreboard? Then again, the level could be scattered with lots of collectibles throughout the level for Sackboy to pick-up? Or maybe you've hidden something cool and amazing for Sackboy to find? For that matter, what exactly would a Sackperson consider to be treasure? After all, does a Sackperson really need an abundance of gold coins when the LittleBigPlanet is their oyster? Well I suppose that's upto you to decide... http://forums.littlebigworkshop.com/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif The most important factor is to establish what Sackboy is seeking in the level, either via the level's details or with an introductory Magic Mouth and then setting Sackboy off to seek out this great treasure or collectible! Who knows? You may even find your way to winning your own Golden Treasure (http://www.littlebigplanet.com/en-us/game_guide/ps3/downloadable_content/rare_prize_crown) for your Great Treasure Hunt level... http://forums.littlebigworkshop.com/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif So that's your theme for April... The Great Treasure Hunt! Back to those rules that we all know and love... Rules 1. The contest is open to ALL regions. 2. This contest is for the original LittleBigPlanet on Playstation 3, so please do not create and publish levels on LittleBigPlanet PSP for the purpose of entering this contest. 3. The level must relate to the theme of the month in someway, in this case the theme is Treasure Hunt Levels and therefore the level must be clearly established as such throughout. It shouldn't be too hard to meet this month's theme, however whether or not a level meets the theme for the month is entirely the judges' decision. 4. The month's entries must be published before the 1st day of the following month. Meaning that the deadline for this month's theme of The Great Treasure Hunt is April 30th. 5. Once the deadline has passed, you may re-publish your level for the purpose of fixing serious bugs/problems or adding minor aesethic adjustments. However you must not alter your level drastically, for example by increasing its overall length or adding entirely new sections to the level. Any level considered to have been altered drastically after the deadline will be disqualified. 6. Entries for each theme must be brand new published levels. We will not accept previously published levels that were originally published before the announcement of the month's theme. Any levels found to have been published before the announcement will be disqualifed. 7. Each player may only submit one level per month for the contest, any player found to have published more than one level will be disqualified for that particular month's contest. 8. There is only a single Prize Crown to be awarded to the winner chosen by the judges for each theme, which will be awarded to the PSN that the level is published under. You may use Online Create if you wish, however bear in mind that there's only a single prize on offer and it will be awarded to the publisher of the level. 9. At the end of each month, the month's theme will end and judging will begin. The judges consist of myself and a number of other community members who have been selected especially for the task of judging these levels. Whilst we will endeavour to pick the level that we feel is best amongst the entries, you may not always agree, however the judges' decision is ultimately final. How To Submit Your Level To submit your level for this month's theme, just add the term "(LBW4)" to your level's name. LBW for LittleBigWorkshop and the number 4, since it's the 4th month's contest. For this month though, the term is "(LBW4)". Just put that term into your level's name and provided that you publish the level before April May 1st and the level meets the month's theme, it will be eligible. Judges will not be held responsible for not judging a level they couldn't locate due to not following these given instructions. With the correct term in your published level's name though, we should be able to locate the level on the LittleBigPlanet server and judge it accordingly. So just follow the instructions above and your level should be fine. Once you've published your level, feel free to use a single post in this thread or even the Promotion Zone (http://forums.littlebigworkshop.com/lbp/board?board.id=promozone) to promote your level to the masses, although whether you choose to promote your level further is entirely optional. Please do not ask the judges if they have found and/or played your level yet. Quite simply we will most likely have a lot of entries to get through and we just will not have the time to keep answering such questions, however I can assure you that the judges' will play every single level submitted properly. Therefore it is vitally important that you remember to place the given term into your level's name, as the judges will not be held responsible for not judging any levels that they are unable to locate on the LittleBigPlanet server due to the level not being published in the manner described. Delete it, re-publish it, done. Then you can enter it. It's pretty clear under the rules that it would be subject to disqualification. The level cannot be published prior to the date in any form.

That was the clearly the intended metaphor for the choice of level theme this month, but it doesn't have to be a hunt for easter eggs - can be anything you like. If you read the entire LBW thread linked to in the first post, and post any additional queries as to what is and isn't acceptable in that thread, then StevenI will usually answer them fairly promptly.

They made a mistake in the section How To Submit Your Level. The fourth line down says publish your level before April 1st. That would be rather difficult so it's safe to assume they mean May 1st

Man... it is my dream to obtain the crown, but my levels would get smoked so fast they'd fall out of the seal..... Besides, there's no way i could do one in a month... unless the theme was Peaceful landscapes or something small

Don't get your hopes up... I don't even know what i placed. I think I have a pretty good chance of doing well in the contest. check out my level "Wonderland Nightmare" by Fancy_Zombie (obviously) and I've gotten better since creating that level too.

Did he already have it partially completed and got lucky that his level fit the theme? Almost certainly. It's actually not uncommon, since the themes are generally quite vague. The same was undoubtedly true of last month's competition winner by TheAdipose and Luos_Desruc.

I'm not actually working on LBW4 entry but I'm having this issue of not being able to create too, is it some kind of infectious disease infecting the LBP community?! Good luck guys hope you can churn these things out as the deadline looms closer by the minute. Would be a pain to not finish something in time you've been working on for a while.
