LBPC Mafia - Round IV (Night 2)

So, my friends... we meet again... :kz:

Sign-ups are now closed. The game is in play.

The same old rules are present... with a twist:


To play, you need to sign up. To sign up, just comment here saying you want to play. After I get a decent amount of players, I will PM every one of you your special roles. You are NOT allowed to tell anyone your role . It's a secret between you and me. After I assign everyone their roles, I will then announce the start of the game.

There are two factions; the Mafia and Civilians. The game proceeds in turns.

Each night, while the civilians sleep, the dreaded Mafia privately decides on which civilian to assassinate. They will do this through PM's. When they decide, they will PM me.

Each day, the terrified mob of civilians accuse people of being in the Mafia and execute someone. Everyone- including the Mafia, will have to vote on who to execute each day. The person with the most votes, dies. Civilians may NOT PM each other or anyone in the game. All discussion about the game should remain in this thread only.

If the civilians manage to kill off all of the Mafia members, they win the game. But, if the Mafia outnumbers the civilians, they lose and the Mafia wins.

The game is largely about denouncing people as Mafia members, and eloquently proclaiming your innocence. There's no real way to know who's in the Mafia and who isn't. "Look at those shifty eyes! She's obviously in the Mafia!" and "I've never trusted that guy," are both perfectly valid reasons to accuse someone. The sheer injustice of it all is part of the fun.

ROLES:

Mafia Faction
Mafioso- Is a member of the Mafia. Every night, all the members of the Mafia will come together and PM each other to decide which Civilian to kill.

Civilian Faction
Sheriff- Has the ability to detect the role of any player. Every night, the Sheriff will PM me about a particular player's role and I will tell them. However, since no one can reveal their roles, the Sheriff will have to convince everyone else of what they know through trust.
Cop- Same as the Sheriff, but instead of knowing particular roles, they will only have the ability to know whether a player is a Mafioso or a civilian.
Serial Killer- A very powerful role. The Serial Killer may kill anyone during the night, but can only do this twice in the whole game. But, he/she can't kill two people in one night.
Doctor- Can protect one player from any night attacks. They will PM me each night of the player of their choice.
Extra Roles- There are some roles I will not put on this list. You'll have to find out during game play .
Civilians- All remaining players will be regular civilians with no additional abilities. They will vote each day, but that's about it.

Everyone who has died in this game will be listed as a "Ghost". They are still able to talk freely on here, but are absolutely forbidden to vote, reveal anyone's roles, or PM eachother about the game. There are no zombies allowed.

I want at least 12 or so players. 1/4 of them will be the Mafia, and the rest will be civilians/special roles.

TURNS
The game is supposed to start at night, but I want all platers to at least have one chance to play, so we'll start during the day. (Keep in mind, Day and Night have nothing to do with day and night in real life. It's just the name of a turn.) During the day, all players will vote on who to kill; even the Mafia members. After all the votes come in, I will provide a short narrative of the death, and then night starts.

During the night, no one is permitted to post about anything game-related. All game-related discussion should take place during the day. After I receive all of the PM's from the Mafia and the special civilian roles, I will provide another short narrative of what took place at night, and then the day starts once again. As I said earlier, this keeps going until all of the Mafia are dead, or when the Mafia outnumber the Civilians.

Reminders- Please do not reveal your role to anyone else, or discuss the game anywhere else. I want to avoid cheating. The Mafia may PM other Mafia members whenever they wish, but Civilians cannot. Also, remember: No game-related posts during a night time turn.

4 days. School for 4 days. I think I can reasonably say that Pantyer is going to log on now, seeing that school must be over (if he still goes to school on Good Friday, then I'm pretty much shocked :eek: ).

1. First off, go to your region's official PlayStation website.
2. Go to the log in box, and log in (if you already haven't).
3. Go to your profile.
4. Click on the "Portable ID" tab.
5. Copy the HTML code.

7. Click on the "Settings" tab.
8. Click on the "Edit Your Signature" link.

Alright, just so we know what's happening:

Gritty, smelly, and just plain not nice, the metropolis of Sackago has been slowly rotting away, with government officials and local law enforcement doing absolutely nothing to stop the ever-increasing crimes. With the imposing LBPC Mafia infesting the already nasty streets and alleys of Sackago's many districts and neighborhoods, it's about time that the law is taken into "local" hands.

The populous of Sackago has declared a city-wide sweep of justice and brutality, guaranteeing that someone will die EVERY NIGHT. Unfortunately, they don't have any evidence of who's a Mafiaso and who isn't, so they've narrowed down the list to 12 unlucky souls.

Will justice prevail and the civillians finally gaining a hold of their home? Or will the LBPC Mafia destroy yet another city, spreading around their sinister web of lies and tyranny? Only time will tell, as the sun rises for Day 1 of this sweep.

EDIT: Okay, so I re-read the thread's history. So here's what I got:

Takelow started the Winky Era, while Doopz voted Takelow. Doopz ended the era (not important, but heh... I got nothing so far) but not before changing votes to Silver. Astrosimi then goes to vote Doopz, because he's a "scientist", apperantly. Then Silver posted some stupid stuff involving some singing. Then we have Outlaw making some popcorn joke, which I post a man eating popcorn as a reply. Takelow votes me for eating popcorn (what?), and Kernel votes Takelow for a random[.org] reason.

I must apologise firstly for my absence- I will be at Disneyland today, and so won't be checking replies to this post for quite some time. However, I do plan to reply, so please discuss

After examining the voting record, and conversation from the first round, I have come to the conclusion that Cybersora is a mafioso. What makes you think that? you may ask... and the answer is "several things"

firstly, Cybersora did not vote for Silver- and while this does not make him guilty (many of us did not vote for silver), I find it odd that he decided to back up silver in voting for Trip. Trip did not die last night, as two mafiosos thought he looked suspicious enough to continue the charade. This morning, Cybersora has again started a voting record against trip, for no other reason than he started winking again. This could be random circumstance, of course, but it seems rather odd that two "random" votes both end up on the same "scapegoat".

Secondly, Cyber seems rather anxious to talk about the game, and for things to proceed. During the "night", he encouraged people to openly discuss who they thought was who. In the past few posts, you can see he is ever willing to emphasize that his choice is right (""...lets cut to the crap" results") despite the fact that he has little evidence. He is quick in this round to start the ball rolling, in the hopes that a bandwagon agaisnt trip can be attained.

Thirdly, he started the idea of questioning people- but immediately discontinued. Mafia members wish to know the roles of civillians, but already posess the knowledge that they are civillians. He dropped the matter before anyone answered anything, as the information was useless to him. This questioning also created an air of Witch Hunts, from which he could proclaim civillians mafiosos.

Fourthly, he has called out several members of the thread already (myself included), attempting to say that they are mafiosos. While, I obviously cannot prove everyone innocence right now, this does seem rather odd. Calling out others as mafia members without evidence does more to promote hysteria than it does get to the bottom of things. Of course, I suppose that is what I am doing now- but you'll notice I give a bit more reason than winking.

In conclusion, Cybersora is clearly a mafioso in my view.

As I said, I will answer all rebuttals at a later time- I have an urgent meeting on Space Mountain, sorry but it can't be avoided

Thirdly, he started the idea of questioning people- but immediately discontinued. Mafia members wish to know the roles of civillians, but already posess the knowledge that they are civillians. He dropped the matter before anyone answered anything, as the information was useless to him. This questioning also created an air of Witch Hunts, from which he could proclaim civillians mafiosos.

First off, I voted Silver in the beginning. Then I switched off because I thought a Mafioso did that to confuse us. Honestly, I did that last time I was a Mafioso, so I had a feeling someone did the same thing. This was a sure fired fail, when Silver turned out to be a Mafioso. So ya, I suck at picking out Mafiosos, but I that's why I wanted some system here, so I won't keep picking the good guys here.

Second, I don't know why, but I seem to always go after trip. Wierd huh? It's just a feeling. Maybe it's a rivalry or something. :/

Finally, I want people to post here, because it's going to die like the first round. Seriously, did you notice how only we voted (oh, and Doopz)? This is dying, and I'm just trying to keep it alive. So sorry if I'm trying to keep the ball rolling. I'll just stay quiet like the rest of you if that's the case.

I'm still keeping my vote for the moment. Yes, I really wan't to get rid of Cyber. I am 100% sure that he is a mafia member, and though I expect I'll be attacked for it, I wish to see him brought to justice. If you still don't believe me, there isn't any more evidence I can give you- but I am willing to put my life on the line as well. If Cybersora is voted out, I will vote myself out in following rounds. If you think I'm mafia, I'll back you up in trying to remove me from the game.


I did read your post Cyber, so don't consider it wasted, however I did not find anything that I needed to rebut. Its a nice story, but we both know I'm right in my conclusions.

Exactly. By all means here, this is now dead. Burnvictim is bandwaggoning me for my attempts and trying to get some people to talk here, but either way it's still boring, especially with only 3 voters. Sigh..

Outlaw, is it okay if I can commit suicide? I'm not lying here. It's just that everybody gave up on this thread, and the only people active are the ones with too much maturity to go on and start making dramatic moments like "Witch!" and such. In other words, we lack the suspence here, and I'm not that into the game anymore.

(I blame this thread's low activity on school. Many of our players are at school, and when they come home, they got homework. Maybe we can pick up some more momentum in summer.)

So ya, I'm done. Call me a joy kill, but I'm tired of being a Civilian when no one else is on, because we have no one else to interrogate (or torture). Oh, and is it okay if I'm the one who makes my death story. Seeing that I'm commiting the suicide, I might as well be the one to tell everybody how I'll do it.

From my experience of being a previous host, Mafia always try to bring up the fact they're civilian, when they're actually not.

I think that is a bit of it too- rajah, silver, and kernel (arguably some of the most active players in this game, and the past ones) were all voted out in the beginning We cant blame outlaw for this (and I don't think anyone is), it IS the players responsibility to pipe in. If people don't answer, it might be time to let the mafia games end for a while =/

Well... that's a good question really. But there's two factors that you're missing:

1. The doctor's unlikely to save me, not when majority of everybody active (including myself) is voting for me.

I'm more in favor of the nuking method myself. There are people who haven't posted in this thread for eons, and waiting seems rather unfair to some of the active participants who have been voted off already. I think its time for the Mafia thread to just lay low for a while, and restart with a new game at a later date. While the city was having it's trouble getting all of it's population to come to the city meetings to decide who to put in jail, a nuclear bomb fell on the entire nation, engulfing everything in an array of fire and radiation, their was nuclear winter, over three quarters of the earth's population were killed brutally by zombies that formed by the mutation that occurred from the radiation.
