The Caption Contest - ROUND 32

All rise, the Round 32 of the Caption Contest is now in session!

The premise is simple; whoever places the best caption on the provided LBP image wins! The caption could be a thought going through the characters' heads, or something the characters are saying, or even a short story leading up to the picture! It can practically be anything you want, as long as it's clean and abides by the forum rules.

NOTE: Humor is the only way to win!

Every two weeks a new picture will be posted, and the winners from the previous round shall be announced.

Rules:

Only two captions per user (you do not have to post both at the same time).

Image editing/manipulating (Photoshopping/GIMP-ing) is allowed.

Awards will be handed out at the end of the round, usually on a Saturday after the 2 week time limit. At that time, the image for the next round will be displayed.

Post the pictures on this thread, there will be no gallery section but they will be archived when the round is over.

Awards: (currently being tallied further below since XP is not available due to site upgrade)

Winning Caption -the best caption gets this. [250 xp]

Second Place - second best caption. [100 xp]

Third Place - third best caption. [50 xp]

Consolation Prize - this award goes to the caption that didn't get an award, but was still very good(this may not be handed out every time). [20 xp]

This round was so amazing with all the fun and festive entries. We thought last round was hard, but this round was even harder to judge. However after much discussion and a few dozen coin tosses, we were able to figure it out!

Great picture again this time too guys and some "cracking" entries already. ( sorry couldn't help myself ).

We could be in for an eggsellent eggstravaganza this round that could leave us all shell shocked. ( sorry I did it again didn't I ).

Thinking up something for this one could really scramble my brain ( oops ).

Can I enter a video if it's just text coming on screen then disappearing again? (I haven't animated the picture) I couldn't really do mine as just a picture with speach bubbles on it.

Ummm... Well, I guess it wouldn't hurt, but there is no extra credit for it and actually not sure how I would archive it after the round is over . I would rather see a pic with captions, but we have allowed animated gif's to do something similar to what you are wanting. Just a thought, can you just have the pic replicated as a few panels?

I didn't expect there to be any extra credit, I just have to have a movie to get the idea across, thanks.

Photoshop is great though I mostly use Fireworks, and others have used Gimp. The easiest is simply posting it on Photobucket and add your text balloons there, but it is a bit limited depending on what you are wishing to do.

Do you guys know of a good program to caption these with?

This may sound weird at first but Microsoft Publisher is pretty good. Almost everyone has it on their computer and if you go to autoshapes there's some speech bubbles. Once you add them in click and drag over the whole picture, right click it and save as picture.

Simples *Squeaky noise that meerkat on the 'Compare the market' and 'Compare the meerkat' makes after saying simples*.

Nope... We changed it to a 2 week contest starting with round 30. Reason being, so more folks had time to enter as well as give us enough time to think up a new concept, create the set and take the pic. Got to be quite a bit of work doing that every week.

This round's deadline is this Saturday and listed above on the entry pic you used.

Hi. I use photobucket too and it took me a while to realise you can alter the size before you upload your photos to your albums.

When on the upload screen go to 'more options' and you can change the size at which the upload is saved. I select 640 X 480 for the caption contest pics and 320 X 240 for level thread pics and they seem to be just about perfect.

Try that next time and see what you think.

After a few days' delay, I have finally posted round 3 of What Would Sackboy Say (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=25161-What-Would-Sackboy-Say-A-PSP-Caption-Contest-Round-3-%2A%2AEntries-due-April-18th%2A%2A&p=436131). In case you don't know what that is, it's the PSP equivalent of the always-excellent Caption Contest. Deadlines for the two contests occur on opposing weeks, which means there's new hilarity (and prizes!) every week. Head on over and post a pic there as well!
