Moderation system still broke!

Archive: 39 posts

I just recieved a message that my mario pa3 level was just moderated. Why is this still happening?.

Now both of my levels that made it to page 1 of most hearted have been moderated. Obviously it has nothing to do with the level as almost all other mario based levels on lbp use my object prizes from it.

Little Dead Space was brought back from moderation so its obvously still on the servers. The only reson for my levels got moderated is due to jealous little kids, so obviously this could be too. Media molecule just seem incompetent to me and are always blaming sony instead of actually caring enough to do anything about it. I dont know what to do, publish yet again or try to get it recovered?

Im yet again very dissapointed at media molecule and sony .

I agree 100% Steve. MM needs to get things together. I think the main reason why it got moderation is because like you said little angry kiddies go around and "Good Grief" things in your level. Well, you have my condolences. If I were you, I wouldn't publish again. I'd rather you make an original level to replace Mario. But the reality is, I'm not you so it's your decision.2010-03-26 21:30:00

Man, stevebigguns being moderated again, when will this tragedy of needless moderation go away? I hope you get your levels back man, i really enjoy them and it's a shame that some people are selfish enough to good grief a level that they are jealous of. Hope things go your way soon man.2010-03-26 21:37:00

I agree with Comishguy, and steve, that really sucks, you probably spent hundreds of hours working on that (or at least that is what it looked like) and then it gets taken off for no reason? daang man2010-03-26 21:37:00

Are you kidding me?! It had like 100,000 plays, i would be livid. If dead space came back then surely this one will right? Dont republish just wait and see if it comes back.2010-03-26 21:40:00

Wow. Once again the immaturity of some of the LBP community (not the people here at LBPC). It's just unfair and uneccessary....
This stuff bugs me.

I'm so sorry about this. I can imagine how you feel as I've had some of this problems too.
In this case is still whorse. This level had so many thousands of hearts and was in 1st page of highest ranked...
If it's been moderated because of copyright issues, then thousands of levels in LBP should be moderated too...
More levels have been brought back, not only Little Dead Space.
My Hell's Angels 2 was moderated, I republished a version with softer dialogs, and after 3 weeks the original was brought back.
Good luck bud

The only problem with waiting to see what happends is how do I know they will do anything about it as Little Dead Space is the only highly popular level that I have seen come back. Dino island, sci fi worlds etc are still gone. Im at my publishing limit, so if I publish new then it wont have a space for the 200 000+ plays version. Do I try to contact sony or mm? From what ive heared they rarely listen or care.2010-03-26 21:46:00

I am dumbfounded.

Awhile back Spaff assured us that steps were being taken with the Sony moderators. It might be worth sending both Spaff as well as CC a pm bringing this to their attention since both were involved in the mdaj thread awhile back.

So sorry to hear that Steve. Just curious, do they just send a psn message or an email to your email address?

LittleBigWorkshop? Email Media Molecule? Contact ConfusedCartman? (just throwing ideas here)

I honestly think the only reason why Dead Space was brought back was because it was voted level of the year. I was afraid the moderation system was still broken since no mention of it was brought up of it in the past few months. You'd think maybe there would be some change now that MM is now owned by Sony. Why couldn't they just not remove the level when Sony has to look at a level due to excessive good griefs?

Its in the LBP Messages selection. It lists all moderated levels before you select view messages. Ill try sending cc and spaff a message after I come home later. How would I go about contacting spaff?2010-03-26 22:05:00

The level should come back, I think what may have happened is that so many people good griefed it that the moderation team took notice, they'll probably just look at it and see that nothing is wrong.2010-03-26 23:32:00

im really sorry to hear that steve, its just ridiculous seeing another good level go to waste. All the time, effort, hearts and plays down the drain. i would wait to see if the level does come back but in the meantime id contact someone about this situation...not fair.2010-03-26 23:38:00

Its a very well known and loved level, with any luck it'll go through the griefing system and emerge in a few weeks unscathed? But, yeh, I'd email Spaff, just incase that gets it back up quicker.2010-03-27 00:00:00

Ill email spaff when I get on my pc later. Ive sent cc a pm. The majority of levels obviously dont go through any checking system as my unofficial costumes hasnt come back after 4 months. Evidence suggests Little Dead Space came back due to being voted level of the year as it was moderated after other popular levels and therefore should have come back at a later date, as opposed to just after being titled level of the year. Oh and the other moderated levels still havent, and I doubt ever will come back. Obviously action needs to be taken to prompt them into bringing the levels back or nothing will ever change.2010-03-27 00:19:00

Noooooooooooo......
*I move my mouth away from the computer to take a breath*
...oooooooooooooo!

Whos willing to bet once I release part 3 of LBPG, it will get moderated due to the gruesome diffuctly of the asteroid belt?

Anyways, they better bring that fricking level back. Theres barely any great Mario levels out there.

its a shame that the community isnt mature enough to handle the freaking responsability that MM has granted us. its all these envious people. im 90% sure they arent all kids either, just immature people, who get jelous and angry when someone achieves something because of hard work. jut because you get 1 star on a level you put no effort into, and stevesy gets 5 doesnt mean you need to get reveng, you little immature jerk. i was ofcourse talking to an imaginary internet troll who is 35, fat as hell, and lives in his moms basement till 3 weeks after she dies.

sorry about that rant. i just hate the immature community. i love this community tho! we are all close and nice and cuddley. like sisters

There is no violence or bad language in your mario level.
So that leaves copyright..but like you said, if that's the case tons of levels would have to suffer the same fate.

It must be a pure numbers game.
More plays = more idiots = more chance of getting good griefed for no reason.

Does a "good grief" have the same weight in a popular level as it does in an unpopular one?
I hope not.

Hmmm, i want to test how it works because one of my levels was moderated and I still can't seem to figure it out. The Moderation system is no doubt faulty and needs to be fixed2010-03-28 17:30:00

One of my old levels got moderated, and I couldn't find the reason why.
It was a music level and I made the music my self, the moderation system needs to be fixed!

i think i might make a seperate account have a friend post a random level with random stuff that takes 5 minutes to make and try moderating it and see what happens then we will know for sure if it is broken2010-03-28 18:27:00

OK a test sounds good. Put tons of random non innapropiate maybe copyright stuff in the level, and all of us will good grief it three times.2010-03-28 19:20:00

Once again, the moderation system makes a huge mistake, and as sad as it sounds, this will probably continue to happen.

But always remember steve, they can take your levels, but they can never take all 60,000 of the author hearts that you have.

Not a good idea, because if you give a false moderation thingy I think u can get in trouble, the best thing to do I to have multiple people make fake accounts and someone makes a level on ther real account then the fake accounts moderate it

I have never good griefed once, I mean probably I should have at this stage given I have encountered some awful levels. But then that's never what I thought it was for, only if I see inappropriate content might I indulge but I haven't seen any yet. Having played some of your levels including this one I see no reason for them to be moderated whatsoever. If combined effort of a load of kids good griefing for the wrong reasons is enough to take down a level like this the system is unbelievably flawed. They win and it's not cool. It's also snowing again.. we're dooomed! Maybe they should make it effort to good grief, like a survey or something, stating why you are doing so. Because I can't imagine them putting anything other than "you suck" or something similar which instantly would be recognisable as a trashy good grief.2010-03-30 05:48:00
