Costume Editor Addition?

Archive: 11 posts

I am sorry if something similar to this has been posted before. I never saw it, so I'm mentioning it now.

I was just making a new costume and as usual it can be a frustrating process for anyone, especially when dealing with the head.

Then it occured to me . . . MM should consider adding better costume editing functions in a future update.

Right now all you can really do is switch to side view and back view.

But what if there was an editor? Much like a level editor.

Now you might think this would have 1 con to it, and that con would be what about all the people that made costume editing levels/rooms? Well when I say editor, I don't mean something that takes you to nother place like when you edit a level. I mean just the functions. So your surroundings would still be the same, like background, but you will be in a costume editor.

I mean like a list of costume editing functions in a new pop-it category.

Like the following . . .

-The ability to view your sack from any angle.
-A function similar to rewind that takes back last move made in case of a mistake.
-The ability to stop your sack's head in a certain position so it won't move. Like you can move it as usual, but then press the button to pause any sack movement.

And any other nice functions that might be added.

I believe this is a wonderful idea.

If this has been discussed before and a sacked idea, then I am sorry for bringing it up again.

If not, and if anyone finds this a great and helpful tool idea, then I believe we should bring this to MM's attention and request it. I'm sure this has been brought up before, but I never saw a thread about a costume editor. So any thoughts or opinions on this?

You can do this right now when making a costume in create mode.

@Reef1978:

In create mode you can't turn your sack, unless I missed something, which is why most create costumes outside of create mode.

@UltimateClay:

Last I checked the suggestions forum was for site suggestions, unless there are two suggestion forums. After my recent almost 3 month break away from LBPC I may have forgotten. All I remember is site suggestions. I'll have to check.

EDIT: Ok, yeah. I just checked. I must have forgotten. If a mod is reading this could you please move thread to Suggestions forum.

How? Was it added in an update? In create mode the buttons to turn rewind or fast forward instead of turning your sack. But in play mode these function to turn your sack.

So how do you turn in create? I'd really like to know. That'd be useful info. But even then a costume editor, or at least a function to stop your head from moving would be great.

The buttons you use to rewind are the d-pad buttons. These do emotions in play mode. There is no way to turn your sack in play mode, unless you are just walking sideways, in which case I'm not surprised you are struggling.

In create mode, if you go to place a sticker on your sack, wait until it zooms in and the sackboy will start moving less (including his head, but it will be at a fixed angle), you can then use shoulder buttons to get 90 degrees turns for better placement of stickers. Rewind also works as placing a sticker on a sack counts as a create action, if you like, so it is far, far easier to create costumes in create mode. Not quite as comprehensive as the suggestion in your OP but I think you'll find it a hell of a lot better than play mode

Wrong, you can turn your sack in both play mode and create mode.

Really, I'm sure I tried it once and it didn't work and I got annoyed... Hmmmmm

I'll edit the post above

edit: Yep, it's exactly the same in play as create, but you get the rewind in create mode. Don't know how I managed to screw that up before. Then again I don't really make costumes that often, why on earth would I need another one?
