Another New Material and Global Liquid: Lithium and Mercury

Archive: 9 posts

I'm on fire lately with ideas! So here it is, another new material and global liquid.

My last material idea thread was based on uranium and how it would behave in the game environment, this time I cam up with two more; lithium and mercury! Lets start with lithium.

PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES
__________________________________________________ ________________

Lithium would be described as a very light and reactive metal. In the game, it would be as light as wood but when lithium makes contact with water, it would start to burn! Complying with with its atomic properties, the life span in water would be only 15 seconds instead of 30 even with Scuba Gear. When making contact with fire, the lithium would begin to illuminate brightly, a Sackperson will not be affected by this.

APPEARANCE
__________________________________________________ ________________

The lithium metal has a grey metallic texture, especially in game (if approved and promoted).

USES
__________________________________________________ ________________

Uses for lithium? Just a very annoying material that could be used in obstacles prior to a certain sequence.

NOW FOR MERCURY!

PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES
__________________________________________________ ________________

Like water, mercury would be a global liquid, but fatal! Mercury is so dense it is able to support metal without it sinking below the liquid surface. It will be available as Global Mercury Object under the Special category in the Tools Bag. When you are in a body of mercury, you can flutter about upon the surface normally, but when under the surface you'll have 5 seconds to get out before death unless wearing Scuba Gear.

APPEARANCE
__________________________________________________ ________________

A dark-silvery liquid.

TWEAK
__________________________________________________ ________________

Everything that the Global Water Object has exept for colour and confetti.

USES
__________________________________________________ ________________

A dangerous, heavy supporting liquid. Got any more use ideas? Please reply!

EDIT: Science Pack!? Sounds like a good idea! It should contain my Lithium and Uranium materials, Global Mercury Object, and a Scientist Costume! This costume will consist of magniphied spectacles, white shaggy hair, lab coat, lab trousers, rubber boots, and lab-rat jumpsuit! Ehy, good idea?

Hmm, I'm not sure if the sackperson should be allowed in the Mercury at all, but I like the conecpt. Dense water.
I've liked the idea of honey, so maybe there should be a colour changer. Yellow Mercury = Honey.

Maybe all your elements should appear in a science pack. You get given a lab coat and safety glasses for costumes, maybe even a white lab rat costume. Some cool music, the background could be a science research facitily. Items could include Beakers, test tubes etc... and decorations could inlclude yellow sticker notes.

I can imagine this to be an awesome update! (It would be like the History or Monsters Pack).

I thought lithium had to make contact with sulfuric acid to burn not water, or am I thinking of something else.
Back on topic: I'm not so sure about the lithium but I think that mercury and Uranium would be cool, yeah I know uranium's in another thread but I'm lazy.

Amazing ideas, especially Lithium. We'd finally have a way to ignite things, and this could be implemented into water puzzles nicely. Science pack please!2010-03-29 07:52:00

Tweakable alkali metal material. That way you could have lithium, sodium, even francium if you want extremes! But yes a science pack would be very nice.2010-03-29 21:41:00
