For some weird reason/bug the forum don't allow me to open a new thread on level showcase(not here on "cool levels",i talk about the "normal" section),basically when i try to submit it the forum just redirect me on the main page :hero:

So i use this old thread to show my last level

was pretty good, me and a friend were confused on the hydra till i noticed i could hook them in XD so maybe a hint there but otherwise it was great, kinda short but you made very good use of the space.2010-03-26 05:44:00

I was able to successfully split these posts from your Vagrant Hero thread. If you need something like this in the future, let us know.

Think that i've understand that i was'nt bored of LBP,i was bored of "must" continue the VH series


So i doubt that the next is yet a Chapter2... possible but don't bet on it :hero:

Anyway i've yet many ideas about chapter2... but i've also an huge idea about another project:

After having played this and seen it first hand - I have to say that Zeus looks INCREDIBLE.

To have both the ability and creativity for constructing him that way - I'm floored once again. If I could double-heart you as a creator, I would.

Too generous as always

The fun thing is that other peoples ever seen your creations in a different way... for example for this i see all like a lot the graphic side,when i neither notice it, i've played too many times the level to "beta-test" it... but i ever like the new fight system,if you se me playing i'm a la Homer deh ih oh Simpson every time that i kill a skeleton enemy :hero:
Is not flashy as VH sword,but a lot more precise and important in the gameplay of the level

About VH the problem is that i've really MANY MANY ideas and not so much time... and "must" keep a continuity(with VH) kill a lil bit the fun

For this reason i don't know if next is the chapter2 of GOW


If we see the top secret files of Gek's Studios we have

-Lupin level/levels (my usual "series obsession," i've in mind at least 3 levels possible)

-A "Wizard" level. The idea is an huge (at least this with auto-conclusive story) level with platform/enemies/puzzle to pass using fire/water/thunder/wind/ice/earth magic spells

-an HUGE Sonic level based on Sonic adventure. <--- i dropped this idea because i've yet done a Sonic level,and because with the new pack are going to born 1000000 levels about this

-Some random ideas that born and die in a couple of hours,like:
a Discworld level
a The Story of Thor level(the idea of the Wizard level born here)
a RocketKnights/Sparkster level
a LOTR series (lol knowing me think how much this can destroy my free time)



And over all one day i want really do somenthig EPIC about this,and put in my best into it

I really enjoyed the level Gek, it looks fantastic and your talent for creating BIG characters shines through again. Zeus, Atlas and the Hydra are so majestic here, i loved them. The architecture is also really well done and authentic, and the little guys with the swords and spears work great. Are they little pistons firing the spears? I didn't know you could re-size a piston!

There's a few camera angles here and there that make the platforming a little tricky to navigate first time through. Loved the method of defeating the boss, one point worth mentioning is once you've trapped the first two heads, and attempt to get onto the third, if you die a lot,its a bit of a fiddle to get back up onto the column. All you want to do is get back straight into the action rather than platform your way back up again. Small points, but they might make a difference to the general flow of the level.

For the part in bold : maybe i can fix this adding a check point really high that get activated when you block the first two heads,and if die it you directly on the crushed column... thanks for the suggestion :hero:

Too many ideas, but not enough time... The drama of every LBP Creator!

The funny thing is that at the end i'm working on the only that i've dropped of the 50 ideas above,the sonic level...

I'm not doing a total new level but i'm re-working on my old green hill stage

Quick work btw,tomorrow i release it!

OK, finally got around to playing it, the visuals were probably my favorite part. The Zeus character blew my mind, superb use of decorations in my opinion. All the other characters were awesome too.

Just finished playing this... wow. Epic feel, some great gameplay... as well as beautiful scenery and decorating. I especially appreciated the enemies - I loved how you used the grab mechanic instead of bouncing on a brain - also, I loved their movements. Grabbing them felt really satisfying.

LOVED the final boss - Really creative.

5 stars and a heart.

Is more 1 and 1/2

The Sonic level restyling was a work on a couple of hours... now probably something more,because i've introduced many things that cause bugs to fix,but definitely not an huge work,also if i fel it as a totally new thing :hero:

Is my favourite additions too,really really glad that people love it!
At beginning it was supposed to use the chain swords with a mechanism similar to the Vagrant Hero sword,but even if was cooler visually,exactly like Vagrant Hero sword was'nt solid as gameplay... too much random or anyway not enough control... to not count many limitations...

The new system is definitely more solid and precise... you know,wait that the enemy open the guard (specially the sword skeletons) to jump and kill it with only precise attack is an huge part of the level gameplay,important as platforming and puzzles,not just here for visual reasons :hero:

Did i spot breasts on those harpie's?

Personally I didnt like the use of the pipe-deco as pillars,
I can understand why you did it, but I just couldnt see them as pillars.. just as pipes.
Also the intro killed me, adi and clara like 100 times (restarting 2 or 3 times) before it worked and we where able to proceed.
(good for play-stacking lol)

Overall the level feels really chaotic, there are no real focal points..
Its hard to explain..
Oh wait I am a photographer as well.. I can explain this quite easy..

What your level is lacking, and I hope you wont get angry for me saying,
Is composition, something to calm the eyes.
When looking at the photo's you will notice that your eyes will automatically see certain things first.
In most cases, that will be the bridge, the light around the walking person, another bridge and the white pyramid.
Now lets take the white pyramid one as an example.

the first thing your eyes will notice is the white pyramid, it is the eye catcher.. the attention demander so to speak.
All the lines around it will guide your eyes towards the right edge of the photo.

If we take the first bridge photo, your eyes will probably follow the big heavy metal wires all the way out of the photo before you actually take a good look at the road and sky.

In your level it was hard for the eyes to find vocalpoints, something that calms the eye and guides him trough the visuals of your level.
It was in my humble opinion very chaotic.
Also if you look at almost any scene in GoW3 you will notice the vocal points and how lines move towards or away from it.

Because of this, I couldnt really get into the level,
And I honestly think you should study compostions and look more at how lines flow in film/photo's.

as its now 4 am, I hope you can appreciate the efford I put into this..
And I most certainly hope I did not offend you in any way.

Absolutely not,any suggestion is ever welcome!

Next time i will remind this,like all other suggestion/ideas... is the only way to improve



ps: if you retry it,try alone,the entire level is thinked for single player,in 2-3-4 it lost a lot visually

I add here,without open a new thread:

For who liked my Sonic level, i've totally re-done it.... new additions:

-graphic changed (a lot,many changes,many additions)

-a new mechanic that give speed to your SackSonic!

-new little areas where is possible increase the score

-Boss battle totally changed

-Fish now is killable and a lot better looking

-crab now can be killed also with a jump from the ground

-bumpers now work better

-prizes! (5 Sonic stickers)
