Downloading content...

Hi all...

I do not have my PS3 hooked up to the internet. Can I download extra content to my PC, then install it via a flash drive or something?

Nope, you cant download them on PC, but I believe US players can get DLC codes from amazon.com (not sure how this works, though)2010-03-26 08:18:00

DLC codes would still require a connection to the internet. In order to get DLC on your system you're going to have to connect the PS3 up to the interenet somehow.2010-03-26 17:51:00

What internet are you using to post on here then? Because unless you're using a public buildings internet there will be a way to use that on your PS3.2010-03-26 18:55:00

Seriously, you need broadband.

Having not connected your PS3 to the internet, you for one don't have the current PS3 firmware I doubt. You also don't have the updates to LBP either, which are needed to use the DLC.

Even if there was a way to use the PS3 on a dial up connection, the updates alone would take hours, even days to download on a dial-up connection considering the total of the updates exceeds 800mb. (Again, the only way to get those updates are through the PS3 itself).

Oh, and FYI, to only way to access the PS3 store, is through the PS3 itself.

Wait I just realised... you don't have the updates? That's actually dangerous, what if you happen to run into a wheel spinning really fast? Then you'll be sorry...2010-03-26 20:07:00

Well it's a new copy of the game (only a week or so old), so I assume it's a somewhat recent version. Plus it's the GOTY edition, as opposed to the standard one...2010-03-26 20:24:00

True, but I don't think anyone knows exactly what the latest patch would be on there.

But considering that the latest DLC that were included would be the History kit, you be looking around patch 1.16/1.17 I think.
