These stars certainly arent shining

I seem to have come across a rather curious bug if thats what you could call it or it could just be me being awake at stupid o'clock, i know how to embed things on lbp as ive done it many a time but my problem is i have made some collectable grabbable stars for an upcoming series of levels and i wanted to hide 1 in a mushroom cut out very much like the ones from the story, ive done this trick with a prize bubble previously, so i went to edit it take the prize bubble out and replace that with the star now the sound that says you cant do something didnt sound and if i try to put the star sort of hanging out of what i want it placed in then part of it shows the other bit is gone its a curious problem and i am stumped, anybody care to help me out on this one also any additional info just ask thanks 2010-03-22 05:15:00

Are you trying to embed it in the story object?
If so then that's the problem because you can't edit the ingame prizes...

They need to be different materials to embed into each other. You can change them back to the same after you have embedded it.2010-03-23 00:47:00

make the star a tin bit bigger, cut into themushroom, then make the star its origional size and place it in the mushroom, then shrink the mushroom around the star.2010-03-23 10:15:00

I've been doing quite a few experiments lately trying to figure out what things make objects uneditable and materials unsmearable, and how to make them editable and/or smearable again.

Sometimes you'll get the "material cutting" noise even though it doesn't actually cut. This usually means you also won't be able to use the corner editor on it either.

Assuming you originally created the two objects you wish to merge, it should be possible, but it might be non-trivial.

If you can't cut into your object, you might be able to use it to cut into another object, and use that as a stencil to create a new copy.

Would help if you were more specific about the objects you're having problems with.

I also found some rather odd behaviour with captured emitted obects. If you capture two objects together (not glued), emit them with infinite lifetime, then attempt to capture just one of the two, not only will the captured object contain both objects, but when you try to place it, the non-captured one will be placed into the level even before you press X to place the captured one.

Dude... not to be a PITA, but your OP is almost unreadable. Punctuation is your friend! Do your period and shift keys just not work?

As to your problem, is any part of it blinking? I though maybe it was one of these blended material glitches that sometimes show up, especially if the objects are small. Any chance of a picture?
