Activating checkpoints by switch?

I just today realized you could activate checkpoints by switch. Has this always been there or was it added recently? Because I remember being curious when checkpoints would activate themselves in the POTC levels.2010-03-22 00:01:00

It was added in Leerdammer on November 30, 2009.

Checkpoints can be activated by switches!?!?!
How come I never know about these things untill something like this comes along? oh well, at least I know now. So this must be how those teleporters work.

Haha, yeah, it was leerdammer. My teleporter works by activated a checkpoint in a non working copy of the machine, and then gassing sackboy and destroying the first one 2010-03-22 08:22:00

yes its leerdammer.(mmmm cheeessee) Its been extreme usefull for teleporting if you have the mgs pack u can use the spotlight as the switch.2010-03-22 08:59:00

Yup. Shame you still have to kill sackboy for teleporters.

But if you kill sacky by making him walk into a static plasma ball, the effect looks just like he's being teleported. Much better than any other method. Even the sound effect fits the teleporter style.

Been working for ages on my teleporter and I didn't think of that. Going to have to try it...

Another neat teleporter trick is to create a large flat coloured light, then stick the "Time Warp" sound effect on it (set to invisible and play on destruction). When the teleporter is activated set the light to emit behind sackboy every 0.1 seconds for a set number of times (around at least 10 to 20 times). Then when sacky is killed, the light flashes (giving a cool flashing/smokey/noisy effect) and the warp sound effect plays and this does a good job of masking the death sound. Good point. But not being able to ace a level doesn't really matter though does it?

Acing the level doesn't really matter, it's just the possibility to ace that you need.
Acing levels has been a staple in gaming. I remember in Crash Bandicoot, (or older games where you HAD to ace), it adds fun and gloating rights.
Also, why bother collecting bubbles when you know your going to die?

Precisely why I dont bother collecting point bubbles anymore. I only go for them when playing with friends competitively.
