The newest episode of our Community Spotlight has arrived! For those of you who are out of the loop, our Community Spotlight is a bimonthly collection of our favorite levels for both PS3 and PSP posted by our members. All of these levels have been added to our site within the last 2 weeks, so you're getting a taste of some of the latest and greatest we have to offer.

Note: The spotlight crew would like to thank GrantosUK for his hard work and dedication through 25 spotlights as he leaves the crew! A year's worth of commitment is no small thing and we appreciate all he's done. Our loss is LBPs gain though as he'll have more time to create! Thanks for everything Grant, you'll be missed.

PS3 Spotlight
Interstellar Infiltrationcomphermc/comphermc
http://img641.imageshack.us/img641/7564/picture15z.pngAnd so, Sackboy was able to board the USS-CMP undetected. Would he be able to complete his formidable task?

Comphermc has managed to stun me with this awesome level. The sticker use and details alone are impressive but throw in his immaculate building techniques, complex machinery, logic mastery, beautifully done lighting and some of the most clever dialogue in service of a great story and you have one of the top levels ever made for LBP. Fiendishly clever hidden secret areas and that wow factor only certain levels can generate will have you coming back again and again to marvel at the details and geometry. I can't recommend this one highly enough. A seriously amazing level from one of the top creators working in LBP today! What do you get when you put together innovative gameplay, second-to-none visuals, hilarious banter, and logic that melts your brain? Comphermc. This is my personal favorite out of Comph's levels, and at the moment is easily one of the best levels in LBP. Comph always seems to be able to stretch the boundaries of what creators can do in LBP, and this level will have at least a few moments that will leave you thinking, “How in the world did he do that?!” Simply put, you need to play this... now!Just when you think you've seen 'another space level', a great creator comes along and reminds you why this genre can be so much fun. The detail on the spaceship is incredible. The shapes, objects, puzzles and level design are very original - but still feels intuitive and easy to follow. Comph continues to raise the bar in terms of logical and visual development. This level is simply unmissable. Welcome aboard a well designed, beautifully crafted spaceship, straight from the mind of Comphermc! Just from the name of the creator you can tell you’re going to be running, swinging and jumping your way through some amazing visuals, and this time it’s even cleaner and more beautiful than ever before. As you wander the halls and corridors, you’ll also be treated to some excellent comedy and find some nice puzzles too. The Forbidden Land: The Nostalgia of the Infinitejump_button/jump_button
http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/2596/aphoto1k.jpgSecond of a team ico level Inspired levels as well as the style and feeling of the games with my own. As with the first it puzzles but this time they are colossus's around can you pass the the forbidden land alive?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lioZ3g3usig

The character design is so cool in this level! I love the bosses and the tiny, but powerful helper that gives you clues to some really clever and challenging puzzles. Pay attention to the custom stickers as well because they not only look great, they also have many inside joke references to LBP and jump_button's other levels. Very clever and clearly lovely it's a great sequel to the first Ico inspired level of the series. Bring your brain with you or you may not be able to make it through these thinker style puzzles. This level has a very mysterious feel to it. I love the puzzle elements throughout, and different uses of the torch was brilliant. You may have to actually turn your brain on for this one, but jump_button will reward you well in the end with a colossal surprise.Work your way through this forbidden land and marvel at how both pretty and clever it is. With a lovely slow paced feel, this is most definitely a thinking level. The two colossus are very impressive and require a bit of planning to defeat. The weightless candles also make a welcome return! Prepare to take your time and enjoy the rewards. Puzzling gameplay has never looked as good as it does in the second Nostalgia of the Infinite level from jump_button. The quality character design carries over from the first level and this time the visuals have been taken to another extraordinary height. Another quality jump_button level for you all to check out. The Odyssey: Part 1 - The Sacking of TroyDuffluc/Duffluc
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d43/duffluc/APhoto_23-1.jpg
The Trojan War has begun! It is your job to infiltrate the city of Troy and cripple its defenses, leaving it open for attack. Honor and glory await, so what are you waiting for? Get to it!

I love levels that have great architecture and historically accurate details and this level has both in abundance! Really cool battering ram section, a wooden horse and one of the coolest boss fights I've seen make it a joy to play too. Clever use of decorations to add some real polish to railings and decorative borders were a classy touch to already well made rooms. So should you beware creators bearing trojan themed levels? Nah - this one is great! The battle seems lost, but the general has one more trick up his sleeve.. a big, wooden horse. We all know how this story plays out, but what you might not know is how well Duffluc was able to implement it into one of his latest creations. This level has some awesome visuals, hilarious dialogue, and a boss that will require you to have an IQ score a bit higher than his own.Set in a city with superb architecture, clever use of decorations really give this level a feeling of depth without overwhelming you with that ‘3D glitch feel’ This is a well structured story which manages to create a good, old fashioned, paintinator free battlefield. Be warned though, these Trojans are tough!A big wooden horse!? Ludicrous you may say, but it’s the only means of taking Troy now in this amazing, cinematic level from Duffluc. A beautifully crafted wooden horse, an angry archer and a failed siege attempt are all present and excellent fun in this level. Just watch out for that boss, he’s got quite an aim!El Guero's Unhindered Ballad of AccelerationElguerogigante/Elguerogigante
http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz63/xiv_mofo/APhoto_1-3.jpgScamper through this dilly of a pickle. Test your might and discover the untold secrets of the Unhindered Ballad of Acceleration!

Firey and fast are words that come to mind when playing this level. Things move pretty quickly and sackboy had better keep up to avoid falling into a firey end. Cool platforming and plenty of hard to get to secrets keep the replay value high on this one. Cool geometry and bright sticker work combined with well placed lighting make it pretty but can you make it through collapsing platforms, being flung off mine carts and past a boss that's full of explosive action?I’m not sure what ‘dilly of a pickle’ means, but if this level is a good representation of that phrase, then I like it! It’s a fast paced romp through some firey canyons that will have you trying for the high score with all the point bubble combos. It also features plenty of secret areas to ‘spelunk’, which equals a high replay value for the explorer enthusiast. There is never a quiet moment in this latest offering from Elguerogigante, so don't be decieved by the 'ballad' in the title. This level will have you jumping on moving platforms, chasing minetrains and swinging over firey pits all at breakneck speed, and if that isn't enough to excite you, then just wait until you meet the boss...In the true style of this level, I’m going to make this comment fast paced and frenzied. Fun, excellent gameplay that’ll leave your fingers with cramp and your brain feel numb. Think fast, play hard – and have fun!Beyond Good and EvilSiege299792/Siege299792http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/9mfp-1w.jpgAn old dream of mankind has come true: You are able to create the good and the evil!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsrVohf0uNI

Siege challenges the player to trust themselves as they choose a path between good and evil. This might be the first time where I felt a level was struggling against itself, and the player helps it along with each decision. Much can be said for the connotations of this level, but I’ll leave that up to you for your own interpretation. Allusions aside, this level packs some cool platforming, well thought out one and two player puzzles, and visuals that will keep your eyes wide open. The only question that’s left is which will you choose? Good or evil?Warm stone and metal make this level feel very friendly at first but depending on your choices you may have more heat than you know what to do with. The choices you make, make the level evolve before your eyes from fire and darkness to lights and floral spendor. Choose wisely and you may make it to the scoreboard. InfernoSiege299792/Siege299792http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/9mfp-33.jpgAre you ready for an underground flame inferno?http://www.youtube.com/user/siege299792#p/u/0/cWOcJfrAVsI

Siege lights up the screen with this one! It’s a well balanced level with interesting platforming, puzzles, secrets, unique machinery and a few surprises that will have you running for your life. The design is simply brilliant. There are plenty of ‘wow’ moments that will force you to just stop and look around at all the moving parts. So don’t forget your safety goggles because this is definitely not your typical visit to an underground volcanic research laboratory!Awesome camera usage, lighting and special effects and perfect scale make this a fantastic level to check out. I loved all the fire effects and brilliant orange glow from cracks in the rocks and from the lava erupting up. Hard to focus on the platforming, which there is a lot of when the landscape looks so nice. Once you reach the scoreboard you'll not only be blinded by an awesome lighting effect but by this levels sheer length and awesomeness! This level has a red hot combination of fire and fun! Clarie actually joined us in mid-level because she thought this level looked so good. Seige has got that perfect balance of gameplay and visuals. Sometimes you have to survive evil platforms, sometimes you hunt for secrets, sometimes you simply admire the view. There is something for everyone in this explosive treat! SD Gundam - Zaku Assault (Intense Arcade Shooter Action!)Gevurah22/Donkey Showhttp://www.daviddino.com/lbpzakuassault04.jpgAre you a bad enough dude to pilot the fabled Zaku II S into a storm of Federation Mobile Suits and become the Red Comet? SD Gundam – Zaku Assault will pop you into Char Aznable’s mask and allow you to show those Feddies why they call you “the Red Comet!” of LittleBigPlanet!http://www.youtube.com/user/gevurah22#p/a/u/0/tl116DMrHBU

If you’re not familiar with Gundam, don’t worry! This level is a blast to play. Donkey Show equips the player with a unique gameplay element with his new mech suit, the Zaku II S. You can immediately turn around by simply pressing the circle button. Don’t ask me how he did it, because I honestly don’t know. There are multiple features to this level which include a system that allows you to replenish your health, a missile detection system that alerts you when you're being targeted, and a ranking system that determines how well you played. Newcomers should pay attention to the tutorial because the Zaku suit has a few different features that will help you along the way. Be prepared for multiple plays as this level is very addictive!Control when making a technical level like this one is usually the weakest link in the level design but somehow Donkey Show has managed to create an incredibly responsive and fast system to take his Zaku II S into battle. It has intense battles that will have even practiced players scrambling with the controller to keep out of harms way while multi colored plasma races towards you. Great use of the 3D/bakscratch glitch give the space setting depth as well. Very addicting and challenging in equal measure!Well what can we say, nothing proper from donkey_show in a year or so and then he brings out two high quality levels within weeks of each other! Nothing quite appeals as much as getting in a mech and blasting down a spaceship – and this level represents in brilliantly. With one of the best working mechs around, donkey_show was always on to a winner with this one. (lbw3) malibu water sportsfenderjt/fenderjt
http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=14072&d=1268742741Malibu is based on an exotic beach with sport activities. This level is not just any old sports level...it has a twist to it. I don't want to give away to much but lets just say the sport activities are not like they should be...

If you are getting tired of the winter blues, then head over to Malibu for some summer fun and games. Great fun to play with a sackfriend, these games are an intriguing mix of traditional and unique. Look out especially for the springiest hurdle race ever encountered, and a very interesting take on the pole vault. A welcome spot of sunshine on a grey March afternoon.Who would have thought water volleyball would be so much fun in LBP? Apparently Fenderjt did, and let me tell you, it's crazy fun with a few of your pals! The only thing I can really add to what Adi and Clarie already said is that once you play it, you'll probably be coming back for more as it is very addicting! When you are looking for a fun level that you can play with friends load this one up. Its super bright and cheery and has some of fenderjt's patented sense of humor in the dialogue. It's just the thing to make you and your friends smile and bring out your inner competitors. Volleyball, water ski-ing, long jump!? Fender brings us them all and a whole host of other fun, addictive little events that’ll leave you coming back for more doses of this Malibu level!
Sky FactorySteveBigGuns/steve_big_gunshttp://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=14141&d=1268875855Visit the Sky Factory to see your grandad at work. Just don`t go wondering off now.

Sky Factory is an outstandingly cute level from start to finish. It contains all kinds of nice creator touches which really make the level an immersive experience. The story is endearing, and although the platforming can be tricky in places you’ll be having so much fun you won’t even notice. Visiting grandpa's house has never been so much fun! I doubt that you will be a good sack and listen to him when he tells you to stay put, because being bad has never been so good. Ignoring his instructions, you'll quickly find yourself jumping into pipes and bursting out the other side. Wacky machinery, clever platforming, and visuals that will take your eyes off of your sack person await you in this masterpiece.Jumping, sliding and swinging your way through this beautiful level is a real treat. Great details and use of decorations, Steve has managed to create another immersive and rich experience in his latest level. Great lighting and one of the prettiest sunset effects I've ever seen in a level made it visually memorable for me but the gameplay is what made me love it. Great fun to play! From the beginning to the end of this visit to Grant’s (ahem, I mean Grandpa’s) sky factory you’ll be enticed and entertained by pipes, jumping obstacles and point collecting combos! Some amazingly cute visuals, an excellent old man (Grant again perhaps?) and even a bit of humour are all created for you by the ingenious mind of Steve_big_guns. Not one to miss out on. Final Fantasy VI: The Blackjack's Shining BattleHenshin1/Henshin1http://i629.photobucket.com/albums/uu15/Morgana25_photos/APhoto_137.jpgBattle the evil Kefka's imperial army on the deck of the greatest airship on the planet. Use magicite to summon espers and deal heavy damage!http://www.youtube.com/user/littlebigland2009#p/a/u/0/6rXVbVCBNo8

Final Fantasy fans should not miss this one! This level features custom FFVI music, battles on a big airship, characters that are true to the originals, and relentless enemies that are bent on destroying you and your party. The visuals are done in a way that it really feels like an updated battle from FFVI. The best part is that it’s not just another ‘point and shoot’ level. Be sure to use your Magicite so that you can summon Espers (i.e. powerful allies that will give you the advantage). Even if you don’t like Final Fantasy, the challenge in this one will have you coming back for more!Fans of the Final Fantasy VI game will feel right at home in this level. From an impressive opening title sequence to the fierce paintinator battle it's got the style of FF nailed. The limit break characters and special effects are cool and really add the wow factor to this one. Cute pixellated character too is a nice nod to the original it's based on. Play it with friends, your going to need the help to survive!

PSP Spotlight

Timber CanyonVelcroJonze/VelcroJonzehttp://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac207/tross13/Timber_Canyon.jpgIsn't it good Norwegian wood? This platformer contains some minor puzzle elements and was made with nothing but wood materials.

Back when I was your age, video games were made out of wood. Oh, wait - apparently they still are. This completely wood-based creation features VelcroJonze's signature springy, flowing gameplay that will keep you entertained from start to finish and will leave you with a big smile on your face. This totally out of the (wooden) box level has no story, no stickers, and is guaranteed to stay on your PSP for quite a while. When push comes to shove and you’re loving it, then you must be playing this flingy level by VelcroJonze. Whether it’s the unique gameplay elements engraved in the scenery or the carved wooden landscape chiseled to perfection, this platformer goes against the grain of the mundane. Smoothed with streamlined obstacles, stained with rich wood tones, and lacquered with point bubbles, this wooden level begs to be put to good use.Wooden levels are a rarity on LBP PSP, but this level shows that they can be appealing, entertaining and beautiful all at once. Some great gameplay, lots of swingy things and classic platforming pave the way for this excellent level. You’ll constantly be wondering how the creator has only used two layers – but you won’t have time to work it out as you’ll be too busy having fun. A truly epic level.Stylish and cleanly designed, this wooden wonderland is a joy to behold as you get flung all over your screen. Just the right amount of challenge and length make it a great level to sneak in when your on the go. I thoroughly enjoyed playing this one!Visiting The CanyonsSpark151/Spark151http://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac207/tross13/Visiting_the_Canyons.jpgRemember The Canyons levels from LittleBigPlanet PS3? Well now you get to play them on the PSP. Everything from Bombs to Serpents.

Spark151 continues an incredible string of epic levels with this nostalgic tour pulled seemingly straight out of a PS3. Not satisfied with simply recreating a single level, Spark151 decided to take all the best parts from the entire series of The Canyons levels, smash them all together, and make them all fit inside a PSP. Hop over spiky cacti, go for a ride in a mine cart, and dodge giant fiery snakes... but be careful with those impact bombs!I didn't think the PSP could handle some of the MM designed obstacles from story mode but Spark151 has proven that not only can it be done, it can be done very well. The level has many areas that feel like they could be directly from the PS3 version of The Canyons plus original designs and challenges as well. Very fun to play if you're a fan of the PS3 story levels. What do you get when you squeeze volatile bombs with speedy mine carts and a serpentine labyrinth into one level? The Boom Town Serpent Shrine Mines! I mean, you get this “best of all worlds” creation by Spark151. Arrive in style on the heart-shaped carriage of Frida the Bride before dodging fireballs, blowing up obstructions, and avoiding the embers of gigantic snakes. This level not only relives the magical moments of the PS3 Canyon levels, but also reinvents them.Spark151 shows us all how it should be done on PSP – the Mm way! Take a pinch of all the different canyons levels and a huge dollop of innovative, fun gameplay and you have yourself a recipe for success. And this level is just that – a complete success in every way. One of the most Mm-like levels on the PSP, don’t miss it!

Also, it's sad to see Grant step down from his position, but I hope to see him about in other places. Now, finish those 3 levels you are working on!!

Yeah definitely a big thanks to Grant for all his hard work!

Great work as always guys!

Isn't it annoying how the mods always get their levels spotlighted! MrSC last time with his not at all epicly awesome sequel and now Comph with whatever you want to call his monstrosity! Do they threaten to lock the thread if they aren't put in? I bet they do! Little rascals!

Comphermc work is a real masterpiece, and what impresses me the most is how he can always change themes and being always interesting in whatever he does.
Level by level is becoming the paradygm of the community.

Thanks for all the comments, I had immense fun doing the spotlight in the year I was doing it. Working with all the members that have come and gone over my reign has been a pleasure. And I've played some truly outstanding levels by the community in that time to.

But all good things must come to an end at some point, and I'm concentrating on create mode now, and can play the levels without having a critical eye open at all times

Thanks everyone

Congrats to all the creators, and thanks to the spotlight team! Hopefully I'll be getting here within a month or two, but who knows?

BTW, I love how everyone is making it seem as if Grant is leaving to go to war or something. We'll miss you! Come back safe!

I am going to war, I have to spend more time with the wife, talking to her and playing
rockband now instead of using the spotlight as an excuse. You've obviously never heard her sing vocals

Congratulations to all the spotlighted creators. Another awesome list of levels ? some new all time favourite levels on there for sure.

Thanks to the Spotlight team again for all their efforts and a special thanks to Grant for putting so much hard work into this for so long. Enjoy your retirement ? I hope they remembered to give you the gold carriage clock on your way out...

people must get the impression I'm sone balding drunken lunatic In fairness, we know you aren't always drinking. Sometimes there is a cig blocking your mouth

You've obviously never heard her sing vocals I have heard her telling you off in the background though

You don't need to make it into the "cool levels" forum to get a spotlight. Plenty of non-"cool levels" have been spotlighted in the past

* I just realised how that's gonna sound to the americans! Hahahaha

What was moderated, I hope it had something to do with nicotine

And I get told off all the time, she's a teacher, and I act like a child at times, so thats a given

Congrats to the creators! The ones I had the pleasure of playing were quite amazing and most worthy of Spotlight honors! Awesome work! The rest I need to get busy and catch up with!! Yikes! I am way behind, but wow.. some really great levels to look forward to!

Also thanks to the amazing spotlight team who week after week stay hard at it to bring us this list. Your efforts are amazing and so appreciated by so many here on LBPC. Thanks so much!!!

To my good buddy Grant, thanks so much for all your work this past year on the team. Always enjoyed reading your comments. Your contributions will be missed, but hopefully you will get a bit more time for creating!!

Wow, that spiraled off-topic there for a bit. I am going to edit in place of the censored word "cig". As in cigarette. As it is now, it's even more suggestive (and not so friendly).
