*<ATTENTION ALL TROLLS BEFORE I SAY WHAT I AM GOING TO SAY, I GOT SOMETHING TO TELL YOU.> <STOP WITH THE NOOBISH, POOISH, RANTS AND COMMENTS OR I WILL BLOW YOUR HEAD OF WITH A LBP BAZOOKA:kz: AND RUN YOUR TROLL BODIES OVER WITH A POORLY MADE TANK WITHOUT TREADS!!!!> <THAT IS ALL>*

^LOL I can't believe i wrote that^. Well I just joined LBP Central after playing taffey's levels on psp, which are:star:EFFIN AWESOME:star:, I got interested in making something drastic. So, I went cruising around in LBPC looking ideas, advice, tips, hints, glitches, costumes(LOL), story, and other random stuff. When I stated to look around in side the logic pack, I was amazed with all the things you could do(DON'T SAY ANYTHING TROLLS!!!). So now I am working on my first advance level with logic. So now, I ask the diverse population of LBPC to give me ideas, advice, tips, suggestions, ideas for the name of the level, and to get rid of EFFIN TROLLS!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks from the LBP noob,
TiharO

P.S.: I kid the trolls who think they aren't trolls
P.S.S:I think this is the longest passage I have ever wrote on thee interwebs EVAR ^^!!!

Well, to get rid of those trolls, you have to count to 10 with your eyes open.

Now, umm, well....
Ideas.... well, I'm working on a level right now and ideas are pretty hard to come up with.
But, I think the level will need awesome puzzles!
I'm not sure how to help you there, but working with switches will help a lot! : Good luck!

Hey TihaO!

Well first of all, thanks for the compliment! I'm glad you enjoyed my levels and I'm happy they helped you find your way here.

As for the *attention all trolls* bit... The good news is that there really aren't any trolls around here. This isn't like those other message boards you may have been on. Everyone around here is very cool and helpful, so you really don't have much to worry about flame-wise. Besides, any trolls discovered on LBPC are immediately thrown into a holding cell half-filled with dirty gym socks and wallpapered with David Hasselhoff posters, and they are forced to tabulate income tax paperwork while being peppered with used chewing gum.

Now, as for your level, I say you should start off simple. Focus on creating some fun, basic platforming, but don't forget the sounds and visuals too. Go for quality not quantity, and don't be afraid to ask questions.

Oh, and back up your levels (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=23990-The-corrupt-%2Alevel%2A-thread-%28Copy-your-creations-and-don-t-lose-your-work%21%29)! And your profile (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=19461-The-corrupt-profile-thread-%28Back-up-your-data-NOW%21%29)! You'll be glad you did. (If you don't run backups I've heard the Boogey Man will cover your head with yogurt and draw on your face with a marker while you sleep.)

I ditto what Taffey said, and that means a lot since he accidentally locked me in the troll closet once.

Don't go crazy with tech just for the sake of going crazy with tech! Come up with ideas for your level, and if that requires some tricky stuff, then try to figure out how to do it. I never go into a level simply to make it has technically confusing as possible. In fact, many times I don't expect the level to be tricky at all, but there are always a few things (and often many things) that ind up requiring complex tech.

I think that when people plan levels out, just about everyone has ideas that require a lot of tech. The thing that can distinguish one author from another is based on who is willing to put the time into figuring out how to design the tech. Obviously, that is not the only thing that distinguishes authors (JackofCourse uses almost no complex tech, and his levels are some of the very best), but it is something that does stand out.

Haha i lol'd pretty hard at the ATTENTION ALL TROLLS bit because I'm relatively new to LBPC and the first thing i thought was "i hope there aren't any trolls" lol. Well i just recently finished publishing my first level and i was actually quite pleased with it because i've basically figured out how to do a lot of things now i would like to know if this is your 1st level that your trying to get ideas for. I would recommend that you try to get the feel of LBP and then just sit around and think of great ideas (if you can't think of anything it is a good think super Sack ball is copyable. im just kidding!. also i agree with everyone about not using too much tech, if you really want maybe you could just do a really interesting platforming level and nothing too complex. just remember to make it fun!2010-03-21 07:05:00
