Inoperative Scoreboards

Archive: 16 posts

I've played a couple of levels recently in which sacky runs right in front of a live scoreboard (showing scores) without activating it.
Anyone know how this is achieved?

Invisible barrier in the way? Would that work? You could even go as far as using invisible theck (ugh) layer material, if that's possible to make.2010-03-20 14:33:00

I tried using an invisible barrier but as soon as you walk in front of the scoreboard it activates, irrespective of what's between you and the scoreboard.
I'm guessing it's some sort of glitched scoreboard.

If you have a thin material on the second thin layer (counting from the front) than you can walk over scoreboard without activating it.2010-03-20 15:38:00

There are also some scoreboards floating around that are truely "inactive" so to speak and need no extra objects to stop it working...message me for details! 2010-03-20 20:34:00

I got it from a Japanese level a looong time ago. It has no base and the light at the top isn't lit up...2010-03-21 01:53:00

Isn't that the fake scoreboard from that one weapon factory level?

I'm not sure...does it show scores? Or is it completely handmade?2010-03-21 11:16:00

I remember playing some Japanese weapon factory level that included a scene where you run onto a fake scoreboard, the player would think the level was over, but you actually fall into a pit, where then a giant machine chases you.

If a fake scoreboard is needed, you can go play that level or get one from the level I made, it's called Fake Items.

Another alternative is to change the scoreboard's base to dissolve material, and dissolve it, and then move the scoreboard to the front thin layer where the player can't go in front of it.2010-03-22 18:34:00
