Red Eagle 1: The Heroharedriel
In a time before the Logic pack...
Journey into the desert to solve puzzles, platform some platforming and take part in furious paintinator battles. All to stop an evil genius who has something evil on his mind and a fortress guarded with many sentry turrets and devious traps.
Hello. This is a level I made over an year ago. I'm still pretty proud of it, as some of the ideas ideas implemented in it are still fresh and original. Plus, it has two bosses whereas most levels have none.

I had no creator pack, or logic pack at my disposal when I made this level (though in a major update last February I added global lighting tools and hid some of the pistons)

I am willing to F4F anyone who posts here.

I really liked the way this level presents itself. Like you said, it's cool to have 2 bosses in a level and they don't feel to forced in as well.

Some things like glass as background is maybe better avoided but overall visually its more than ok.

Gameplay wise was it's strongest point in my opinion. Although I did die a lot because of the turrets, I managed to make progress through the level and enjoyed it.

Please provide f4f on my level: a sackmare on elmstreet 2010 (see showcase topic)

thanks !

I played this level already before you posted it in the level showcase and I played the second installment. The bosses and enemies are fun to beat and the puzzles [including the glass maze] are fun. And what a brilliant way to use the radio at the beginning of the level [even though I have no idea what to do with at first until I disabled the jammer.]. Good level.2010-03-21 20:10:00

This is a really cool level, and your final boss rocks! I was surprised to find that I'd never completed this level before, but I'm definitely impressed.
Three things I made note of:
1) You're first-ish puzzle says red emits an impact explosive and blue emits a trigger explosive, where in the puzzle, red = trigger and blue = impact. Just flip the colors on the LEDs, though, and you're all right.
2) This is completely at the discretion of the creator, but even though I typically play alone, the completionist in me loves checking out the 2-player areas to see all the work put into the level. Needing two players to progress to the area is completely understandable, however.
3) Cutscene text in the middle of the final boss battle almost made me cry. I nearly had the ace, only to have it torn from my grasp by cutscene text when the boss changed forms.

Really cool level, though. I'm about to play the sequel.
(btw, if I can manage to ace this level, I'm totally gunning for your score, assuming it's possible to beat it. I'm currently #3, and I'm not about to settle for 3rd place.)

^^
Thanks a lot for the doubl-ish post!
1. Ooooops! I have no idea how that went in there!
2.The 2x area was special when this level was published(around feb 09) but nowadays I've seen way too many 2x sections with this mechanic. And it's only a VR texture so not really the coolest thing you'll find on earth.
3.There should not be a cutscene text there. Or are you referring to the one that's supposed to occur when you haven't jumped down to the boss are yet?

My score should be beatable, since I generally suck at comboing those half-gravity are bubbles. I have an ace on this level, and it's pretty hard to get. (Even when I made it)
But if you want a REAL challenge, try acing part 2! It's about three times as long as this and the bosses are really tough to get through without dying, too!
