Weird emitter in Mm vehicle.

Archive: 31 posts

The other day i was just messing around placing Mm objects, editing, and destroying them.
But while i was messing around with one of the vehicles, i saw that its emitter had an emitting speed of infinity, while we can only select to emit objects every 0.1s the least.
Here's the object.

Check the emitter in the cannon and you'll see what i'm talking about.

Yeah, I remember finding this before, it's interesting, but I don't know what it could be used for.2010-03-19 02:06:00

Very strange. How fast IS infinity anyways?2010-03-19 03:18:00

seriously? MM have quite a few LBP-logic defying things. such as white LEDs that emit red light.2010-03-19 08:58:00

Wow cool find.
Btw I was told that if you graph tan it goes to infinity does a U turn and comes back down, now dosen't that just hurt your head. I mean, how can something reach something that is unreachable!?!

Ugh....i dont like math it hurts my wittle head lol, but ya koo find can't you edit it and make it emit something else?2010-03-20 07:58:00

I also noticed in their mechanical walking elephant, they have 3 magnet switches all connecting to a single sound object. That's messed up yo

(If we could do stuff like that in create things would be much much easier T__T)

hmm, I'll have to take a look at that one. Seems like it could be useful.
What is the grab controlling the emitter set to? I presume one shot, try setting it to on/off and see what happens .

I did, it won't work, it appears its only useful for instant 1-shots, in other words, 1-shots faster than 0.1 per second.

it could be used to make an ******* dangerous emitter vehicle. go across the map in less than a second.2010-03-21 19:53:00

First: i wouldn't reccomend you curse, specially trying to overpass the censor like that, it'll geet you in more trouble.

Second: What are you talking about?!
I said it emits/ places the object in less than 0.1 seconds, not that it throws it extremeloy fast.
To be honest it doesn't make a huge difference from what we could already do with regular emiters.

I think I saw a thread a really long time ago that said someone had found a 0.25 speed emitter. Apparently it fired things out three times faster than a 0.1 setting (or something like that.)2010-03-21 20:30:00

At least it wasn't set to pi.

The infinity replacement speed can help to avoid possible instances where the player or an object can block the point of emission, by being so much quicker... that hardly ever happens in 99% of designs, but I've had to abandon things because of stuff like that before.

For that to make any sense, it'd have to be a 0.025 speed.2010-03-21 20:44:00

Yeah, I was never good with math.

Might of been 0.025 then.

You've got it backwards. Infinity means it never emits unless triggered by a one-shot switch (which actually might be useful for my one-shot logic gizmos). For it to emit faster than 0.1s, you'd need the one off the MGS bubble dispensor which is set to 0.0s (although it might not actually be that fast, but just rounded from < 0.05).

There's quite a few oddities like this in MM objects, like the motor bolt on the Large Wooden Steed which is set to 80 by default (max is usually 60). Still, you can use a wobble bolt if you want a really fast motor bolt anyway - you can set those to rotate so fast that the game modulos it at some point, and effectively stops moving.

Also the tweakable and switchable laser from one of the MGS turrets (sadly no longer possible to extract).

I did, it won't work, it appears its only useful for instant 1-shots, in other words, 1-shots faster than 0.1 per second.

The emitter time doesn't affect the speed of one-shot emissions - they're always instant. That was the basis for my one-shot logic devices (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=23400-Zero-Latency-Set-Reset-and-Toggle-Switch).

Using emitted rockets to push a vehicle powered, thus 'an emitter powered vehicle'.

hmm. do you think emmitting extremely fast rockets extremely fast and throwing them extremely ard would result in a mind explosion of speed of some kind? or would it just be chaos?2010-03-24 00:41:00

Luchador has the same, why can't we pull off those tricks MM did????????

Cause they are old features they took out.
But I still wish you could hook up multiple magnetic key switches to ONE sound..

I thought that 0.05 was usually rounded off to 0.1... Not 0.0. In math terms it is (as far as I know)

It is, hence why I used a less-than sign.

There's a secretive (.0) emmiter that can be found on the MGS bubble Vendor or that temples block emmiter. I did testing with paintballs and paintswitches, and a (.1) emmiter drains a paint switch four times slower that a (.0) emmiter.

So it's a (.025) emmiter! it's epic

I need proof! Someone must go to the center of the universe and ask the almighty gods of everything if such things are true!

We will draw sticks to see who goes!

could someone please tell me what Mm vehicle that is and what level do you find it? I'm away from my Ps3 and won't get a chance to check for a couple of days, I cant remember what vehicle that is... I would love to checkout that emitter.
Thanks

It's called "Jumping Tank" from the Wilderness theme. Check out the GameFAQs guide (http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps3/file/938583/54679) to find it.
