Static point bubbles
Archive: 6 posts
I think these would save a lot of time and the ever so precious thermo on LBP PSP. It would work just like materials, a simple switch from dynamic to static. | 2010-03-18 14:53:00 Author: Xenon Posts: 306 |
I mentioned this, along with checkpoints, buttons and switches etc in my feedback during the beta. They said they have no plans to add anything like it and that it was only ever materials that were meant to be static or dynamic. Bit of a shame really! | 2010-03-18 15:27:00 Author: jackofcourse Posts: 1494 |
What they should do is this, but not make the static/dynamic menu show up when you create it | 2010-03-18 18:10:00 Author: Unknown User |
Yeah that is a shame jackofcourse. How about this then, what if they created a pin that can hold any object in place. It would be invisible in game mode and would not obstruct the player in anyway. They could even add dissolve functionality if you attach a switch.... Ok they'll never do that. So as PaddyJ said I'd be happy with a static bubble without the option to tweak. I just hate using glue or having to make invisible rods to make the bubble off the ground. I thought I had it beat with a small invisible thin material but it would sometimes prevent the switching of layers. | 2010-03-19 04:47:00 Author: Xenon Posts: 306 |
The good news is, using invisible rods on the PSP doesn't seem to take up much thermo at all provided you attach them to static objects. There have been several times when my thermo is completely full to the point where I can't even add a switch. I was still able to add about 20 or 30 point bubbles though, all attached with invisible rods. I suppose that just proves that there are multiple thermometers all operating in parallel, but it still seems like the game is pretty forgiving in that way. | 2010-03-19 17:44:00 Author: Taffey Posts: 3187 |
I have given up trying to figure out thermo in this game. The thing I hate about the invisible rod method is sometimes the rods don't attach easily. In the snake pit of my level I wanted bubbles going down. I tried attaching them with rods to the sides after 3 or 4 it would not let me connect another. I ended up making a thin snake to glue it to but it obstructs the player view slightly. | 2010-03-20 19:34:00 Author: Xenon Posts: 306 |
